The Best Skating game Ever!!

This game is the greatest! You can create your own trick, you can create your own level like the others but this park editor is far more detailed and has far more parts that you can use for your park. This game also lets you create a skater but the awesome thing is is that the skater can have YOUR FACE! What you do is you take a picture of your face, cat car whatever, go to www.thugonline.com, send your pic in, then it will be sent to your email as a ps2 save file in one or two min. and there you go! Another great thing about this game is the player is not just your face and body and what not, but the skater is a story of you. You start out as yourself an amateur skater, no publicity or anything. Work hard enough and go through all the missions and you can be a superstar. Another great thing about this game is that it takes after some of the greatest games made, such as Grand Theft Auto 3, because you can steal cars and get off your board!!!! Yes thats right you can get off your board and hang on roofs and shimmy as much as you want! You can even do a super jump by holding the ollie button! It also takes after Metal Gear Solid 2, because you can get off your board and go back to back to walls. This game has 9 huge levels so be ready for a great long gaming experience. All in all this game is going to be one of the greatest thing thats happened to the gaming world. THUG (Tony Hawk's UnderGround) is rated T for Teen for strong language, blood and mature scenes. This game is like THPS 4 times 1,000,000,000,000,000,000, This is a great buy.

Well I think this game is going to be a real good seller this Christmas it is the newest Tony Hawk game to date. So to start off the graphics alone are great and looks real from head to toe. First you start off as an average person skating locally in your hometown then you start to learn more and more skate tricks until you reach pro status. You get to skate as yourself even!!!! It is already a must have for the Holidays, so go out there early or you wont be able to a copy because they are "skating" rifht off the shelves!!! peace out^0^

I had never really been a Tony Hawk fan before I played this game. Yeah, I like to skateboard and yeah, I do love cool tricks but none of the other Tony Hawk games expressed this. I have never played Tony Hawk pro skater 1 and 2 was really crummy. Number 4 DID NOT make an improvment on the rest. The only one that was at least 3 stars was number 3. But when I played underground I noticed that A LOT had changed.
First of all underground has a point to it. In all the other games your just a skate punk pointlessly skating. In underground you skateboard in hope of becoming a champ. At the same time your enemy eric is "competing" against you. Story mode is really fun and a good edition.
Also the moves and tricks are much better. Some of the tricks are just silly but they are still fun. Adding to the tricks if you unlock moon gravity you can sour really high and pull more tricks.
Also playing multiplayer is awesome. Some of the games are really fun. Firefight and king of the hill are two of my favorites.
Another cool thing about this game is that you get to drive cars. In alevel to unlock Hotter Than Hell you can drive carts. But when it comes to driving the controls are HORRIBLE!!!
But in all this game is one of the best games ever. ALthough it could use a few new additions it is excellent. I would tell you to buy it immediely but it is very expensive. You should wait untill the price goes down to buy it.
looks pretty good

this game has a lotof potential. first it has the last 5 thps game backing it up (not 4 cuz thrers tony hawk 3x on xbox) plus its taking a different route. theres the create a trick thing. and its a littleless publisized. not a lot of commercials. i think they wanted real skaters to play this game. Not 7 year old who try to kickflip their first day and quit cuz they cant. cuz thats what the first few games did. But i like the series and this game should be really good.
Truely awsome

I don't skate board in real life, but in video games I am the queen of the kickflip!lol! This game, unlike the other Tony Hawk games, has more of a story. At the beginning, you live in a dumpy part of New Jersey were there is this street called "Elm Street" were drug dealers hang out.You try to get sponsered by Paralta's skateboarding shop and must go threw tasks and goals. Its very fun especaily when the Elm Street drug dealers try to kidnap Eric(your friend who becomes your enemy later on) because he set their car on fire so you have to go chasing after them in a awsime car!
Since the drug dealers are after Eric, you escape with him to Manhaten. There you have to overcome more challenges and deal with lots of people calling you "A stupid kid from Jersey".While your in Manhaten you make a sponser-me video for Paralta. You must do tricks over a flaming taxi while Eric films you!Its really fun.
You send the tape to Paralta and the next thing you know, your in Tampa to atend a skating comptetitoin!
I'm gunna shut up now before I spoil it to much.lol
Great game; don't pass it by.

In 2003, Neversoft released a game a bit different from the others. You could be yourself. Well, this is still Tony Hawk so it's about skateboarding. Although they did get a bit "off-topic", it's forgivingly fun sometimes, and not like Underground 2 (still another good Tony Hawk game though). I found it to be quite fun, yes.
Graphics. Nearly perfect. The guy below me may have a faulty disc or something. When they talk, it REALLY looks like their talking. Everything is animated very well, and I am happy with it.
Sound. This has great sound, sound quality, music, and voiceovers. Not much I can say here.
Gameplay. Controls aren't hard to learn. For most tricks, a simple button combination. The same familiar meters for grinds and manuals are back. This isn't a very short game, nor very long game. In Story Mode, you do goals to progress. Often helping or impressing someone, the final level goal always has something to do with the story itself. And you'll enjoy the game. I'm sure.
Tony Hawk's Underground for GameCube: Buy or Not? Of course! This is highly recommended for any GameCube owner.
more please :D

i can definetley say that this exceeds my expectations and probably Tony's. the walk feture is new to the skateboarding simulation scene... which makes it a bit more elevated in personality.... being sponsered by flip is another great... also meating Stacy Peralta (for those idiots Stacy Peralta was one of the two who founded Powell Peralta and directed The Search for Animal Chin) and having people like BAM tell you your run was "bull sh**" is pretty amazing.... bigger roster of skaters... but WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY to shory story line... but the reason skating games have been a success is for the fact that you dont do the same over and over... you can like flip a stair set then 360 flip then 360 then swith ollie, etc.
the face thingy isnt too amazing... the best part of it is P-rod (paul rodrigez)... you also get to see some commercials (KRUX HAS A HILARIOUS COLT CANNON COMMERCIAL)... i finished the game in like 12 hours in total... so i just freeskated the rest... and id give it only four stars except it had one thing TAMPA AM CONTEST o yea anyone who skates know that SPoT AM is one helluva cool contest... well yea so thats it... this game is so nice and also whats cool is that its more real now.. no more 900s to kickflips off a launch ramp yup
thats it... and in the words of the famous Colt Cannon in 411VM issue 58 "cut to the kickflip" now go outside and skate losers

Tony Hawk's Underground (THUG) is the amazing 5th title in a series of skateboarding games that has yet to let us down. From the very beginning, the series has delivered a fun, challenging, and addictive skateboarding experience, but never could anyone have imagined how that experience would change with THUG. The biggest change with the new game is the incredibe Story Mode, the heart and soul of the entire game. Starting out as a skater punk in a run down neighborhood in New Jersey, you work your way up from punk, to amateur, to pro. In each chapter of the game, you pick from a list of goals which ones you want to complete to move on. You also meet some real pros such as Tony Hawk and Chad Muska in the game, who skate with or against you, and even teach you their special moves. You can also now get off your board to walk around, and even drive vehicles just for fun, or to complete missions. Perhaps the most fun part about Tony Hawk is how much you can customize your game. No longer are you forced to play with the real pros...now you get to create your own skater; make yourself, or whatever you want. One you become a pro, you can design your own board by choosing a background graphic, a pattern graphic, and then putting up to four other graphics on top of that, such as letters or pictures. THUG features the most advanced park-editor to date: create gaps, raise and lower terrain, create your own pools and pipes, and even make your own goals that you, or your friend, can play. Also on THUG is the new trick editor, which allows you to combine rotations and real tricks to make your own custom trick that can be used in the game.
Now that I've told you some of the features of the game, here's my critique: the game is amazing, no doubts there. The story mode is great, although it is way too short, and kind of easy. The other thing about it is that, unlike in the advertisements, you have to follow a specific storyline...it would have been a lot more fun if you could make choices in the game that would affect the outcome, and the "path" you take. If you put in 2 or 3 hours, you can easily beat the game before you know it. The other problem is the stat raising: buy doing certain requirements, you can improve the performance of your skater. Although this does allow you to create the perfect skater, it would have been more fun if, like a Sims sort of thing, they could have given you a certain amount of points, and you could choose which fields to make your skater good in; that would have made the game a lot more realistic. Besides these two things, everything else in the game is truly incredible. The trick, park, skater, and goal creators are all amazingly advanced and fun, and they never get old. The driving controls are pretty simple, but it is a nice break from the traditional all skating games. Lastly, the graphics...all I can say is WOW. Even if you're not a fan of the Tony Hawk series, buy or at least rent this game. I guarantee that you'll love it.
