This game is sweet. Its also the first tony hawk that you can walk around in and this one also has a story of you going from punk to pro. You can customize your skater from head to toe, you can even make your own board! Man wait until you get this game its great!!!

Skate all you want, just don't drive

Let me just start out by saying that Tony Hawk's Underground (T.H.U.G.) is a vast improvement over the recent Pro Skater games. For parents, the blood has been drastically toned down, now, all you'll see are unrealistic red spheres coming out of your mouth. None of it sticks on the floor, so you won't have any bloodbaths like in Pro Skater 3. Of course, now thay've put curse words in the game. Anyway...
The skateboarding is now at the top of it's game. I don't think NeverSoft can make it any better. Unfortunately, they couldn't just end there, they have now introduced drivable vehicles into the game. The physics for these driving sections are terrible, there is virtually no friction and hitting a wooden fence at 100 mph will stop you dead in your tracks. Not that you'll ever be going that fast, because the levels are made for skating, which means a total lack of wide-open spaces.
The story/career mode is much better this time around; for one thing, there's actually a story! With cinematics! The story basically revolves around you and your best bud (for now), Eric Sparrow. You start off as a local New Jersey skater with three cents to your name and no sponsorships. Getting one will be your first major accomplishment. After that, well, I shouldn't spoil it, but let's just say Eric isn't exactly lusting to share the spotlight with you.
The games graphics are still way above average, and you can now customize your character like never before. And by the way, you can't skate as the pros in story mode... this is YOUR Tony Hawk sequel.
Bottom line: if you're buying this game because of the vehicles, get a racing game. If you're buying this game to skate as Tony Hawk, get Pro Skater 4. If you're buying this so you can rise to the rank of skate legend and don't mind meticulously adjusting your character's face so they look like you, then you'll like this game a lot.

BEST TONY HAWK GAME YET!!!!!!!!

this game rules!! with no doubt, its the best tony hawk game yet. even if u dont skateboard, its preety easy 2 get used 2. i only hav 1 complaint. (it wasnt enough 2 bring it down a star.) this game is really easy. sure its fun, but after u beat story mode, u think, wut else do i do. ya sure, u could do another story but it would b way 2 easy after beating the whole game. u could go bak and create a course and a level, but thats kind of confusing and it takes a long time. so for a video game pro, this game ull beat in a week. for most people its a few months. ya ya ya, i know im making this game sound really crummy. get this, it isnt. its not a game u get stuck on easily so that makes kids wanna play it more. it has other fun modes, like 2 player, free skate, create a park, create a level, and more. i stay with the excellent story mode though. it has amazing graphics and overall its a must buy game. i cant wait till THUG 2 (tony hawk under-ground 2) comes out. If u wanna chat with me about any video game or anything else, please instant message me. my screen name is "tennismaster013" see? im not really hooked on skateboarding but i still loved this game. another reason 2 buy it!

This game had a great story mode that had a point. The multiplayer is a lot more fun and has more ways to play. The controls are easy to memorize and the create a trick is pretty cool. It is a lot better than 1,2,3, or 4

I absolutely loved this game, i became so addicted. I wish it was a little longer but I played it for hours on end so of course it seemed a lil short to me. I am so skeptical of games, i didn t think i was going to like it. the boyfriend bought it for him and i played it a lot more than he did. I would recommend this game if you even just kind of liked the other tony hawk games, it s awesome.

Good...but too short

Its a awesome game but the only problem was...IT WAS TOO SHORT! I beat the game in like a day. But it has an awesome game mode and all the other great things that the tony hawk games bring. I hope that the second one is a bit longer or something like that and they need to add more teams to it also... like the darkstar team and enjoi and anti hero...all the other great teams there are.

Very fun, but loaded with flaws

This is a good game overall, but it still needs a few improvements that weren't made in Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Let me name a few:

- when you ditch your vehicle, it should stay in the exact place you parked it, instead of going back to the place you found it.

- there should be a wider choice of vehicles

- you should also to be able to enter more buidlings

- there should be a couple of pro skaters tearing up each level with you so you're not completely alone

- the levels should be bigger and more detailed, although Hotter than Hell can't really get more detailed

Although I've named many flaws, this game still deserves a 4.5/5, which is equal to 8.75/10. If these improvements are made in the next Activision skateboarding game, (whether it's Tony Hawk's Underground 3 or Bam Margera's underground, which I think would be a 10 out of 10 game) I will definately buy it.

Rock on!!!!!!

Well, before I started up THUG, the only Tony Hawk game I'd ever had before was Tony Hawk 2. It was quite a thrill just being able to do a spine transfer and being able to customize my playlist which had more than 6 songs this time. But with that being said, I really hope they make THUG2 longer and harder to beat, seeing as Sick Mode, "for the hardcore Tony Hawk veterans", was beaten by me in about four days with absolutely no cheats at any time. And the last thing I am is a harcore Tony Hawk veteran. I do hope they find a different approach to making levels though, the only fun levels are San Diego and Hawaii, and that burns them out after awhile, although I suppose if you don't completely suck at making parks like I do, you could always make your own. One last thing that I find very annoying in this game is when you reach different parts in the game they automatically change your shirt and then you have to go back to the customize character thing and get the settings back all over again (it happens a few times throughout the game). If I wanted a dumb team shirt, I'd put it on myself.

Although I must say I'm quite happy with the whole 'make your own character to use for the story' deal. There could be much better clothes and stuff, but it's quite good as it is. I like the idea of earning stats rather than having to buy them, like you used to have to.
