Though I've only played to about the middle of the game, I have to say that my favorite part about this game was the story line, second only to the battle system. the story will leave you emotionaly intwined with the charecters, and will leave you crying when your done playing the game the fifth time. About the battle system. Very brilliant. You fight on a 2d plane, with 3d graphics. Alonfg with this clever system, is the ability of steategy. you you can fight like it's a basic hackn'slash game, you also develop strtegies for your other charecters. The graphics were great. I personally loved the Cel-shading. and uh, the person who was complaining about the profanity has no idea what he is talking about. i've heard all the charecters put together swear about ten, maybe fifteen times. please keep in mind that i'm halfway through the game, and that theres two discs, so that means it took a really long time. anyway, you should definitley buy this, a.s.a.p. Ps- who ever says that this isn't a good game either, A: hasn't played it. B: is a playstation/ xbox fanitic, or, C: is a !@##$ retard who doesnt know the first #$$@#4 thing about good #$@32 games!

This game is great. It is fun, interesting, long, and challenging. On the world map you can go where you want when you want. There are a lot side quests which makes it even better. The plot is interesting and full of twists.
The battles are real-time battles almost like Super Smash Bros. The battles are multiplayer so you can have your friends battle with you. There are no random battles. The battles are started by running into an enemy on the world map or in a dungeon like in Paper Mario 2. I really like the battles because they are different then most RPGs.
There are eight characters. You can use four in a battle at once. Each character has a background which you learn about as the game moves on. You get the characters over the course of the game. I like the characters because each one is different and interesting.
This is a really fun game and I suggest that you get it.

Tales of Symphonia, comes out for the Gamecube and WHAM! What a HIT.

Graphics:

Great Graphics, what can you expect from a Japanese game? Good looking character designs, good looking world. Simple 3D models but excellent use of textures.

Gameplay:

Excellent, though I have tried the Tales of Destiny and Tales of Destiny 2 battle sequence, Tales of Symphonia still keeps its tradition, except the battle is in 3D. You love the battle sequence because it is very engaging.

Story:

Absolutely Great! I have been waiting for so long for a game to hold my interest and this is the one of them, a lot of plot twist coming at you!

Overall:

The game may have its weak points but it strengths compliments it. If you are a gamer looking for a good rpg with a great story and gameplay. Give it a try you won't regret.

Tales is hands down one of the best RPGs made for gamecube and perhaps one of the best RPGs ever made! The game play is fairly diverse and there are plenty of side-quests for those of you who like to get 99% on game completion. The plot of the game is simply amazing and well written. The voice acting is superb and the cut scenes are both intense, funny, and dynamic. You get to know each of the characters and their history as the game progresses giving them more depth and color than most games. The fighting system for Tales is a bit different for most RPGs that I've played. It's real time so you don't take turns at attacking each other. Once you're in battle, start hackin' and slashin'! Seriously, this is a very fun game and you'll start to love each of the characters as they develop their little quarks and nuisances. Probably 70 hours of game play if you're trying to get everything. I also recommend going out of your way to get the devil's arms! They're the most powerful weapons in the game and their power is based on the number of monsters you've killed. When you beat the game, you have the chance of carrying over your monsters killed count which means the devil's arms will be super strong the next time you get them! The boss that guards devil's arms is the hardest villain in the game (makes the end boss look like a giant sissy). Anyways, this game rocks and I had a blast playing it. You should play it too!

Tales of Symphonia. My favorite GCN Game yet. The graphics are cartoonish and pretty much like DBZ games. The battle system is the best part. It lets you fully move your Character around the field back and forth. So you can attack someone dodge an attack and attack again at the same time simueltaneously. The story is very good and has a secret for every Character. The game also features 2 discs and u must complete 1 to get to 2. You can cast an array of powerful magic as well as grow in level by obtaining victory in battle. You can also earn money like that to buy better weapons. There are also mazes and various costumes for each charater. And you can cook by learning recipes from wonder chef hidden in almost every level. But you need the ingredients. Fans of Final Fantasy,Tales of Phantasia, and Crono Trigger will love this game.

This is an awesome game. I thought it looked quite stupid, but then I got hooked to the story line. I wanted to know what happened next in the story. I still haven't beaten the first disc and I have played for 22 hrs. Amazing game. I love it. It is a must have for GC owners because you can't beat it by renting it. You have to buy it.

This game is probobly the most beautiful game I have ever played. I have nothing bad at all to say about it.
The graphics are AMAZING. The storyline is easy to understand, but it constantly suprises you.
The gameplay is SUPERB. Rheards rule. The real-time battles are amazing.
The box says there is 80 hous of gameplay. It took my over 50 and the shortest that I know is 48:07.

The trailers and screenshots show nothing compared to actually playing the game for yourself. Awesome storyline, Fighting system makes fighting fun now, gameplay is great. If you're looking for a great RPG game, this one will keep you busy for hours on end.

This game is amazing.its the best game i have ever played in my entire life.its sooo great that i suggest going out and buying it without any hesitation.it has 40 hours at least and thats without most of the extras!

PROS:
the story is deeper then the mariana trench
the graphics are great
there are drawn cinema scenes
the characters are even better then the ones in final fantasy 7
right when you think the game is over you realize its just begun
the most fun game ever mad!!!

CONS:
?????CONS????? there is no such thing i this game.well the boss is kinda easy, but thats if you don't use Raine.

THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!BUY IT!!!!!!!!!
