some people have said the story is too cliched. I'm writing this review to say that good things come to those who wait. To those that said the game isn't 80 hours, I am so hooked on this game that I am on playthrough 2 at 83 hours. This game has such good replayabiity. I'll leave details to other guides, but don't let people complaining of a cliched storyline. The enemies get better too. I found myself on the verge of tears a few times. Just remember, you will experience one of the best gaming experiances ever 1/4 into the game.
Fantastic Game!

With a wide selection of spells and attacks this game certainly is good, but just how good? Well at least 80 hours of gameplay ONLY if you skip all the quests and mini games. Also the game can end in different ways according to how you act. Don't be fooled by the questionable graphics and world map travelling this game is great.
Too many stars? Oh HELL no....

To put it bluntly, this is the best game ever made. I mean it. Especially if your tired of all those sucky games that have started coming out. First off the graphics on this game is incredible. Especially the characters, beautifully drawn by Mr.Kosuke Fujishima himself! The story line is incredible. And there are two discs!! TWO!!! DISCS!!!! Ah...sorry 'bout that. But trust me, this game is awesome. Hell, it's beyond awesome....
....SO BUY IT!!!!

Tales of Symphonia (ToS) is an excellent game for anyone who is bored to death from the tedium of turn-based RPGs. Real time combat is a breath of fresh air that has you looking forward to the next fight. ToS also did away with random encounters, which is something the genre needs to be rid of anyways. The game does an excellent job of enticing you to level up. You continue to learn new and useful spells and skills that dazzle. Though it doesn't have the strongest beginning, once the plot starts rolling, it doesn't stop until the last cutscene. It gets to a point to where it's quite hard to actually follow the story, and all you can rely on is emotions such as, "Hey, I can't remember why, but I don't like that guy." The promised animated cutscenes are bogus, as if I remember correctly you get about two. Sure those two are nice...but it promised a lot. This game also leaves many unanswered questions. There are numerous times that you're on the brink of getting to do something, or are promised something, but you are never allowed to. This is due in large to the fact that a lot of this game ties into the other "Tales of" games made by Namco, but still a little disclosure would be nice. Anyways, this is an excellent game no matter how you look at it and is a gem not just for GameCube owners but for video game players in general.

Listen here all of you RPG starved gamecubers. If you had any brain you will buy this game. With 8 charactors with difforent weapons, moves, and strange personalities its a classic waiting to be bought. I myself purchased this game immediatly when it came out. It is quite similar to Final Fantasy games, but not as boring turn based battle system. The best part of the game is by far learning new techs and performing unison attacks. To any RPG fan I beg you to get this game, I cant talk about all of the great things but I will say you get attatched to the stroyline and charactors until your at the point of where you can't put it down. This is the most intense and greatest game that I have ever played. You will find that there are secrets and very amusing and exciting surpries that will make you cry or yell at the charactors or punch a wall, so one more time I insist you get this game!!!Peace easy
Best game on Earth!!!!

I have the art book, the trading cards, and even the 4" mini figures! This game is reccomended for every people who have a Gamecube, and RPG fans. On the back of the box it says "More than 80 hours of game play" Thats bullcrap, I beat it in 30 hours.Well I need to stop writing this review and start on trying to beat it the 4th time. Bye! I was looking for another action RPG like Legend of Zelda for Gamecube, and upon reading all the reviews for Tales of Symphonia, I was eager to purchase this game since it came so highly recommended. However, let me tell you now, it is extremely hard to get into. There are so many detailed options having to do with battle strategy, moves, character development, items, technical abilities, etc, etc, if you have never played a game like this it is extremely confusing. I almost quit in the beginning several times, and had to teach myself how to play by reading faqs and walkthroughs. The game gives virtually no instruction while you're playing unless you read the entire instruction manual. Now that I've figured it out, I think it's a lot of fun, and I'm happy to have so many character and game play options, but for someone who's just looking for another great Zelda game, this is too much work. Just be forewarned, this is not as easy and great as everyone makes it out to be!!!

Wow. Tales of Symphonia has got to be the greatest Gamecube game ever.
Tales is a unique, depthy, and just plain fun game. Basically is is about a 17 year old guy named Loyd who joins a journey to save the world. Yeah, yeah. Cliche right? If you are thinking this then you have never been more wrong in your entire life. Tales has more twists and turns than Norway's coastline. The very second that you think you know what is going on, the game throws another shocker at you.
PLOT-10/10
This is where the game got me. The original description may sound mundane, but in the middle of the game all of your assumed truths are proved wrong in a shocker that had my jaw resting on the floor.
Graphics-6/10
Graphics are not the game's stong point. Other recent RPG's have featured stunning graphics, but featured mediocre stories. But this does not hinder the enjoyability of Tales.
Cinemas-9/10
Fifteen hours into the game I was wondering where the "high quality anime style cut-scenes" were. I counted a total of two throughout the entire game. Maybe something is wrong with my disk... I don't know. At least those two were very good...
Characters-10/10
Tales has an array of likeable, trust worthy characters... or so one might think...
THE BOTTOM LINE----- BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The game of the Centry

This game is extremly challenging and just about every part of the game you will love. Every member of your party has a unqucie personality that is sure to make you want to be exactly like them. But remember that this game isn't the easiest game of all time. It is acctualy one of tha hardist games I have ever played. So before you start playing remember this;THE GAME IS VERY LONG AND TIERING.
