FINALLY!!!!

Finally ther is a game on a movie that actually is worth someones time! THis game im hoping will be much better than the first thanks to the much improved web swinging system and its free roaming capability. It has a central plot that follows the mivie, but that is only 10% of the game. The other 90% is just swinging through every part of Manhatten, taking on various sidequests, or just chilling on the Statue of Libertys head! Overall this game should be a major improvement to 2002s and hopefully so will the movie. 5/5 for this game and im out!

Wow!

We bought this game for our son, but we're all playing it! And the coolest thing about this game is that just about the ENTIRE CITY is in there for you to explore!!!! Climb the Empire State Building and look at the view in all directions! What will you recognize? EVERYTHING!! It's amazing and beautiful!! And fun! We swing through the city fighting bad guys, taking the challenges, and even delivering pizzas!! (But don't shake the delivery box too much! :)) It's just fun!

Best Spider Man Game

I just have to say: This is one of the best Spider Man Games around. The graphics are the best, and there is only one loading sequence the whole time you play, meaning you could go on buildings or go in shops without it stopping. The action is worth every penny. You can tie up thugs on light posts, and throw them into water or buildings. Great game 10/10

Awesome game, but if I have to catch one more Damn Balloon!!

Let's start out by saying that this game is way better than the first Spiderman game, and that's saying a lot. The first game is already on the best seller's list of every console system it was released on. This game should be quick to follow. The free roaming aspect of this game really opens up the possibilities of exploration. I recommend that everyone use the normal swinging style as compared to the easy one because it again adds variety to a basic concept. I spent the first four hours with this game just swinging around the city to get myself oriented (the environment is bigger than Vice City, even if you filled in the water between the sections). And oh man, what a four hours.
There are "citizen missions" that will pop up as you explore the map. The only problems with theseis that they lack variety and you have to do them frequently to get 'Hero points'. and it leads me to wonder how they know someone is about to fall when you have to jump over three buildings that are between them and the victim. Other random crime missions will appear for short periods of time. These too can get repetitive. One of these "crimes" includes recovering a balloon that was let go by a (very whiny) little boy or girl. while these events can be ignored, that's not the heroic thing to do.
Combat is based heavily on combos, and while you could win the game using only the B-button to fight, that gets very boring very quickly. However, those who take some time and learn a few of the better combos (no more than 5 button sequences) will find combat much more fun and not a chore. Boss battles are also scattered throughout the chapters of the game, though they often come up unexpectedly. You could get done taking some pictures for the 'Daily Bugle' and all of a sudden, a boss has some reason to attack you.
This game can provide hours of mindless web-swinging fun, but the lack of variety in most missions brings it down slightly. I give it a well deserved 4 stars.

Spider-Man really can do anything!

This one was a whole lot better than the origanal. My favorite part is beating up crimanals becuase I picture them as someone I hate and that calms me down. The Bosses, Graphics, Moves, and the Storyline were perfect and they decided to add new Super-Villians to the game like Rhyno and Mysterio but Doc-Ock wasn't really a villian, he just turned bad under false assumptions. All in All, this game would rate a 6 out of 10.

This game is awesome. You can fly all over New York, and a directional blue symbol shows you the way. The graphics are neat and the theme of helping people and hurting bad guys is neat. Some parts are very difficult and sometimes I think they are inhumanly possible for someone who doesn't play video games much. Chasing thugs in a car gets old after a while and is pretty difficult as well. I still like this game despite its challenges and would recommend it for any serious gamer. Hope you enjoy, if you don't I'm sorry.

this game blows me away!!!

Swingin'

Spider-Man 2 is a decent game. For those that want an easy swinging web-head there is an easy mode, but the normal mode for all its extra difficuly is a much richer experience. If you want straight swinging with one button then go for it, but if your swinging from a building to the side of you then of course you will swing in an arc. That's just realistic. The skill comes in at being able to control this with additiol webs and timed jumps and when you do you will feel like the movie. Yes the side missions do get repetative but there is enough additonal exploring to do (and trust me if you master web swinging you will want to) that it can alleviate this somewhat. If you are a fan of Spider-Man and want to dive off the highest skyscraper in New York to swing away on a web at the last moment then this game is for you. For super engaging gameplay you may want to look elsewhere. This game is for the free spirit.

A solid Spidey adventure

Spider-Man 2.

INTRODUCTION:
Both of the Spider-Man live-action films released in recent years were nothing short of excellent. It's thanks to those films that I ultimately became a fan of Spider-Man in general. And, sure enough, both films had massive marketing campaigns. Included in the campaigns were video games, sure enough. The first film's video game was disappointing, being a painfully generic full-3D adventure that had potential, but never really went anywhere. Needless to say, a game based on the second film was also released. Does it improve on its predecessor. To find out, just keep on reading.

OVERVIEW:
Spider-Man 2 was released in 2004. The game is one player, and was released for pretty much every gaming system of the era.

REVIEW
To put it in the simplest terms possible, this game IS a massive improvement over its disappointing predecessor. The first thing you'll notice is that the basic concept of the game is largely fixed. Rather than boring, clunky linear paths, you now get to freely explore Manhattan Island, accomplishing missions to gain points, and battling classic Spidey villains along the way (It's kind of like Grand Theft Auto, but you're on the side of the law.) This gives the game somewhat of a non-linear structure, giving you some freedom. Being able to web-sling through the city is extremely fun. The control scheme has also gotten a massive overhaul, and all for the better, too. The new scheme is better, and easier to learn, too. I found myself doing a whole lot of fighting with the camera in the first game, and thankfully, that's not the same story here! With assorted events and a storyline that goes beyond the movie, you'll be busy for quite some time. Of course, the game is far from perfect. The biggest problem with this game is its overall redundant nature. Although there are plenty of challenges and events to participate in, they're all pretty much the same, and this may make you bored with the game faster than you might like. Another flaw is the graphics in cut scenes - the first game had MUCH better cut scene graphics - these look like they belong on the Nintendo 64! This is a very good game, desoite the flaws, arguably the best game to ever feature the Spider-Man name.

EDITION NOTES:
In recent times, this game has been rereleased as a Greatest Hits title, resulting in a massive price drop! If you're a Spidey fan and you don't have this yet, now's the time to make the purchase!

OVERALL:
And that's it. Spider-Man 2 is a massive improvement over the game based on the first Spider-Man film, as anyone will tell you. Activision has taken the potential the first game had, and exploited it in pretty much every good way possible. If you're a Spider-Man fan, this game is well worth your time.

It is kind of impossible to beat dock ock but it is fun trying. Acclaim could have made the game with better graphics. You can't swimin the game which is bad when you are on the third time you meet Dock Ock.
