Mr. Burns has provided the city with nuclear powered buses, unfortunately they're not the safest things to be on by any means. In order to topple the plans of Mr. Burns, most of Springfield has decided to use their own vehicles as a taxi service. Here's where The Simpsons Road Rage begins. Road Rage is an obvious copy of Crazy Taxi, but for once, the copy is better than the original. The graphics on this game are all cel shaded and very well done. As for the play control, there's a tremendous amount of vehicles to drive and each one handles differently than the next. Though each car has the same controls, they differ in handling, acceleration, top speed, and plowing ability. One of the best things about this game is the voice acting. The entire original cast did the voice acting for this game, and almost every Simpsons character makes an apperance as either a driver or passenger. All the money you collect from driving people around is accumulated so that you can buy new courses and drivers. You'll be playing for hours just trying to unlock everything. The zany fun of The Simpsons carries perfectly onto this game. With great driving action, and hilarious character quips, this game will be loved by Simpsons fans and gaming fans both.

Now, when you look at Simpsons Road Rage, you think, "Crazy Taxi Copy"! But, it is not like those cheap imatations of Tony Hawk they've been pulling off.
The Simpsons: Road Rage is a total redressing of Taxi. Drive in Homer's car and crash into the Springfield Mall or the School. Drive over the gorge or see the World's Biggest Toliet! When you pick up characters, like Cheif Wiggum who says that he needs to go home because theives stole his police car, they say the most hilarious things! What about Ralph, you tells the driver how a dog barks or how his dad's car siren sounds like. Hmmm, and Lisa, who keeps digging everyone about "how she is apposed to the waste of fossil fuels, but really needs a lift". Imagine, riding around the local Nucelar Power Plant while Homer is supposed to be at work. Or, what about Downtown Springfield with a going-on-forever party?
This is only one of the features. Besides the Simpsons, everyone gets on the act. Groundskeeper Willie with his tractor, and Professer Frink has his Flying Car! With 17 vehicles and 6 neighborhoods, you gotta buy it!
And, there are even more stuff comin to you, like the Sunday Drive mode, a sightseer's paradise. And Mission Mode allows you to complete different missions to defeat Mr. Burns, who released a line of Nuclear Power Buses, which brings me to the graphics.
At the beginning, you can view a short that is exactly like the cartoon, except in 3-D. And, it dosen't have those pesky, words instead-of-voices routine. It is actual good footage with mouths moving, flexible movements, and no cruddy movements with objects like on the N64. And, the neighboorhoods are filled with locations just like on the TV show. Some may be out of place, and some are even only in one cartoon (Like the "Gold" house and Rancho Relaxo).
Okay, now down to the nitty-gritty! For Simpsons fans and Crazy Taxi fans, this is a perfect mix. If you don't like Simpsons, though, go with Crazy Taxi, since this is a total Simpsons redressing. I loved the game, and it is a must addition to your GameCube game list!

I have always loved the taxi sims in the arcade and on other consoles. Now it seems that the Nintendo Gamecube just keeps getting better everyday. This will be the ultimate taxi sim. It combines the simpsons (which will make it extremely funny) and about the same exact thing as Crazy Taxi to make the ultimate taxi sim. It is also starting to look like the Xbox will have no games all to itself. If you love crazy taxi, I would definetly recomend anyone who loves Crazy Taxi or the Simpsons. A great buy!

Having watched the Simpson's religiously for the entire last decade, I knew I would be hard to please for a Simpson's videogame which held true to the show. I received Simpson's Road Rage as a Valentine's day gift, and I was in heaven! While the gameplay and basic structure of the game is straight out of Crazy Taxi, the beautifully rendered environments and bountiful Simpson's characters make this an entirely new and fresh game. While there are many levels and game modes to choose from, it is just as much fun to play the 'Sunday Drive' level over and over, just to listen to each Simpson spouting hilarious catchphrases...which never seem to get repetitive. There is enough variety in the game for a high replay value, and it really makes you feel like you're part of a Simpson's set...For what the game is, a high-speed driving taxi-fest, Simpson's Road Rage delivers tons of fun from a simple ,(and borrowed) concept. Must have for fans, especially devout Simpson's fans.
Great for any Simpsons fan!

You don;t have to be a simpsons fan to like this game. The control is great, and the sound is great through the surround. Although it helps to know a bit about the simpsons to get the overall concept of this game....
Fun for a couple of hours.

As you probably know, "Simpsons Road Rage" is [the same as] "Crazy Taxi" My guess is that your love of this game comes down to two things: 1. How much you like "The Simpsons". 2. How much you like "Crazy Taxi".
I can't say that I enjoyed "Crazy Taxi" much so it comes as no surprise that I am not too impressed by this game. The best part of both games are the mini-game missions that you have to accomplish. There are only ten of them in "Road Rage" and they are too quickly beaten. The rest of the game involves driving around a car and picking up various residents of Springfield. You have to take them to their desired destination as quickly as possible.
One thing that bothers me is that many people will review a game after they have only played for a couple of hours. That is a big mistake. Sometimes there are certain game characteristics which are entertaining for a while...but then they wear out their welcome. "Road Rage" suffers severely from this problem.
The cast of the TV show recorded sound samples to be used specifically in this game. That was a great idea...I think. Some of the things the characters say are funny and add to the enjoyment of the game. However, it soon turns into a major annoyance. Why? They didn't do nearly enough original voice work. Imagine hearing someone say the same thing over and over and over again about a hundred times. Does that actually sound enjoyable? You're right. It's not. I felt like smashing up the TV after hearing Ralph talk about a leprechaun who tells him to burn things for about the zillionth time. (I would recommend using the "mute" button instead of taking this drastic approach.)
My rating of 2 stars is for the unbiased game player. I would recommend it more highly for those of you who are huge fans of "The Simpsons" or the "Crazy Taxi" game format. Personally, I found it to be too repetitive to be enjoyable for more than a few hours.
Simpsons ROAD RAGE : Arcade Addiction

The Simpsons Road Race is an extremely fun arcade racing game.It is very similar to the game CRAZY TAXI. When you combine the humorous bunch of Simpson characters and create a fun, and highly addictive racing game, you are going to have an awesome end result. When i started playng this game, I couldnt get enough. I found myself playing for long periods of times, which is very rare for me personally. In about two days and a combined 2 hours, I beat the game. There are 4 different game modes: Road Rage, in which you pick up passengers and drive them to where they want to go to earn money. The money you earn can be used to buy new areas, characters, and cars. The ultimate goal is to reach a certain ammount of money to regain the busing industry from evil Mr. Byrnes who took over the industry and jacked up the prices. There is also a Mission mode, in which you complete 10 missions and earn a secret car. The Sunday Drive mode is just for getting used to certain courses. And finally, my personal fav mode, HEAD TO HEAD, a two player challlenge. This game is highly addictive, but after you beat the game which is very easy, it becomes boring. The game play is good, the graphics arent great, but all in all the sheer fun of this game makes it an extremely good, enjoyable game.
The most repetitive game ever

OK this game has one of the best licences out there. Most people love the Simpsons and it's great to see it in a game after a long absence. The game copies Crazy Taxi in every way but doesn't do it nearly as well. Springfield is reconstructed quite well but there just isnt enough variety in the locations at all.
The first time u pick up a passenger u will enjoy the ride and the one-liners from the show but soon they will get annoying. The game just stays the same all the way: Pick up passenger and drop him/her off. There is no variety at all. And also the car handles a bit crap and it's not much fun driving around after a few days. Worth a rent only.

The Simpsons Road Rage, in my opinion is a very basic game. The only thing you get to do in the game is carry person by person to their destination. The only other feature is the mini-games, where you can test-drive everybody's vehicles in obstacle courses, (usually destroying things). But at least you get a reward! In the Simpsons Road Rage, you start off where Mr.Burns has bought all the bus companies out and has turned them into radioactive buses. The only way to stop him is to put him out of business, as well as saving up enough to buy his business. At the beginning all the characters that you can choose from are Homer, Bart, Marge, Lisa, and Abe (or just grandpa). Each character has their own car that you will see in certain episodes of the Simpsons. As you collect more and more money from being your own taxi, you can unlock different characters, and different areas to race in. But mainly the thing that makes it a good game is that you get to destroy everything!
