The Pirates arent really that great of an addition to this game. Id suggest just waiting until SFC Volume 3 comes out this Christmas. It takes place in the Next Generation Era, so there will be Borg, Romulan Warbirds, and the Klingons will be able to cloak,as well as cooler weapons and a story. The new one will be made by a different company(Activision) that makes better Star Trek games. Get this one only if you dont have SFC 2 Empires at War

Not the best but fun playing the captain of the ship. Choosing a strategy can be tough at times but it offers a unique perspective not done before.

This game is slowly getting better as far as crashing goes. but it still (sadly) looks a lot like the first game... they have added new ships and new abilities along with 2 new races... but it is really a lot like before. If you loved armada like i did this game is worth buying. Here are the pros and cons

---PROS
)2 New races
)Fewer Bugs
)New ships and special functions
)Better interface
)New maps and single player levels
)Has a tutorial level set

---CONS
)Seems to use more memory, hard drive space, processor time, and zaps more from a graphics card...
)still has some bugs on older systems
)Has only 3 (major) single player level sets
)Seems to have a weaker story.

Overall i would say... this is one you'll have to decide for yourself.

While not perfect it is a good simulator with lots of things to do in battle. Admittedly, sometimes I feel there is too many things to play with in the game, and in the midst of battle there is so much to think about. Makes one wonder how Kirk or Picard did it.

Anyway if you like Trek this is one game you should get.

This is a not the type of command game i would expect from activison. Although i am a hardcore treky i dont like it. The lip movement is of and i wish you could assum a more room the ship type game with command. An Elite Force/Command game would be good in my opinion. You should also be able to go to systems you want to. Hey, overall its worth the buy, but its not the best

Great Star Trek game... wait... what am I saying? Awesome Star Trek Game! Its even supposed to have a level where you fight on the hull of the Enterprise E! This is gonna be one of the best games ever. The demo is awesome!

If this is the Demo, can't wait for the retail version

Finally a shooter that requires some thinking as well. Graphices are highly improved since the original. I can not wait for the retail version.
