Death Blooms

This game is everything you could ask of a Mortal Kombat Game, blood, gore, and more blood. The greatest thing about this game is the fighting style system. Each fighter has 2 fighting styles and a weapon fighting style (except Blaze & Mokap), and combos can branch styles. Also new Characters such a a drunken master Bo'Rai Cho (boracho: drunk in spanish), and rotting zombie named Drahmin. Also the old standards have all recieved a much needed update, The Entire cast of MK1 (Kano, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Reptile, Shang Tsung, and Scorpion) all return except for the Liu Kang (Thank GOD!!!). Finally Test your Might is back (still can't break diamond), and a new game Test your Sight has been added. All in all, damn good game.

Gamecube's controller RUINS another good game

The Gamecube version is wacked! The control is lame! You can't use the control stick, ONLY the pad. Non-symmetrical buttons totally kills this game!

The gamecube controller dont have enough buttons to execute everything too.

Good but short of great

The guy that compared this game to Soul Calibre is clearly
smoking crack.

This game is far better.

The mixed fighting styles were very well done and are a
decent representation of the true style. Although I'm
fairly certain that they made some styles up to fill
empty space, judging by the fact that I had never heard
of them... and unlike the others... they didn't offer
any background on them.

Konquest... is wicked lame. All of this could be achieved
in practice mode... their only way to get you to play this
feature... is by the easy koins. I also think the guys at
midway slept their way thru the coding here. On some of
the more complex combos you could execute it perfectly
numerous times and it won't register with the game and
then you can do some random move completely unrelated to
the current task and score a point. What's the deal.
Anyone that has tried Scorpion's mixed style combos
knows exactly what I mean.

The mini-movies are fairly well done, I greatly enjoy
watching the characters perform their katas.

Oh and for anyone that hasn't noticed... the big fat
drunken kung-fu master's name Bo Rai Cho... is alot
like the Spanish word for Drunk... ~grin~

Real martial arts add depth to the Mortal Kombat series

I was a big fan of the Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games in the early 90's, and even though I thought Mortal Kombat had cooler characters and graphics, I preferred the depth of gameplay of the Street Fighter series. In the Mortal Kombat games, everyone had the same punches and kicks, and often it was a matter of using the special moves more than anything else. With the Street Fighter games, every character (with the exception of Ken and Ryu) had unique moves -- different punches and kicks, and more possibilities.

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance changes all of that. Each character now has 3 distinct, real, martial arts fighting styles -- 2 hand-to-hand styles and 1 weapon style each. In my opinion, this is the single best improvement they've ever made to the series. It adds an element of depth previously missing from Mortal Kombat.

The graphics are impressive, and so are the characters, though a few of the new characters are a bit unmemorable. Many hardcore fans were disappointed that each character only has one fatality, and there are no stage fatalities (though one level contains fountains of green acid that can harm you character). Also, there isn't much in the way of secrets to unlock, with the exception of The Krypt: a huge graveyard of coffins which can be unlocked with "koins" earned by winning matches. However, most of these unlockable items are pictures -- pictures of the developers, of characters, of design sketches -- pictures that don't enhance the gameplay.

This is a fantastic game, and is followed up by the equally impressive Mortal Kombat: Deception.

By the far the best ever, even as I own every Mortal Kombat game for every system and every Arcade, it still beholds the best.

Same ol' Mortal Kombat

If youv'e played in the past your probably familiar with the control and how no matter how hard you try some moves just will never be accomplished, well this is the same yet with only more moves to only try for hours getting frustrated till you realize there just not going to work since the game will just not accept the way you press the buttons. As well after difficulty reaches past %50 you may as well just start over, The Enemies will do nothing but repeatedly block your moves till you just give up then attack and catch on to blocking again, It then no longer becomes a battle but a hope the computer forgets to block for the a blink second so I can actualey get a Kick in, other than that the Krypt was a cool concept but gameplay never changed. The controls as well got worse with the use of the D-Pad I have not yet figured a way to get the Joy stick to work and I'm sure theres not. If your Looking for a Fighter I don't reccomend this one unless a serious Mortal Kombat fan.

This Game is awesome. I've always loved imaginative fake-world games snd in this all the characters are out of this galaxy. I will admit that there was some unesescary gore and blood but you can turn it off on the options menu wich will than make perfectly clean and blood free. Oh and just so you know, I loved this game.

Eh. No.

DEFINITELY not as good as Soul Calibur. Graphics don't compare, gameplay isn't as smooth, controls aren't very easy to use. You have to use the DIGITAL PAD! My moves can't flow because of that.

I only played for about 20 mins, wasn't impressed at all. I'm glad I bought it for $20, because that's all it's worth.

If you want a game that will last long and provide you with weeks worth of entertainment buy Soul Calibur II. Extremely awesome graphics, no blood, great adventure mode, excellent game, 5 stars.

It's Finally Here!!!

Its about time they came up with another MK game, this one is going to RULE! With the three fighting techniques and old and new characters MAN it can't get any better than this. What i''m looking foward to is the new FATALITYS and the beautifully done graphics, especially how the fighter's clothes can be ripped, they get bruised, bloody, and drip sweat! THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT FIGHTER!

LIU KANG IS DEAD (?)

Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (MKDA) is an over the top fighting game. So much more than the Mortal Kombat you know and love. Each fighter is equipped with three killer fighting styles, you can test your might (or sight) in between every 5 battles, which is cool. There are some good, okay & decidably lame fatalites. That's all good because if your playing MKDA just for the fatalites your playing for the wrong reasons. While the gameplay differs from MK's original formula there is alot here for the original formula fans and those that may have grown tired of it. I've been playing MK for over half a decade and I wasn't prepared for MK to become so much more advanced than ever before. The blood goes to extremes even beyond previous MK games. Blood aside we also get vomit and brain exsposure (YUM YUM). I found it odd that I spent something like 208 in currancy on a new fighter, but some lame picture of one of the crew members (one of the games creators) was like twice as much. Well this was one of the only fighters that was less than 2000 in currancy. I've unlocked all of the fighters which makes a total of 21, with 2 more hiding somewhere beyond the Krypt. However, I was excited to complete my character select screen. As for Liu Kang.. if your amongst the few that were sad to see his neck break, stop sweating it. He'll be resurrected by MK6. DEADLY ALLIANCE IS A GREAT GAME FOR OLD AND NEW FANS OF THE POPULAR SERIES.
