Incredible Single Player and Co-Op

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1
Date: December 06, 2004

I'm not sure why anyone would compare this game with Goldeneye, aside from them both involving James Bond. This is not a first person shooter, if you want a pure shooter I'm sure you can find one somewhere else. In Everything or Nothing, you've got real actors (like Pierce Brosnan & Willem Dafoe), great action, and an incredible amount of gadgets and vehicles. An SUV with a cloaking device, a motorcycle with missile launchers, platinum tanks, & more.
You won't be able to just run around maniacally with your weapon, but that's not what the real Bond would do anyway. A great feature is being able to lean back against the walls and peer over to see what you'll be going up against. Some optional mission features are tough, like getting through a level completely undetected, but once you have figured out all the techniques you should have no problem pulling it off.
Co-op is a challenge, but if you've got a good friend to team up with you'll be knocking out mission points and unlocking characters in no time. Unless you're expecting a pure first person shooter, there is no way you won't enjoy this game.

Prety good

This game is pretty good, it has good graphics and the driving levels are kool and it has good replay value but it the third person-ness and the locking on gets kinda tiresome after a while. Its a good game, but if you want stealth stay away from the James Bond series and go for Metal Gear Solid or splintercell.

A step up-but like all the bond's there are downsides

Let me start by saying that this game is without a doubt the best Bond out there. They have revamped the entire Bond video game style, mostly in a pretty good way. But, like every Bond out there-it still has problems.

First, the additions and changes they have made in this game are all terrific, after all the same old Bonds style, the change was welcome. First it is in third person, with a hand combat system. This means no more turning to see every corner and no going up to punch some guy with the same fist every time. That said the hand combat isn't great, there are only three buttons to use and no constant way to punch or really have any idea what you are about to do. you kind of mesh the buttons and see what Bond does.
Another thing they have done is added to the variety of vehicle missions, SUV, Aston Martin Vanquish, Daytona 500, and a helicopter. All of these are fairly cool, especially the motorcycle.

And a 2 player co-op mode similar to the one in Rogue Squadron Rebel Strike.

It is about time the Bond genre did something like this, I thoroughly enjoyed these new addition to the Bond series

But the best thing about this game is that they use actual actors. EA finally got wise and used Brosnan's voice(too bad he won't be back for Bond 21) Willem Dafoe(you can never go wrong with Dafoe, natural born movie villain) is perfectly suited as the Bond baddie. Judi Dench and John Cleese bring an additional element of James Bond feel to the game. Then there is Heidi Klum and Shannon Elizabeth as well as Mya Harrison. to be honest, none of these woman really contribute much to the game except that they are some of the most gorgeous women in existence. Despite the lack of real contribution by the Bond girls they do with all the other actors.

the downside here is Jaws who should never have turned good in Moonraker. Richard Kiel was compleyely underused. his talents he could have lended, being restricted to his voice would have been great, instead he seems to just have growls drowned out by some motorized noise in the background-where are the monologues between the former arch-nemesises?
If you are looking for a bond that feels like a movie this is it. it starts off with an irrelevant but fun opening sequence followed by a major dissapointment of a theme song.

the missions are a fair blend of complicated and easy, fast or slow. they may be a little complicated (I buy about one new video game ayear and play it minimally) I found my self checking the internet constantly on the on foot missions for what to do.

but at least the storyline holds together well except for the part about nanobots eating metal.

in the end the missions are fun and somewhat replayable and none are too exceedingly crazy or complicated. well some are unnecissarily hard yeah i take that back. some of the driving missions are too complicated, the enemies are too powerful, and it is too easy to get lost.

one thing i appreciate most is the very end, Diavolo or Dafoe is easily taken down the way you could visualize it in a movie with another problem to fix after he dies. For example in Die Another Day, Bond didn't exactly kill the baddie, and after he did he had to worry about getting off a crashing plane.

In the end i would recommend buyhing this game. i just notice the little stuff, but like i said this is the only new game i have bought since Spiderman-2. the flaws are flaws you can live with. once you play this you will sigh in dismay at how dull the older ones now seem but hey-From Russia With Love, November 2005.

Missions- 4 1/2 out of 5
Story- 4 1/2 out of 5
Driving/Flying- 5 out of 5
Replay- 3 1/2 out of 5
Overall 4 1/2 out of 5

They have yet to make a truly great Bond game, and I look forward to Russia hoping it will be what we have all been waiting for. But for now- this is by far the very best.

This game is terrible!!! Don't buy it. Nothing like Nightfire or Goldeneye. Mulitplayer sucks, Co-Op sucks, no codes at all, can't even play mulitplayer until you beat the first level of Co-Op, and even so, the multiplayer is awful, and you cant even play as Bond or anyone, you get four little jack off guys, whopee. No bots, no different multiplayer modes, no anything. Don't buy this game or you be extremely dissapointed like I was.

This is Goldeneye

The other day are Walmart store got James Bond Everything Or Nothing in early. They couldn't put it out on the shelves until next Tuesday but they could put one disc in the consoles so we could see. I played through one level and after seeing that this is the new Goldeneye. EA has cursed the James Bond series for along time now but after this it is broken and now Rares Goldeneye is cursed. This game is so good it beats every other first person shooter out there. The game has every perfect aspect and setup you can find on any shooter. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark is a thing of the past now and the new king James Bond Everything Or Nothing.

Bond, James Bond

This game is awesome! As everyone knows, this game is in 3rd person so you can acually see more of the environment around you. The story mode is great, featuring acual actors playing the roles of the characters. You can choose each mission from easy, normal, or hard, and the objectives change depending on which mode you choose! Also, there is a large variety of missions (20 all together at the vary least!). Another thing is there is now a two player co-op mode, so know you and your friend can play along side eachother in many NEW missions that weren't in the 1 player story mode. There are many cool weapons and a neat mode called "Bond Sense", where you can stop time and cycle through your many weapons.
This game is very great, but however the multiplayer could have been a lot better!! The battle mode with your friends is just an overhead view of an arena.
Get this game. It is a new touch to the great Bond games, probablly the best one. If you were a fan of the first person shooter Bond games, still consider this one as you do acually feel like your 007.

much better than the one for xbox

It's telling that even after seven years of adventures on numerous consoles, all James Bond games are still compared to the original GoldenEye shooter that Rareware developed for the N64. Even more telling is that none of them have really measured up, and some of the later offerings (ie Nightfire) felt like more style than substance.

Fortunately, EA has finally developed a Bond game to rival GoldenEye in Everything Or Nothing. Part of the appeal is that this time the game feels like a real movie, with Pierce Brosnan, Dame Judi Dench and John Cleese reprising their movie roles, as well as notable stars like Willem Dafoe, Shannon Elizabeth, Hedi Klum, and Japanese model Misaki Ito as the villains and supporting cast. The voice talent lends a whole new level of excitement to the adventure, and makes me want to include "Everything Or Nothing" when people mention the movie series.

The play mechanics are also much improved. The new 3rd-person perspective feels more Bond-like, and offers shooting as well as effective hand-to-hand combat. Gadgets like the Q-Spider and Rappel Gun add another dimension to the gameplay, as Bond can now spy on enemies and have firefights while walking up walls. There are also numerous vehicle levels with Bond driving his Aston Martin, a tank, a motorcycle, and many others. EA also included many gameplay moments that dare Bond to defy the impossible, such as chasing a plane, driving off a cliff, and a fight with Jaws in a falling elevator. These sequences are what really make the player feel like Bond, and what seperates the game from other 3rd-person adventure titles.

However, there's still a few faults worth pointing out. Gadget/weapon switching is still a royal pain. The lock-on aiming, though effective on enemies in the open, is practically useless when enemies are hiding behind crates. Finally, the award system still hasn't changed much, though offering production stills and turntable models of Bond girls is a much better reward than the weapon upgrades in the past.

If you're a Bond fan, buy this game, love this game. It's the closest you'll ever get to being 007, and will easily tide you over till the next movie comes out.

An amazing 007 game

I had wanted this game forever. I have it now and it rocks. I rate it four stars because it's not like I'm that crazy about it. It has great graphics, definintly the best 007 game by a longshot, not as good multiplayer action, but overall better than nightfire!!
