For those who love a GOOD rpg

This is what an RPG game should be... Beautiful, fun, and challenging. A game that actually makes you think. I was a fan of Final Fantasy I & II, but was disappointed to see the direction the game went in three, and was very turned off by all the games that followed. I trully dislike linear games, so I was happy to see how open-ended and rich this game was. I especially enjoyed the way Nintendo incorporated using the Gameboys with the game. If you are a fan of most of the Final Fantasy games, then you probably won't like this game... But if you enjoy a GOOD rpg game and have a hard time finding games that satisfy your longing to explore an amazing world with new challenges, then I recommend this game for you!

This is possibly the worst game I've ever witnessed. I have no idea why Nintendo is getting hooked on this dumb idea where you must have four players to beat the game. The idea has already ruined that Legend of Zelda game. Also, the controls are so confusing to where I want to break the disc in half, which I almost did. Getting back to that four player thing, WHAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE FOUR PEOPLE TO PLAY?! Nintendo never thought of that and probably won't. I just wish that Nintendo wouldn't make games like that.

I haven't played FFCC so I'm just rating it on how I expect it to be. From what I have read and seen about the game is very promising, the graphics of FF9 are simular to the graphics of CC, but it works out this time aroung by sort of blending with the backgroung and the setting aroung you, the storyline seems interesting, in fact the only two things that I would really complain about is reassembling the magic that you aquire in each stage over and over and over again and the multiplayer in which you need at least two GBA's And at least two GBA cables(which just seems like a way for Nintendo to make extra money to me)in order to play it. But despite all that I for one am going to by FFCC, plus on the positive side you get to creat your own character which almost makes up for the multiplayer problem, almost...(c'mon Nintendo there's four slots for four controllers lets use them).

this looks good?

this game looks like thhe best i read a preveiew in a magizne and it looks like the best final fantisy game ever. it is suposed to be more like the Zelda serise because you have to block and atack at the right time to defeate your foes. oh and you have a Moogle this is a creature that carries the crystal cage that protecs you from posin that has coverd the earth this game is also multiplayer with a game boy advance. you can paint your moogle with your gbadv this is a advantage becaust painting your moogle cangive you different maps. this is all i have herd but it sounds great to me.

This game is cool because it is the first Multiplayer
Final Fantasy game ever. You can also choose the tribe and apperance of your guy, and the story and graphics are as amazing as the Final Fantasy games in the past.

This game is absolutly awsome!

final fantasy has gone a long way with there extremely detailed games, but unfortunatley there running out of ideas. these new games are NOT true to the final fantasy series that we once knew. final fantasy 3(my favorite game) was by far the best one but these new FF games are just repititive but still fun, dont get me wrong. if you never played FF you will love this game. there great.

it's bad

this game is terrible. well, for one player, anyway. to be honest, if you don't have at least 3 people, it's not going to be good.

if you have one person, that moogle can carry your lamp for you. if you have 2 people, one the 2 people has to carry that stupid lamp around. in other words, you have one person fighting, and one person running away from enemies because they have that STUPID LAMP IN THEIR HANDS.

so with 3, at least only 1 out of the three has to carry the stupid lamp around.

but it doesn't help that the game isn't that fun. it has very bad play control (it takes your guy like a whole 2 seconds to attack after pressing the button).

the graphics are pretty, but not astounding.

replay? hahahaha! i didn't play it all the way though the first time! who would?

so yeah, get another game instead. suikoden IV and growlanser generations are out on ps2, and they are way better.

It's hard to review this really

Nintendo for some reason tends to be stubborn. While they offer great games, they also have this attitude that they should stand out above all others with innovations and this doesn't always succeed. Remember Virtual Boy? Did you actually buy one, and still have it? Thought so. While Sony and Sega(and literally everyone except handhelds) were doing CD based games, Nintendo still came up with Nintendo 64, which took cartridges. They'll drop the brand new Nintendo DS which has the touch screen ability where you move a pen-like thing around the screen. Different yes but can you imagine how many games will actually use this? And most importantly, instead of online play, they opt for connectivity with the GBA/SP and let's face it, only 2 games really utilize this: this game and Zelda Four Swords. But anyway, onto the game.

Who knew a Final Fantasy game would have very little plot? Basically, the world is covered in a mist called miasma which is lethal to people so they discovered a way to repel this with massive crystals inside towns. Trouble is, they have to be replenished so they send 2-3 caravans to recharge it with myrrh, a mysterious substance you get from trees. That's it. There's no character development, no real big plot twists. Even Zelda Four Swords had a bigger plot than this.

While the story leaves much to be desired, the graphics are astonishing. The character designs are cute, the world's are rich and detailed, spells are fantastic, and let's not forget those cute redesigned moogles(they look fluffier here).

I didn't get far but as far as I could tell, there was only one bit of voice acting: a narrator which tells you a story of the dungeon/level you visit. The music has a folk/Celtic feel to it which, while doesn't have anything has stunning as Liberi Fatali or Aeris's Theme, it does fit the world.

As you've most likely have heard, you can hook up 4 GBA's to play it to it's potential. This may seem cumbersome(either you end up buying all 4 which is stupid to be honest with you or finding 3 friends who happen to have GBA's), it honestly is some of the most fun you'll have playing a game.

As for the gameplay, it's so-so. In order to traverse the world, either a moogle or a friend in multiplayer carries a chalice which protects you from the miasma. Like the review, it's a ridiculous idea that hinders gameplay, especially in multiplayer. Actions are done by cycling through either Attack, Items or the spells you've collected. You'll have find yourself attacking when you should cure yourself cause you didn't cycle properly. You can create bigger, powerful spells if you and your friends time your spells in the same spot but since everyone pretty much goes on their own time, it'll probably miss. The other thing is the spells(or magicites as they're called) can't be taken with you when you leave a dungeon which means you have to find them again in the new dungeons. Ugh.

Despite the many problems it has, it's probably one of the most fun you'll have in multiplayer but I very much suggest it. I end up playing single player as I only have one friend who has a GBA and he's busy most of the time but if you have friends with a GBA each, then definately check this out but you'll notice some problems along the way.
