When I first popped this game into our Playstation 2 I was like "What in the World are u supposed to do". Then it occured to me that u are supposed to manage these people's lives. At first I liked this game but after a couple of hours I got really bored with it. It's no excitement to this game. I tried to give this game a chance but it totally sucks. All you do is run from location to the other deciding what these people should do with their time. I can't believe this game has gotten any positive reviews. It's a sleeper. People who like this game must have no life.
Not another 5 years of expansion packs!!! Noooooo!!!!

As much as I enjoyed the first Sims and nabbed it the first week of release I realized after a while what a pox it was. Will Wright, the talent that gave us Sim City and all its offspring has been doing nothing else new creativley due to having to work on the Sims, and even SimCity 4 is tainted by the Sim characters you can import into your town.
I wish this Sim fad would go the way of the beany babies.
I'M GOING TO LOVE THIS GAME!

I basically have all of the sim games. Except for 2 or 3. But I know how the sims work! I love the sims game. And by looking at the screenshots and the videos I can tell that I will love this game very much!!!!!!!! It's soooo realistic. You actually get to have a life! Instead of living the same life. After a while it gets boring having the same person never ever growing up in the regular sim games. I mean, after all the exciting things happen, it gets boring. But this game seem like it'll never get boring!! Of course it will eventually! But doesn't seem like it to me. And the good thing is, it's coming out close to my birthday. Who knows! I might get it for my birthday! It'll be a perfect birthday gift for anyone! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
Eh, it's ok....

Sims 2 is ok. It's a little boring and a little tiresome. After a while you realize and wonder why you are playing a game where you control the lives of imaginary people and getting worked up over the things they do?
pros: Good graphics and easy to play and have fun with and get addicted the FIRST time around.
Cons: Why would anyone want to be a control-freak and control almost everything that someone does? Do you like playing God? If so, I guess this is the game for you.
But....if you don't have a life, try to go get one outside.
Best Game ever

I'm not going to review this game because I don't have it yet. I just HAD to say something about some of you completely bashing the game. First of all, the game IS NOT slow. No game is "slow". A game runs the best it can. If the game runs slow, it's the computer's fault. Believe me, I know how frusturating it can be to buy an expensive game and have it run like crap. As much as I hated to do it, I spent 800 dollars on a new computer last night just so this game will run good. I would advise anyone about to buy to take a good hard look at the specifications and requirements for this game BEFORE purchasing. Make sure you know what the requirements mean and you aren't just assuming that it'll be okay. I don't really know why Maxis chose to list requirements that wouldn't work, but they did and you'll just have to either buy a new computer or play the game over a friend's house.
Taking back my "non-review...."

Within hours of emailing amazon with a complaint and posting a review complaining about the shipping date, my Sims 2 had shipped and will be here on Friday. The best of luck to everyone still getting an October ship date.

I completely agree with the reviewer Kaccedi that it seems unfair that the company is no longer into supporting the first version of their Sims games, which each cost about thirty bucks a pop. Also, I began having problems with my computer soon after installing expansion packs for the first version and think that it needs to be made clear that one seems to need a high grade computer to play these games.
The Sims 2 does look like a lot of fun, but from reading the system requirements, I doubt I'd be able to support it on my machine. And fifty bucks for this game? Quite an expensive piece of entertainment, if you ask me.
Best video game ever!
