Let me get one thing straight. I love the Tony Hawk franchise. Everytime a new Tony Hawk game comes out, it consumes my life for at least a month. My entire world becomes a huge skatepark, as I start looking for a good skating line everywhere I go. However, the reason Tony Hawk has become such a popular game is because it is a skating game that is actually easy to control, that just about anybody can pick up and play without any trouble, where you can do insane inhuman tricks that most people would never think of attempting in real life. Unfortunately, the Game Boy Advance version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is very hard to control. The game needs to be 3-D, not 2.5-D, like this game is. You will find yourself constantly turning the wrong direction because of this. In addition, the awkward placement of the buttons on the Game Boy Advance can be very frustrating. If you are used to playing on the Playstation or N64, it will take quite some time to get used to hitting the R and L buttons for the moves, the A button to ollie, and the B button to grind. I constantly found myself hitting the wrong buttons.

When it comes down to it, you will be playing the same Tony Hawk as you played on your Playstation, but with fewer levels. Because of the aforementioned control problems, you will not be able to pull off the insane stunts and scores that you could on your Playstion version. Even if you could, your character is so small that it would not look nearly as cool as it did on your TV at home. Why bother?

This game is good, but not awesome. It has replay value, but its no rpg. I personally like it better for nintendo because you get more into the game, as the rider. I skate so i know the whole physics deal, and its really very close to actual life skating, cept for the places of course. Pros - Making money to buy thing like stats and better decks. Great charcters, with different characteristics. much much replay value, i havent gotten bored yet!!(as of many months) God mode is awesome, and works very well with this game.(God mode is where you are looking over the person or persons) Cons - Easy enough to beat, and once you get it down its easy to do huge tricks. SPECIALS DONT DO MUCH!!! yes the specials dont do much if anythings, because you get tons of points for normal moves. Areas could be more complex, but its not exactly a bad thing to memorize them!
Great game, Great buy!!

This game was very well made. The angle that you watch your tiny skater is a little aqward though and it is hard to see object that you are aproaching at sometimes. They graphics (besides the small skater) are extremely good. I guess I can't rip them on the tiny skater part very much because, afterall, it is a very small screen. If you look carefully you can actually see your skater pulling off the tricks. This game is very cool and an essential buy for a fan of the series. If you are not a fan of the series I recommend that you don't buy this and go borrow your friends or something.

This is a cool game!

I had a lot of expectations went I bought this game. I wish I would have rented to first before I bought it. This game would be so much better with a multiplayer option. The game play hard to get used to and it is not much like the Playstation version. The graphics are impressive! I was stunned at the graphics quality for such a small machine, but I never got into the game. It wasn't one of those that kept my interest.

this is a great game

Tony Hawks 2 is the best gameboy game I've ever played. Career mode is excellent. It kept me glued to the screen on a 10 hour flight from London to San Fransico. Once you get used to the new view you will get addicted in seconds. I give this game 5 stars.

Just BE it!!!

There is a video game called Tony Hawks ProSkater 2. It lets you make your own skater and your own park. For each park there are different goals. You get total career cash if you complete a goal. Total career cash helps open new parks. There is floating cash which you can grab. You spend the cash on skateboards tricks or stats. All of these features give you a sense that you are the skater. No twisted ankles or broken bones necessary. One way the game could improve is to get rid of the blood. A big tip is to buy stats and tricks with your money. Definitely buy it!!!

great game

This is a really good game, especially for a handheld. You won't believe the 3d graphics and great gameplay. Even though it lacks several features (create-a-skater, park creator) that are included in non-handheld versions, you won't miss them too much. A great all-around game for the GBA addict all the way to a first timer.
