I was expecting a lot from this game. it had good reviews and it was a tony hawk game. I own tony hawk 1 and 2 on dreamcast already so i decided to buy it. but what i found out when i played it was that it was extremely hard to see even in direct light and that it was also extremly hard to figure out the controls. I couldn't get used to the top down camera view and i found it very difficult to complete the tasks asked on each level. everything seemed like a hassle in the game( even grinding on a ledge) and not much fun. the only thing i like about this game is the graffics but other than that i find the whole thing too small to see, too dark, to hard to get used to the controls and overall bad
Buy it.

Probably one of the most popular console games out, just starts to show off the power of the GBA. Excellent graphics and gameplay.
Awesome Game, could do some multiplayer action though!!

I think this game is the best game to come come out for the GBA! The graphics and gameplay are terrific and the number and tricks that exist could run into astronomical figures. The only bad thing which is more than made up about is the lack of multiplayer capability. All in all a good game that's well worth the list price.

I am sickened that the average score for this game based on everyone's reviews is 5 stars. Are you KIDDING ME? First off, this stupid isometric psuedo-3d view is INFURIATING. Good luck lining up those big rails and jumps, or any half-pipe for that matter. You'll have a great time flying off the edge of the ramp because you can't line up your skater straight to the jump. All those objectives that took a week to complete on the console versions will take you a month on this terrible platform. Get used to doing the Start-Retry thing cause you'll be doing it a lot. There's not nearly as many tricks in this abbreviated version, the boards are sometimes truncated as well. Skaters pretty much all look the same (since they're all 1 centimeter tall on the screen anyway). Part of the allure of Tony Hawk was GREAT control and the ability to see the board. All that is gone for Game Boy Advance. Avoid this game.

"THPS2" for GBA is vry awesome...looking, that is. The game is similar (and in a way, not similar) to the PSone and N64 versions, except some option have been omited (Skater and Park creator) and the levels are a bit...odd. The graphics are very nice, and that's why I gave it an extra star, instead of 3 stars. But the controls are a bit akward and the camera view is a little hard for most "Hawk" fans and Non-"Hawk" fans. The lighting needs to be brighter, because sometimes, you can't even find where your skater is! On top of all the cons, THPS2 is very awesome for the GBA
An absolutely amazing game.

The Game Boy Advance lineup just keeps getting better. If ever you need a reason to buy a GBA, this game is it. I'm not sure how Vicarious Visions did it, but somehow they managed to squeeze a game meant for a CD-ROM into the tiny GBA cartidge without sacrificing any of the fun whatsoever. The learning curve for this game is initially a little steep, but within an hour of purchase I was able to rack up a 300,000 point score on the first level. The game plays exactly like it's console bretheren, so anyone familiar with the original controls should feel right at home after about 5 minutes of playing. The levels aren't 3D, so sometimes it's hard to judge just where something is floating in space, but after a while you get used to the angles and the annoyance of the perspective (which was minor to begin with) goes away completely. The graphics best most things you'd see on a Sega Genesis, to give you an idea. It's not the PS2 graphics engine, but hey, for a Gameboy it's nothing short of a miracle! The music is also nicely done. Again, it's not the streamlined CD quality of the consoles, but the new background music fits the game perfectly. All the sound effects of the PS/DC version are present and accounted for, and have some amazing clarity. The controls are tight, the load times are nonexistant (it's a cartidge) and the only gripe I can possibly find is the total lack of multiplayer. This is dissapointing, since it was so fun on the consoles, but it doesn't detract from the game itself. I highly reccomend this game. It should be among the first you buy for your shiny new GBA, and it's most certaintly a must-have!

I was unsure to buy tony hawk but now I am gald that I did. To start off, the graphics are amazing. I also purchased Pitfall and Mario but THPS2 blows the top. The sound could've been better but still is was great. The gameplay is was I was amazed about. You can free skate to sharpen your skills, (it does take a little while to understand controls)or you can strart your own carrer as a professional skate border. Pick from numerous borders and skate with them to earn money to buy supplies or to unlock levels. You can also do single sessions. The graphics for the people are very well done and the background is also well done. However I am disapointed with one thing. That one thing is that you cannot create a player or your own park. However, the gamplay, sound, and graphics fulfill that disapointment therefore I can give THPS2 no less than 5 stars.
