Cheap good game

Nice game for about 15 bucks. Very cool funny animations and a lot of dudes to kill. It plays like arcade game in terms of life but overall is a good 1st person shooter with comedy. Highly recommended for something different with little money. I also recommend Serious Sam 1.

Are you serious!?

Ok the previous games were way better than this.
They've kept the humor of the game but as for the game play itself, it was just flat out bad.
I think what they did here was aimming this game at a younger audiance.
The game desigeners made all the enemies look like they were cartoons like in one part; there these giant mechanical spiders that screem and shoot acid balls at you. Realy lame. And by hearing these this screem all the time will just make you want to put the game on mute. And they've put way to many enemies in it, I mean WAY to many, even for the game itself. The game bogs down if it has to many programs all running at once. They made this game on impossable levels to play and if thats not bad enough, they made a level setting called "Mentel" witch I don't even know how anyone can get past the entire game with that.
They did have a couple of things that were good like; In the early stage of the game you can get into this giant orb and run down a bunch of guys, but thats it, its nowhere to be found threw out the rest of the game.

All in all, you can beat the game but its REALY streesfull. There will be times you'll ask yourself "Can anyone beat this game?!"

The best type of FPS.

It has gorgeous level designs that remind me of other games, like American McGee's Alice & Dungeon Siege II. It's also very ammusing; some of your targets are silly & not terribly bright, but they will bombard you in a patterend routine. The design is cartoony & will continue to look "good enough" 10 years down the line. Stay tuned for Serious Sam 3; supposedly comming in 2009.

I recommend configuring the controls so that the 2 main mouse buttons control the left & right of the camera, & the scroll up/scroll down control the up & down of the camera. Then assign the side mouse buttons to previous & next weapon, & clicking on the scroll button to fire.

The only thing I didn't like about the game was that I couldn't disable the subtitles on the level intro videos & that (except for the computer lady) all the women are voiced by men (which is probably supposed to be a joke).

I really loved Second Encounter, so I persisted for several hours before
uninstalling. The game has such a kiddy feel you find yourself looking for
that purple dinosaur we all love to hate. Mood of the background music is
just wrong, the cut-scenes are often distracting, and the level design
is cramped compared to Second Encounter.
My thanks to Croteam for their earlier work - never died so many times
while laughing! But this...just gonna pass.

Works with Vista and Lots of Fun

Works fine with my HP DV2500t VISTA laptop. My laptop has upgraded graphics & hard drive but is by no means a "gaming" machine.

SSII is lots of fun blowing up bad guys and stuff. Never takes itself too seriously - baddies are creatively funny and varied.

Nice soundtrack.

Only a couple bugs. One area - if you can't get out the exit door, you will have to redo the level (not all baddies always spawn that level but you are required to kill them before proceeding). And I have found that if your resolution changes - like hooking up an external monitor to your laptop - sometimes the save games get weird.

Cheap in the bargain bins. You won't regret the investment!

A Shooter with a sense of Humor.

Serious Sam 2 is an excellent upgrade from Serious Sam,The Second Encounter. The graphics are grand improvement over SS-The 2nd Encounter.Mental^s evil minions are even more funny,& ridiculous compared to SS-The 2nd Encounter. Most shooters are frightening, grim, and bloody.Serious sam 2 adds humor to the game when having to kill the evil minions using a variety of Serious & outlandish weapons. All-in-all Serious Sam 2 is worth it in price, humor, etc.

played second encounter, had to turn on god mode to finish.
This one has kind of a different beginning hot and cold on the first few levels, but towards the middle it gets real sweet, the soundracking is awesome, the in game movies look awful on pc, (never converted off of the console)but Sam is the last of the garage games, and this is a good one!

The Serious Sam franchise continues with this entertaining game. While not up to game like HL2, F.E.A.R. or Doom 4, etc., it is nevertheless an entertaining diversion.

Great graphics, a little harder...

I own SS the Second Encounter, which I've mastered, having played it several times. Maybe it's the fact that I know the maps on the older game, but this newer one seems a little harder to me. Nevertheless, it's great fun, the graphics are unbelievable, and the gameplay is excellent. I'm sure that when I beat the game, the maps will be more familiar to me and it will be easier to beat.

I don't like the fact that you sometimes don't accumulate your entire arsenal of weapons by the end of each world. I really liked having a choice of which weapon to fight the next upcoming battle with. It seems like I'm using the dang shotgun too much, when I really prefer the minigun or rocket launcher, which I rarely ever get my hands on. But all in all it's a good ride. Get it and beat it.
