An Excellent Futuristic Experience

Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones is a break-taking game that closely follows the outstanding move. You can play as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Mace Windu and fight against numerous enemies from the movie such as Jango Fett, Zam Wesell, Count Dooku, and several other baddies from the movie. There are two distinct modes of play: sidescrolling lightsaber action or 3D racing/combat levels. All 12 of these levels are top-notch well-designed levels with incredible complexity. The levels from the movie include Tatooine, Asteriod Fields, Geonois, and Coruscant and you can control speeders, Republic gunships, and Jedi starfighters. Plus, you can pick up different kinds of power-ups that can increase your jumping ability, fire power, speed, etc.

The graphics and sound in this game are nothing short of perfect. THQ's 3D levels are mind-blowing because it feels like you are in the vehicle dodging asteroids and avoiding enemy fire. As for side-scrolling levels, camera angles are just right, you are center stage, you can see enemies from a safe distance and the angle gives you enough time to pick up enemies that are sneaking up behind you. And you can't forget about the amazing cutscenes from the movie that you can see in between levels. Scenes are digitized and they look perfect with the high capability color of Game Boy Advance's LCD screen. The background music contains a lot of the songs from the movie and the superb sound effects make the game even more realistic.

All in all, this game is a must-buy if you like the movie. It is perfect for fans of all ages because it's not too hard or frustrating for young kids but older people will like it too because it's difficult to master.

The Force is strong in this one

Have you been waiting for the perfect Star Wars experience on the GBA? Wait no longer, for Star Wars: Episode 2: Attack of the Clones is here and it rocks. The 3-D ship levels are astounding and the lightsabre-sidescrolling levels are excellent. Unlike Jedi Power Battles, you can control which direction your lightsabre slashes and blocks and slash air units. And the boss battles are like in the movies: you could be fighting one on one or fighting a boss while slashing battle droids at the same time. If you were disappointed with JPB, don't worry because THQ has fixed their mistake. The visuals and the sound is excellent. This game rocks.

Great. Lacks nothing at all

First of all the music is by the John Williams Band, which is nothing short of amazing. The side scrolling levels are fun even if you are 3D game fan,I'm one too. If you loved the movie, at least try the game. It stays true to the movie and there are photos from the movie also. The 3D action is extrordinary. The game really pushes GBA's abilities to the limit. I also think some people may agree with me in saying that I hope Star Wars, Episode 2 will also have a game for PS2, X-Box, and Gamecube.

Only for die hard gamers

If you aren't a die hard gamer this game is likey not for you.

The controls in side scrolling lightsaber mode are complicated and non-intuitive. Example: Stop moving, press the A (attack) button first, _THEN_ the direction pad to direct your attack. With most games its simply attack in the direction you are moving. While this may be life in the real world ("uh oh, I better get ready to fight, Attack, Go for the chest") it doesn't work so well in this game where the goal is to move to the end of the level.

I didn't find the graphics to be all that impressive. It's pretty hard to well show lots of detail on the small GBA screen.

Honestly, take this game on a "test drive" (find a friend) before you shell out the hard earned dollars for it -- unless you're hardcore...

the good and the bad

This game to me could have been better. It definately could use a save button. The enemies are pretty easy to beat except there are so many of them.I would recommend this game to anyone who likes Star Wars. And if you get a lot of time to play your game.
I do like this game quite a bit. The levels are pretty good(graphics and gameplay) and pretty hard to beat. I would rate the hardness of this game at 4 1/2 stars. I also like how they organized the levels. Including 3 flying levels and 8 Ground levels. But you only get to use Mace Windu once.

Great Game

Attack of the Clones has easy controlls and very helpful force powers. There are bosses in it, unlike other games. It has great graphics and there are plenty of enemies. I highly recommend it!

Okay Game by the J-Man

This game is okay. I mean, for serious players it's easy, but for people who've only played a game or two, it's difficult. You have to press down in the direction you want to swing at with your lightsaber, which can get very annoying when in combat with a boss. Also, you cannot choose who you wish to be. And when that guy who did another review said you see clips from the movie, what he MEANT was you see pictures from the movie and words at the bottom telling you what's going on. You also have to get power-ups to get the force. Some parts of this game are quite tedious. Rent it. If you like it, buy it. I kind of regret buying it, but mine had technical problems with the graphics. Other than that, it's a cool game.

When i first saw the game was more less a side-scrolling game i was quite dissapointed but decided to buy it anyways, after a few hours of trying out the amzing game I was blown away by the sound quality, graphics, and even the side-scrolling part of the game, on top of all that it also has 3 3D levels, which take you in the cockpit of a jedi starfighter flying through an astroid field in persuit of jengo fett, chasing Count Dooku to the hagner before engaging in a lightsaber duel with him and racing through coruscant attempting to apprehend Zam Weissel. To me this would be a 5 star game is it was not too short, 11 levels is all you get.

Both a fan of STAR WARS and GameBoy Advance, when I got this game I was enthralled, it's so awesome! The controls are good, and the levels are entertaining and expertley-done. For people who like these games, you'll find this one is great fun. The only complaint is that the graphics should have been a bit better. But apart from that it's a reallty fun and exciting game. This is one of the most impressive GBA releases. I highly reccomend this one to any gaming fan and SW enthusiast.

To start off, we've all probably heard of the Star Wars saga now and their games as well. Now a new game has been added to the video game saga. Episode II isn't a bad game, but to say that the game is excellent is also saying much. The game is just good.

The gameplay is good and the action is brilliant. The contorls aren't bad though if the small GBA was designed like a SNES controller the controls would be easier to control. Also, I found that the controls are a bit unresponsive at times. That could be a problem to a gamer.

The problem with the game is that if you're going through a tough level and you die, there aren't any checkpoints in levels, meaning if you die you have to start completely from the beginning of a level, and to most gamers that can be a pain. You can't skip the scenes that show the story going on, so if you played through once you can't skip them.

And lets face it. Even for a GBA these graphics are down right terrible, and the game lacks replay value. Sure the gameplay is good but thats a first come first serve thing.

Lastly is sound. While some of the sound (actually probably all of it) come fromthe movie itself, the John Williams score doesn't sound too good coming from the GBA's speakers the same way it did coming from the SNES.

My advice would be not to buy this game, unless yur expectations are a lot smaller than what I expected from this title. I loved the Super Star Wars games on the SNES but this one is a let down compared to the others
