I thought this was a interesting game with some real twist, figuring out how to make all the weapons was a real challange.

Puzzles started out easy but ...

The puzzles from the middle to the end of the game were difficult. On a scale of 1 to 5, as an adventure gamer I am probably a 3, but I hit the wall enough times with this game that I had to get outside help --- I had no idea, even with the in-game hints, how to make gun powder or acid with my inventory items! I did enjoy the game, but the frustration factor was high for me.

But even with the need for help, overall I must say I enjoyed the game. I just didn't enjoy the parts where I was banging my forehead on the keyboard when I could not figure out what to do next.

If you liked the book this may be for you

This more of a fan work then a fully dedicated game, If you've read Mysterious island this is kinda neat because you get to see a lot of the locations on the island (although they are far closer together then you would think :). But as a stand alone game, not so great, it's mostly just fan work.

Fun, but somewhat challenging...

Given that this was the first adventure game I had played in a long time, I found that it had almost too many options. Which isn't exactly a bad thing, but makes it difficult to continue in some points of the game.

You have to do a lot of exploring in this game....and I mean look EVERYWHERE or you will inevitibly miss something that you have to have to finish the game.

The game was very short, but fun because it forces the player to think and solve ALOT of puzzles. Overall, I enjoyed it, but at one point in the game became very overwhelmed and was forced to stop and find a walkthrough to help me with my next step.

This game also had problems operating on my computer. I had to go to the options menu and change it so that it operated off of software rather than hardware(default setting) to use the phone option. This was somewhat of a headache because once you make the volta battery in the game, you are forced to use it, and it would consistently cause my computer to shut the game off on it's own.

Great Game

Return To Mysterious Island is about a young woman on a round the world solo sailing voyage who becomes shipwrecked during a storm and winds up on a strange island that isn't on any maps. There's also a Jules Verne twist to the story line but I don't want to spoil the plot. As far as entertainment value it ranks right up there with Grim Fandango and Syberia but surpasses them on some levels. The graphics and voice acting are wonderful, best I've seen on a PC game. The puzzles are clever and logical which makes them a delight to solve. My only complaint is that the game is too short as you don't want it to end. I did have some problems with the game crashing at first but changed the software and hardware settings to slow and it was fine after that. I would highly recommend this game.

I never got to see the ending!

If you're into storylines, this isn't for you. It's too much about heavy thinking, building things and using your inventory than providing you with an indepth plot and some good characters. I enjoyed the graphics, but it wasn't as good as most out there. I spent about 2 weeks on and off with this game, and when I finally got to the end movie, there was a glitch and all I got was a black screen. It's pretty obvious what happens so I didn't bother to replay it, plus I wasn't into it enough to care what happened. Too much brain work involved.

This game is laborious

I've been playing adventure games for several years and always seem to have trouble with games from the Adventure Company. The inventory acquisition logic leaves a whole lot to be desired. Initially it was quite entertaining. But then the game designers' logic took a wild turn and I now find myself GUESSING as to what the game designer wants me to do next rather than thinking about what the next step should be following in logical sequence. More specifically:

1. Pixel hunting. It does not make a game more interesting if the item you require only shows up if you slooooooooowly move your mouse around the screen. Of course, if what you need is logical and you know you are looking for it, it is no longer a pixel hunt. There is no logic for when and where to obtain items.

2. The acquisition and combination and use logic sucks. I am always worried that I combined something into another item and cannot dismantle it if I need an item used to build it. Do I keep pixel hunting for an unknown item? Do I move on to something else? Do I give up?

I would classify this game as frustrating and laborious. I have none of these questions or problems when I play a game from any other publisher/designer so I am having a difficult time understanding why.

I don't like puzzles either. I'm sure there are puzzles ahead for me but I don't really believe I am going to get that far. So, I don't really care if you buy this game or not.

the real drawback are the controls. they are very uncomfortable and slow. this is not an addictive game either.

Too short!

This is a fun little game. I am a fan of the "Myst style" games, with puzzles and interactive environments. This is a quick game that took me only two evenings to finish off.

The style is nice, the graphics are really wonderful and the story line is intriguing. As the character, Mina, you are stranded on a mysterious island with no way to contact the outside world. After discovering the ruins of previous inhabitants, you must use what is available to you on the island and your own ingenuity to solve the puzzle of Nemo and use the Nautilus to escape.

I have two problems with the game: the length and the sophomoric feel of the puzzles. It is waaaay too short. The puzzles are simply not on par with other games of this genre.

I also would not recommend to it a serious gamer, but I did have fun while it lasted.

Great fun!!

I really loved playing this game. I thought the puzzles were fun and challenging, and the graphics were really great. I also really liked the navigation. The game was a little on the short side, but is priced accordingly. All in all a very enjoyable experience.
