My son has this game and Hurricane Havoc and he loves them both. They have great graphics and of course all the rescue heroes you could ever want. It isn't super educational but it doesn't help with hand eye coordination. He can really use the mouse for a 4 year old.

My son LOVES Imaginext building sets. He is 9 years old and his friends love them, too. Even the older siblings of these friends. They make up all kinds of stories. They are using their imaginations instead of playing video games. My son begged for this software and I gave in. Within a few hours I regretted my decision. Why did I let Fisher Price come up with his story lines and adventures when he was doing it on his own? That is what is SO great about Imaginext--finally a toy that will cause even older kids to leave the computer and video games. Luckily, I think he found the software to be boring. He played it one evening and that was it. Money wasted, yes. But, I'm glad he's back to creating on his own. I also regret that Imaginext made a video to go with the toy. Let the kids make up the stories!

Outstanding play value as the player has a productive purpose:
to rescue. Easy for child to grasp. Well executed and allows
child to repeat a game at any level.

I purchased this game for my 5 year old son. The 4 levels that are in the game have incredible graphics and were very entertaining for my son to play. The problem is there are only 4 levels. After a day of playing this game my son became bored and has barely played it since because he has become so familiar with the situations in each level. You can change the level of difficulty in the game but that does not change the scenerios faced in each level. Once again, 4 great levels, but only 4 levels.
Mind numbing

This game makes you do the same things over and over, it never holds my son's attention long enough to get to the next level. There is no choice of games you have to do every thing in order. We have another Rescue Heroes game and both my boys 3 and 6 love it, but this one is a dog!

We have had hours of fun playing this game together. We have two grandsons, aged 7 & 3. They have enjoyed becoming the Pirate King over and over again.
It has just the right amount of challenges and the fact that you can remodel your ship has been a source of joy for our 3 year old grandson. You can also print your achievement certificates and copies of your ships. It was well worth the money! If you want hours of fun with your 3 to 8 year olds buy it and you too, can become the Pirate King!
As an adult some of the conversational dialogue is tediously repetitious.

I agree with other reviews that the mouse clicking is very difficult. It's difficult to maneuver the men around. My son tried for a few minutes, became so frustrated, I finished the one mission, but couldn't get him to do any more. Would recommend the I Spy software - ages 6-10, but he loves it! Don't have to know how to read.

I gave it a 1 because they did not have a 0, to give. I bought this game for my son and I try to install it and it tells me that it has encountered an error. I go to the web site and it tells me what to do with that error, but after I do what it told me it does the same error thing again. My son and I both got so frustrated and finally gave up. I am returning it to the place where I purchased it for a full refund. Good luck for those of you that also bought this Horrible Game.
