OK this game is just plain cool.Heres a list.
COOLS
-levels ARE WAY better than tony hawk series.
-8 really cool pros that are'nt publicity freaks but actually good skaters.
-Graphics are decent as hawk series.
-Music is really good.about half rap and half rock.
-Im a real life skateboarder and can tell you that the tricks in the game are realistic unlike tony hawk with that coffin grind and handstand junk.
FOOLS
-The create a player mode is worth squat.
-the game is beaten easily in about 3 hours but still really fun to play.
All in all, a really good game.I'm not a tony hawk hater,i have most of his games and like him as a skater, but this game is more concrete and realistic than his series. If u want a skateboard game where u get crazy tricks and unrealistic air, this game is not for u.Try some games like tony hawk 1 and 4 for that.

Grind session is not a very good game. If you are going to buy a skateing game, you should buy one of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games.

Grind session has 5 playable characters, about 10 levels, and lots of secret characters.on each level, you have to do tricks to get pro points, which you use to unlock other levels. there are also objects you can break to earn extra pro points. there are also 2 contest levels.

when you do alot of harder tricks, you can fill up a meter that makes your guy move faster. also it makes him spin easier.

Its such an awesome game with its 9 levels. It has lots of glass to break through. Photo shoots,8 awesome pros. you even get to go to the Slam City Jam where you can pull off 1080's on their halfpipe. I loved this game its the most awesome game ever it even beats Tony Hawks Pro Skater!!!

I played the demo version of this game off this cd I got in the mail one day. ...The skaters look like they just ate too much at Waffle House, and the tricks resemble skating from the early 80's. I wouldn't waste my time or money on it, even from the free demo disc. After playing this game for about 40 minutes I threw it into the cat's litter box.

Not worth the time and money

Grind Session looks like a new differint style Skateboarding game to get your hands on. It is if your getting sick of THPS style however there is a down side: The graphics are very primitive, however, I thought the skateboarders wipe outs were somewhat life-like. The music sounds like elevator bands trying to preform rock songs. The sound is somewhat OKAY but sounds like it was produced by banging on trash cans and slapping wood on bricks. All in all i would say this game is about 2 hours of fun, and then youll froget about it.

Better than THPS

Even though THPS has more levels and somewhat better graphics, GS is a better game (in some cases). It is way easier to do and land a trick. Less level than THPS, but more chalenges to get to the next level. Some levels are easier than on THPS. If you want a little to much of a realistic game buy Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 or 2. If you want a more fun, less realistic game buy Grind Session.

less mainstream than tony hawk

Grind session has far better animation, art and tricks than tony hawk or pro skater. I also enjoyed the secret level and music variety!

Grind Sessions is a great game but is it as good as THPS?

After reading the reviews for Grind Sessions (which I already own I was just surfing) I saw that ever person said it surpasssed Tony Hawk Pro Skater. I have to disagree with this. GS does have THPS on moves but THPS2 will has more moves than GS (has anybody tried double taps on THPS 2 theres a bunch of moves that weren't in the first). The levels in GS are also a LOT bigger than in both Tony Hawks and some of them are a lot better (lets face it the Dream House kicks). But I THPS kills GS in areas such as graphics, gameplay, the skaters available, control ect. Don't get me wrong I love Grind Sessions I played it for almost a mounth straight but then I got the Demo level for THPS2 about two weeks ago and I haven't even touched it since. If you can only have ONE skate game then wait .............. and get THPS2. Of course thats my opinion you do what you want.

Grind Session Is VERY Dissapointing - Stick With Tony Hawk!

Grind Session is a rip-off of Tony Hawk Pro Skater. Grind Session's gameplay resembles THPS enormously! Grind Session might have been much less of a dissapointment if it was released after Street Sk8er and before THPS, but sadly it was released just too late. BOTTOM LINE: This game might pass for a decent blockbuster rental but nothing more. Don't spend a dime on this title! Wait for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2!

Terrific game.

Grind Session has got to be my favorite game for PlayStation outside of WWF Smackdown. The tricks you can pull off are amazing, the levels are fun and full of challenges, and the soundtrack kicks with bands like Black Flag and Sonic Youth.. The game has better controls, better variety and more moves than Tony Hawk. Plus, you aren't always falling when you try basic tricks like Nollies and simple airs so you can have a solid, fun session. I especially like pulling off those sick combos where you can score more than 10,000 points on one insane series of tricks. The game has eight great levels like SF Mission, Burnside skate park and the Brooklyn Banks. The good thing about this game is that you can beat it with a little practice, but there are still challenges like unlocking rooms in a Dream House by getting a perfect score on a level. All in all, a solid investment and a fun game for everyone. A+.
