While at first the graphics may seem outdated, the gameplay and storyline more then make up for it. The deep 3d battles pull you into the adventure. While many RPG's may be limited towards freedom, Wild Arms is an exception. With tons of secrets and side quests, you'll want to play it numerous times just to see everything. This game is strongly recomended for anyone who likes a great RPG.

When the demons seek revenge and the world is starting to go through choas who do you yell for, The wild arms gang.

This is a great RPG if you liked the old SNES RPG's then you'll really like Wild Arms it has ok graphics but if your a person who really cares about graphics then this game might not be good for you , but if your a person going for storyline, and hard puzles then you'll love this it has a great storyline, and some pretty hard puzles to figure out. One of my favorite characters is Hanpan the wind mouse, he's fast and Jack Van Burace best friend. Jack is one of the main characters he is a treasure hunter(thief also). Rudy is 15 year old, dream chaser he handle the deadly arms and isn't what he seems.Cecilia is princess that is practicing magic, she has a secert weapon and doesn't even know about it. I think this game is great I would give it a 5, but i care a little bit about the graphics. Go get it gamers!

Wild Arms challenging and fun

Wild Arms is an older game so the graphics aren't as good as the newer RPG games, but the storyline and characters are a lot of fun. I enjoyed the chance to control each character in their own little story lines and then joining up again as a trio. There are many side stories that make you want to go back and play the game again just to figure out the side stories. Wild Arms is fun and entertaining and should be given a chance if you enjoy RPG games.

Boring Storyline

A standard RPG storyline is saving the world. Unfotunately, that's pretty much the storyline here. And isn't that what makes an RPG? It's battles aren't exactly original either.. This game was'nt as bad as 1 star, I'd give it three. (One word to describe this: Average. Another? Bland.) It's mean, but I think this deserves less than 4 1/2 stars so I want to lower it. Heh. All in all: C+ Suggestions for something even better: Thousand Arms (not to be confused with Wild Arms, THOUSAND Arms is a great game, I like it alot...I mean, no one can put finger prints on it's case or I'll get real upset...my favorite. *teardrop*) Suikoden 2, very fun classic. Xenogears. It deserves more attention. >=P Highly cool, reccommended. (But not over my Thousand Arms) ^_^

don't overlook this one!

A couple of years ago I picked up a copy of Wild Arms 2 and I really enjoyed the game (despite hearing that it is the black sheep of the 3 Wild Arms games). I enjoyed the game so much that I was willing to track down a copy of the first Wild Arms game and give this one a shot, too. Once again, I wasn't disappointed. This was one of the first RPGs on the Playstation (one) and predates Final Fantasy VII. Right then, you should understand that the quality of graphics is naturally going to be much weaker, but this is an RPG and graphics really should not matter. What matters is that the game is fun to play, even years later. In many ways, this game is more similar to the SNES RPGs that preceeded the Playstation rather than the games that followed, but once again, this game was a lot of fun to play.

The story is the basic "Save the World" plot, but it has to grow into that story. We take three characters who have no connection to each other: Jack, Rudy, Cecilia. These three characters come together and get involved in a quest that with each step grows larger in scale and scope until it eventually builds into the "save the world" quest that we have come to know and love. For the most part, the game feels like it is mission based. You have to go someplace, fight, and return and find out where the next place you have to go and fight is. I know, this is essentially any RPG (or video game, for that matter), but it just feels more like a mission based story than unraveling the story as you progress through the game.

There is a strong puzzle solving element to this game (though not as bad as the block puzzles from WA2), but it was used effectively in Wild Arms. The story was fairly interesting and the minor characters were fun to see pop up from time to time. By the end of the game things started to get a little absurd, but this is a fun little game and it should not be overlooked due to age or graphical deficiencies.

This is a very good rpg. Some of the puzzles are difficult. For a one disc game it is very long,it took me 50 hours. But it was well worth it.

Simple game for simple folk

I love this game. It's simple and easy to play. There aren't multiple dimensions, or options, so it keeps things nice and easy. The directional references are easy to follow, but not red light obvious. I liked the battles, nicely patterned but not boring. The story line is just lie every other story line, group develops, each has issues to overcome so they can save the world from what man has done to it. They face a monster/alien enemy. There are plenty of dimensional shifts, and an android thrown in for fun. Overall, this isn't the worlds hardest RPG, but it's fun, and that's what gaming's all about.

A fine little game. Much better than the over hyped Final Fantasy stuff - Terrific fun, great puzzles. If more titles thought about the gameplay and less about the graphics life would be better.

A truly great storyline

"Wild Arms" probably has one of the better story lines that I have seen in console RPGs. At the beginning, you play the three different characters separately; this basically let's you get used to the strengths and weaknesses of each character. Shortly after this, all three meet up, and they pretty much stay together for the rest of the game. Not only are the characters interesting people, but the plot is very well done and executed (though it is one of those save the world plots). Combat in the game was pretty fun (or at least I thought so), though I can see where some people might not like it as there really isn't a whole lot of strategy to it. Some of the puzzles in "Wild Arms" can be a little challenging, but most of them are not too hard to figure out. The game has one thing that some people might consider a downside (I didn't); pretty much everything in the game was polygonal making the graphics a bit dated for the time. One thing I almost forgot to mention is the game introduction: when you first start up the game, you are treated to an anime style production that introduces you to all the characters. This game is a lot of fun to play and well worth spending the money for it.
