Boring Storyline

A standard RPG storyline is saving the world. Unfotunately, that's pretty much the storyline here. And isn't that what makes an RPG? It's battles aren't exactly original either.. This game was'nt as bad as 1 star, I'd give it three. (One word to describe this: Average. Another? Bland.) It's mean, but I think this deserves less than 4 1/2 stars so I want to lower it. Heh. All in all: C+ Suggestions for something even better: Thousand Arms (not to be confused with Wild Arms, THOUSAND Arms is a great game, I like it alot...I mean, no one can put finger prints on it's case or I'll get real upset...my favorite. *teardrop*) Suikoden 2, very fun classic. Xenogears. It deserves more attention. >=P Highly cool, reccommended. (But not over my Thousand Arms) ^_^

Simple game for simple folk

I love this game. It's simple and easy to play. There aren't multiple dimensions, or options, so it keeps things nice and easy. The directional references are easy to follow, but not red light obvious. I liked the battles, nicely patterned but not boring. The story line is just lie every other story line, group develops, each has issues to overcome so they can save the world from what man has done to it. They face a monster/alien enemy. There are plenty of dimensional shifts, and an android thrown in for fun. Overall, this isn't the worlds hardest RPG, but it's fun, and that's what gaming's all about.

This game is terrific! You must play it!

I love this game! You must have a memory card to play it.I speak from experience! There is forty something hours of gameplay. The intro is great and so is the animation. It's a one player game but two people can play it.I've beaten it several times and never tire of it.Here's the basic summery. You have three characters. You choose who to play first. The characters are: a princess/sorceress,a treasure hunter and an outcast. All of the charaters are very well drawn up.At first you play out all their scenarios. It takes a little over an hour but, then you soon find out that's only the introduction! After that the characters stay teamed up and face many optional and nonoptional quests. You sail around the land called Filgaia in a ship, travel in the Earth Golem and fly in the Protowing. You figure out secrets from each characters past. You journey to far off regions to find all twenty-two mythical guardians of Filgaia. The evil metal demons are endangering the world that is why you must free all the guardians only then can you win.

I can't say enough good things about this game.

It has a catchy western theme without making the characters seem like cowboys, character development is good, graphics are nice, the scenes and settings are aestheticly pleasing. The combat mechanics are fun with plenty of options without being too complicated or too simplistic.

More people would surely know about this game, and own it, had it not been released around the same time as Final Fantasy VII, which we all know most of the gaming community purchased and played for quite a long time.

Wild ARMs is a great, great game, and since it's years after its release, you can usually find it used or reduced at a nice price. It's a game I would have easily paid $50 for, it's been lots of good fun for me.

I love this classic. Literally. Okay?

I rented this game awhile back and kept renewing it until I beat it, and regardless of that, I still want to play it again. It's a classic PlayStation RPG that was overlooked by many in the wake of Final Fantasy VII. The story line's pretty cliche and the graphics always resemble that of a Super Nintendo RPG, but that's what I love about it. I'm a sucker for the old school graphics, though the battle graphics for Rudy, Jack and Cecilia (the main characters) kinda suck, but it doesn't bring the game down any. Even though the plot's cliche, it's told VERY well and will keep you playing just to see what'll happen next. Then you'll want to see what'll happen then. And so on and so forth. The soundtrack's so good, I never skipped the intro. I really miss this game. And you will, too, if you love classic RPGs and somehow pass this one up.

Khhk, khhk, khhk.

This is the first RPG I have ever played. It was amongst my first PS games, also, so it was generally a new experience for me... But, I'm not going to let that "The-first-time-is-special" thing get in the way of a fair review. The graphics, as far as I can recall, were on par for the time period. (And despite what others may say, the graphics are roughly equal to Final Fantasy VII's. Seriously. Play FFX, then play FFVII. You'll be incapable of determining which of the polygons on your screen is Cloud and which is a three-headed dinosaur intent on devouring Candyland. Or something. Point being, don't try to diss WA in comparison to FFVII.) They're not that great now, but I am more than happy to live with them to play through WA again. The characters, as it has been said before yet must be said again, are superbly developed... The music is amongst the best I can recall hearing (When my PS finally dies, the coroner's report will list "Zed's Battle Music" as the primary cause of death). The plot is a generic save-the-world type, but then again, I can't think of any RPGs at this exact moment that aren't. (Except the "save the nation/continent/island/75% of the world/apartment-complex types.) The villains are great, and conflict with each other in pretty complex ways (Zed thinks he's underestimated and therefore goes off on his own to defeat the heroes, Zeik revives Mother then finds out her goals are different from his and then uses the heroes to kill her, that sort of thing) which is pretty cool and (if I'm not mistaken) unique... Plenty of sidequests and such, and... Well... All in all, the game is generally very good. The only downsides I can think of are the bad-as-of-now graphics (But then, Halo 2's graphics will look just as bad sometime in the not-too-distant future, so HA!), lack of Zed sans shirt, and the game is a little too easy (But in it's defense, it's pretty hard to create a challenging game that isn't 'challenging' to the point that you wanna throw the controller across the room. Really. I'd like to see YOU make such a game.). Now, I suppose I've done enough random and unprofessional reviewing for the night, so... Eh, I hope this was of some help to someone, at least, and; GO BUY THE GAME!

The best rpg ever(next to final fantasy)

This is definitly the best game next to final fantasy. The music is not annoying, the characters are memorable, it has an excellent story, the graphics, even though they are 2D, are great. I absoloutly love this game!

My first RPG ....*sigh*....

Back around playstation's release there were only 4 real RPGs. Beyond the Beyond, Suikoden, Vandal Hearts and Persona. I had just graduated from an NES to a playstation (I know) and was in the mood for a game with a story, i spent most of my time playing jumping flash...quality...true quality. Wild ARMS was the first RPG to catch my eye. It has a great story, revolving around the war with demons and an ancient past, good graphics, and a very cool/ very subtle western theme. The opening was my favorite and yours, music accompanied by ANIME!!. Great job whoever did it!! (I still love that song). Battle was simple and strait forward, the crest graph magic system and ARMS make the characters more unique and interesting. The worst part to the game was the sequel, a disappointment sadly. It is a great game and all true RPGers should have at least played it.

The game is truly spectacular. The graphics [are not very good] but the storyline a gameplay are truly the best i have ever seen(next to Secrets of Mana for Super NES). I beat this game in about 23 hours. The ending is kinda lame, but all in all it is a true gem. I say, go out and buy this game. It is a must have for all die-hard RPG fans

I'M NOT SO WILD FOR WILD ARMS
