Construct a fortress from Tetris puzzle pieces to protect it from the opponent's firing weapons. Select from four eras: Prehistoric, medieval, pirate and space. The weapons provided are dependent on the era choice. Your weapons will defend your fortress while you build it with falling puzzle pieces. As the fortress gets bigger and more solid, it becomes more difficult for the opposing weapons to destroy.
Occasionally, you receive twerps, cavemen, knights, or pirates. Defensive twerps rebuild the damaged areas of the fortress while offensive twerps attack the enemy. Three game modes keep it interesting: battle, blitz, and tournament. Battle is the original mode, blitz has more weapons, and tournament is four games using all four eras.
Though it has a cute cartoon look, it's not the most graphically rich Game Boy Advance game. Once a battle is over, that's it. There's no new level or battle. The only option is to start a new game and play a more advanced level. It's not much game for the price.

This game is one of the best games I've played. I am a big fan of strategy games, and this is on the top of my list. With three modes of play, three difficulty levels, this game will provide anyone with hours of fun. There are four levels, each one is a different time period, they are: pre-historic, medeivil, pirate, and space. The main thing you do in this game is create a fortress by stacking different shaped blocks on top of eachother. Now you may think, "o, this is just like tetris, I'm not wasting my money on a remake of a game that came out in the 80's." but it isn't. Sure the placing of blocks so they fit with eachother sounds boring, but when they all fit, they create wall sections of your thriving, or pitiful fortress. With every couple blocks that fall, there will be a twerp block, and cannon blocks, you can decide whether the twerp that will appear out of the twerp block will be either offensive, or defensive. The cannon blocks fall, and imediately (can't spell that word) start shooting at your enemy's fortress.
Overall, this game was great, and I would suggest that anyone who has a gameboy advance to purchase this game.

Well this game is ok. I'm glad I rented it first,I do like puzzle and stradegy games alot... but this isn't the greatest. Their are three modes of play, and four stlyes of fort sites to build your fort on,Pre-historic,Medevil,pirate, and space. It does remind you of tetris, you build your fort up with different shaped blocks and get weapons like cannons or lasers to destroy each others fort. Sometimes creatures walk by and smack your fort for no reason. You can't control what your weapons or twerps attack or repair(except bombs).Even if you like stradegy and puzzle games I would think about it before buying it.
Here is a tip: build a tower of blocks 3 squares wide and 8 squares high and you'll get a " " tower(" " it depends on what kind of battle site your building on).A monster comes and will destroy some of your oppents fort.
Even though I got bored of it I still keep picking it up and playing it,(It's Addictive!).
does not compare to rampart

This game gets lost in what it wants to be. Strategy or Puzzler? Sadly, it does not do either well. Fortress becomes dull very quick. The different "stages" are cosmetic and provide no real game play value. It is over way to fast. Rent it first but I do not see this game high on many people's lists. My standards for a pocket game are pretty low. All I expect is something to kill time on a trip or just sitting around. Fortress feels like forced labor in which you never get anything done.
Good Strategy game

This game should be very interesting. It is a tetris like strategy game that works through the ages building and destroying castles. You must build up your castle defensivley, and add weapons that correspond with the era that you are in to destroy your opponent's castle as he/she tries to demolish yours. Another great feature in this game is the multiplayer mode. You can not only fight against a computer enemy with generated results, but you can duel a human friend. This should be a very well like game. Majesco is becoming a very well known game making company very fast, with this and Iridion 3d.
It's a nice game for the price

...Who ever gave this video game 1 star probably doesnt remember that they only spent [a little] on this game. And for [a little] game..it's pretty good. It's a pretty simple concept with some strategy added on the side. The battles are short, the blitz's are short, and the tournament's are short. There is no actual "end" to the game..which in this case is sort of a good thing. Just mindless fun. And hey..there's multiplayer! What more could you ask from one of the cheapest video games ever made for gameboy? I should warn you though..Don't be fooled by those cute little characters on the box! This is DEFINITELY NOT a game for little kids..not because of violence or anything..just the whole concept if probably a little out of their range. RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH NO MONEY OR ARE BEING INTRODUCED TO THE GAMEBOY ADVANCE CONTROLS
I am not sure if I should call this Tetris or war.

Fortress is definitely an odd spin on the old Tetris formula. You start by dropping blocks to create a fortress. Instead of eliminating lines, as done in the classic Tetris, assembling a 3 by 2 grouping of 6 blocks will create a solid stone. After completing a predetermined amount of your "Fortress", you will be given a catapult piece. This piece will be used to attack your opponent's fortress.
At first, the game appeared to be a Tetris clone. I started stacking blocks between two flag poles. This seemed rather easy to me until the flag poles started to move, then it got a little frustrating. After blocks started fusing together, I started to get the general idea. The enemy began firing at my fused blocks within the first minute of play. I realized at this point I probably should have read the manual before playing.
The second time playing Fortress, the point behind the game still eluded me. Granted, I was now stacking blocks like a pro, but this time, the bombardment still continued as scheduled. No matter what I do, the game will not allow you to build a castle and completely defend it. I equate this game to building a sandcastle on the beach. Lets say you build it in the tide. Every time a wave comes along, it destroys a part of what you made, so therefore, you can never complete your castle. You keep doing this until frustration sets in and you quit all together.
I do not recommend this game to anyone. Fortress is a poor attempt to modify the Tetris formula. This game fails to entertain on any level. Unless you need a paper weight, skip this title.

This game is okay. It's not the most exciting game, but if you need something to get started with, I would reccomend this game.

I'm 25 and can't win. Although I'm not the best at all video games but I think I'm decent. It's hard for the little ones but it is fun even if you don't win.
Tetris fan? This game is for you!

This is a strategy game in which you build your fort in many different eras. You build up a fort with tetris like blocks and can add cannons and other destructive weapons. Your goal is to destroy your oppenents fort before they destroy yours. It should provide hours of fun.
