I'm 25 and can't win. Although I'm not the best at all video games but I think I'm decent. It's hard for the little ones but it is fun even if you don't win.

This game is okay. It's not the most exciting game, but if you need something to get started with, I would reccomend this game.

...Who ever gave this video game 1 star probably doesnt remember that they only spent [a little] on this game. And for [a little] game..it's pretty good. It's a pretty simple concept with some strategy added on the side. The battles are short, the blitz's are short, and the tournament's are short. There is no actual "end" to the game..which in this case is sort of a good thing. Just mindless fun. And hey..there's multiplayer! What more could you ask from one of the cheapest video games ever made for gameboy? I should warn you though..Don't be fooled by those cute little characters on the box! This is DEFINITELY NOT a game for little kids..not because of violence or anything..just the whole concept if probably a little out of their range. RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH NO MONEY OR ARE BEING INTRODUCED TO THE GAMEBOY ADVANCE CONTROLS

Construct a fortress from Tetris puzzle pieces to protect it from the opponent's firing weapons. Select from four eras: Prehistoric, medieval, pirate and space. The weapons provided are dependent on the era choice. Your weapons will defend your fortress while you build it with falling puzzle pieces. As the fortress gets bigger and more solid, it becomes more difficult for the opposing weapons to destroy.
Occasionally, you receive twerps, cavemen, knights, or pirates. Defensive twerps rebuild the damaged areas of the fortress while offensive twerps attack the enemy. Three game modes keep it interesting: battle, blitz, and tournament. Battle is the original mode, blitz has more weapons, and tournament is four games using all four eras.
Though it has a cute cartoon look, it's not the most graphically rich Game Boy Advance game. Once a battle is over, that's it. There's no new level or battle. The only option is to start a new game and play a more advanced level. It's not much game for the price.
I am not sure if I should call this Tetris or war.

Fortress is definitely an odd spin on the old Tetris formula. You start by dropping blocks to create a fortress. Instead of eliminating lines, as done in the classic Tetris, assembling a 3 by 2 grouping of 6 blocks will create a solid stone. After completing a predetermined amount of your "Fortress", you will be given a catapult piece. This piece will be used to attack your opponent's fortress.
At first, the game appeared to be a Tetris clone. I started stacking blocks between two flag poles. This seemed rather easy to me until the flag poles started to move, then it got a little frustrating. After blocks started fusing together, I started to get the general idea. The enemy began firing at my fused blocks within the first minute of play. I realized at this point I probably should have read the manual before playing.
The second time playing Fortress, the point behind the game still eluded me. Granted, I was now stacking blocks like a pro, but this time, the bombardment still continued as scheduled. No matter what I do, the game will not allow you to build a castle and completely defend it. I equate this game to building a sandcastle on the beach. Lets say you build it in the tide. Every time a wave comes along, it destroys a part of what you made, so therefore, you can never complete your castle. You keep doing this until frustration sets in and you quit all together.
I do not recommend this game to anyone. Fortress is a poor attempt to modify the Tetris formula. This game fails to entertain on any level. Unless you need a paper weight, skip this title.

A little while back I bought this game at a store, for [$$$], because I thought it looked fun, and it seemed at the time to look alot like Worms: Armageddon, which I really enjoy. When I got home I hated to say that I wasted that money. This game is not appealing to me, although it may be fun to some who are tetris fans, since this somewhat resembles that, but thats what I found odd, because I liked tetris, but this made me yawn after 10 minutes of gameplay. There only few levels and you just have to make a large building and blast down your opponents building. You cannot even shoot when you want to. All that you do is stack and then lay back and watch the slow combat take place. Well, I hope I am not the only one who doesn't care for this game. I don't know what was on the creators mind when they were making this, but I don't think they succeeded in making a great game. One-star-rating is a little harsh, but, this just isn't a game for me....
It could've been a contender

The concept was good. Use tetris blocks to build a fortress, and then arm yourself and begin to destroy your opponents fortress. In the process you can repair your own using tetrads and return fire. It sounds like an action packed game, but it's not. Fortress gives you almost no control over the weapons. This results in you playing constant defense. If they had made the game to where you target your opponent, it would be a much better experience. Along with the problems in this game are the somewhat primitive graphics and sound. Other than the mentioned problems, the game can be fun. It's like tetris with a war element. All in all, it's not a bad game, it just could be so much better.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fun very fun. like tetris but u build a base (different bases depending on what time period u choose) and u fight an opponents base by placing guns and cannons on your base, sometimes big monsters and stuff will come too and attack.
