This game is one heck of an amazing game! Having the ability to
make your own ship, create a crew and send your ships into service, and also export them into DS9: Diminion Wars is great. Although you cannot control your starship in Warp II misions, t is great to construct them, but with DS9, you can control them. I would recomend this game to any body that has anyinterest with Star Trek!
really good game!

The opportunity to write your own missions is the best part. Read the directions for writing missions carefully! I would like to have seen the Prometheus Class Starship from the Deluxe or Add-On-pack printable on "Systems." In this program, you have a whole library of sound and visual effects to program into a mission if you are patient enough to learn how to program your own missions. It still lacks the variety of crewmembers from the Original Series of Star Trek, the same problem found in the Original and Add-On Pack. Occasionally, I have had problems with the sound quality. To solve this, go back to the Start Bar and go back to the Warp2 icon in Accessories. It has not been as "back-compatible" to the Original Starship Creator and Add-On Pack as far as Imported Missions I programmed myself as I expected. When you find out that all you have to do is import then remove present ships from each admirals fleet, and gain all those credits suddenly, (hundreds of thousands!)what you have accomplished sending ships on missions and succeeding in your goals doesn't mean as much as earning them the hard way. It sure helps when you want to equip your ships with all the Advanced Option equipment! A Plus is the ability to print various systems on the Starships. The exterior shots are striking! A good buy for the extras.
A true adventurer's dream...

Being a big fan of Star Trek from age eight on...it was a pleasant thrill to be able to get a game that allowed the creation of your own starships. It keeps me entertained for hours on end, and it is great fun for a storyteller to be able to put together your own crews (This program works great with the ST:TNG Roleplaying Game). I can use it for computer interfacing...deck plans..you name it. Enjoy the program not because it's exciting or adventurous...enjoy it for the way it involves your imagination.
Trek-tacular!!!

This program is great. I have been using the Starship Creator software since the release of the original.
Starship Creator is for people into "Trek-Tech".
My only recomendation to Simon & Schuster is that they create an update that allows you to walk through the ship in 3D, kind of like Captains Chair, but with the ability to roam freely throught the whole ship, not just the brigde.
....
A great resource for tech heads

Lets face it, this is not a game per se. The missions, although a little nice with every release of this 'game', are fully automated, but you do occasionally get a choice, but not much of one.
What this program is, is an excellent resource for those sad old trekkers like me who want to crank out their own ship designs for use with other projects, like roleplaying or SIMMing, or websites.
That's what this 'game' is, in my opinion of course.
Have to admit though, I'm alittle disapointed...1 Klingon ship? C'mon Imergy, even I can think of 5/6 different design parts for all the Klingon vessels.
It's about time they really brought this program to competion: ALL the ships, ALL the races.....
Still great though!

Star trek Creator Warp 2 is a very cool game. There are many cool features in it. Such as how you can design your own starship and test it in a mission. Most of the time the ships look like the ones on tv, but sometimes the ships look like they where made in the 50s. All together star trek creator warp 2 is a well made game and I belive you should buy it.
a nice companion

I find this product doesn`t make as much a game as it makes a companion. I have it running on my PowerBook when I am on the move and on either my Windows mashine or Mac at home depending which one I use for "real" work (usually I use the mac for real work for reasons only the mac user understands) It takes only a few minutes to set the gameplay up and then I just let it run. It can take some hours and sometimes it takes even a day for them to complete a mission so its more like this aquarium you can watch the fishe swim in while you do your work ;-) I must say that I compliment Simon and Shuster especially for releasing it on BOTH Mac and Windows. It's also nice to be able to use the SAME product on both platform (it's a hybrid CD) great fun!
An ok game

Over all this is a good game. I suggest you have a Pentium II or III It is WAY slow without one of those. I like the game I played it before and thought it to be a great, but long game. Not to hard to learn, but it is a long game. If you mess up you almost have to start over again. 4 stars maybe 3, but it is a good game I feel.
