How can you all say that!

Great game, once the controls were mastered. Extremely open-ended with a LOT of gameplay. Graphics are seamless and wonderful. Ship battles are exciting and a real challenge. Encountering storms is the most challenging aspect as it is difficult to master sailing in them.

All in all, with the amazing graphics, many side quests, customizable characters, and overall fun factor, this is a great game if you have the system to run it.

Worst game ever, period.

The controls are terrible. Once you get used to them, you realize that the combat engine is terrible. The graphics are nice, but so what? This game just isn't fun.

Pirates is an open-ended game with sword fights, sailing, and many different quests. Although the controls are a bit tricky at first, you soon get the hang of it. The instruction manual is only good for the controls, other then that it just basically tells a story. The graphics are incredible, the plot is awesome and it has nothing to do with the movie.

Bugs ahoy!

My computer is well within the minimum specs for this title yet I could not get it to run properly. Once I began a new game the thing would freeze. I've played many high end games on my computer with few if any problems. Please avoid as Pirates of the Caribbean has faulty (incomplete?) programing and might not work on your computer.

Check it out, the "gamer" who swore how great the game is is from Bethesda! That's the same place as the company that made it, this guy's trying to sell his game on here! Shameful, dude.

I've been reading plenty of the other Reviews. There it goes again... Everyone says this game is "Sea Dog II". Despite in all regards it isn't. Not even close. I've myself played Sea Dog, and remember Sea Dog was created by a Russian Company. The "Disney" never bought the game.

Sea Dog II is still developing. You can Search Sea Dog II on Gamespot.com or search Age of Pirates. The company decided to change the name to Age of Pirates.

SD II/ AOP will be using a new render Storm II. I can't wait till it comes out.

Oh and by the way, "Pirates of the Carribean" was a good game, but I've been spoiled by Sea Dogs and other better sea-faring games. I recommend you to buy Sea Dogs II/ AOP when it arrives and not POTC.

dunno

First off, there are like two games in this, which would make one think that it would be great.

1. The RPG gameplay is pathetic, it is to hard, and at night, you cannot see whatsoever.
2. You cannot defeat ships or even hit the ships. BAD!

3. TERRIBLE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The graphics are great. Tis a Shame the Game Won't Play

I finally got a working (?) copy of the game after over a month of searching and waiting. It arrived Friday evening and it is now Sunday evening and the only part of the game I've actually seen is the splash screens for loading and the movie files. I've loaded, unloaded, reloaded and tweaked all weekend. I've upgraded drivers, checked my system to make sure I'm well within requirements (and am) and, as of this moment, the only part of the game that plays are the videos. I've had help from folks who actually got their games to work (and they are mystified about my problems).

Save your money.
