Possibly my favorite video game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 0

I am continually bummed that this game isn't available for pc or other platform (is it?)- it's one of the most fun and most beautiful video games I've ever played - the environments are incredibly immersive and gameplay is fun - highly recommended!

Futuristic Racing it is, Fun its not!

A title such as Trickstyle has great potential but suffers for designers with little vision! When playiing this game you WILL get the feeling that it needs more. You will go away feeling short changed. The graphics are cool but the control is not. this game is basically flat with little replay value, the tracks are TOO SHORT and there is no real element in the game that makes it a worthy purchase.

PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!!!!

Secret Codes makes it easier

A few people don't like the game because its difficult to beat. But if you go to any of the popular game websites, you can get free codes which alow you to win ever race, select every hover board, and every stage.

The graphics are great and you get to do a lot of outrageous moves.

I would love to see a sequel!

This is still one of my fave DC racing games. There's a futuristic design style that... isn't poorly created, like most games, this is very cool, it feels like a future world. Also, as you're riding, when you fall from a high height or low height, this gives a sense of reality, like you are actually living the opening scene from the original 'Rollerball' film or a hoverboard version of 'Bullit's car chase. I hated having to do Tricks, so maybe a sequel could change the name to "____Style". Thankfully, I didn't have to do tricks much at all. There aren't too many tracks, some feel the same, but they all have worthwhile, unique elements. Racing against a friend may not be easy, as they should learn the course beforehand. I didn't feel the computer was cheating me out of a win I deserved, I feel this game has a fairly normal difficulty level -- it suited me right. I wished I could play tracks as difficult as the last one! Online play for a sequel would be great, can you imagine going against a capable human player on Japan #5 or so? During it I felt as though I was actually playing this game, instead of just driving past scenery with other character models. There are some dodgy control issues, but how should a hoverboard control? The control has equally beneficial abilities too. I enjoyed the Challenges a fair amount too, the VMU game is to be ignored... I disliked the obnoxious characters, and didn't find them 'cool', they are one-note stereotypes and pretty much just dress in a GAP/popstar/jock/foreign-superman way, I wanted to see futuristic punk clothes or something! You may not like this game, but I love it. The music could be better, but it could be worse too, it does what it needs to do, it can be somewhat ambient in it's own techno way, it could've been as unique as the game itself. I wish I could save cheat options like no time limit. This would be an ideal Xbox racer, but it's gorgeous on DC. At least rent to see if it's for you.

I rented this game back when the Dreamcast came out, and for a launch title, the graphics blew me away. It lacked a bit in gameplay, but flying through the Velodrome was an experience. I tried the single player with cheats, that helped minorly, but it was still lacking. Then, my mom and I played the 2 player, and had A WHOLE LOT OF FUN. If you have the time limit code on, the multiplayer races are a blast, but more should have been put into the single player.

Lost its apeal after about 5 minutes. Save your cash.

This game could have been made a lot better. The graphics inthis game is less than par. I do not really have a lot to say about this game. The game play is boring. The moves and tricks are extremely limited. If you want to play a decent game, check out Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Unless you can find this game at a bargain..... save your money.

A game worth while.

Unlike some of the reviewers of this game, I found the challenge to be worth while. A challenge is the one thing that seperates good games from bad ones. I can not see the point in playing a game only to have it be beet in two days. I awarded TrickStyle four stars for a few reasons. The first being the concept of the game. one that is fresh, and new. The second being that the music and sound are breathtaking. The control is nothing but fair. The game would lack challenge credibilty if you could fly your board and speeds unmatched, and still have complete control. For people to complain and whine about that they can't make it passed the second level is nonsense. I don't think I would even class this as purely a racer, as it encompasses many features and attributes of other genres. I docked it a point for one reason only, and this might be the only thing bad with the game, the repition. It takes away from the experience of the game when just about everything thats said and done is repeated. But for the most part I would highly recommend this game to anyone owning a DC. A renter at first as not all people will be able to enjoy the challenge as much as others.

A Lousy Game

I've played so many games on the Dreamcast that are worth spending your money on...but not Trickstyle. I agonized to get through this game. The graphics are excellent, but the gamplay is awful and totally unfun. I can't even explain why, but this game just made my stomach turn. It sounded cool, but ended up really anticlimactic.
