This game is much better than the playstation version. The graphics have improved, the control is better, no blocky graphics, and actually shows Lara's fingers and her shadow! I would highly recomend that you pre-order this game. Dreamcast makes this game 100% better!

The best videogame character ever produced is back for the fourth installment in the series. Unlike her previous title, which featured multiple locations, this adventure is set entirely in Eygpt. This allows the game designers to focus on the depth of the levels and put together a more coherent plot. Having visited Egyptian ruins several times, I can vouch that they have really captured the feel of the some of these great monuments.

The graphics are very appealing, with a few visual artifacts appearing occasionally (part of her leg disappearing into the floor, cracks appearing/disappearing in walls) but nothing overly distracting. And the sound is fantastic, making great use of the surround logic. The gameplay has changed somewhat, with different kinds of puzzles, combinable items, far fewer levers and no more push blocks. In my opinion, these do not make the game better or worse, just a little different.

For those of us with both a play station and a dreamcast, it is well worth it to upgrade to the dreamcast version. The difference is graphics is very noticeable. Details are crisper and more pronounced, the sound is clearer and the overall feel of the game is better. A quick comparison would involve Laura's shadow, which is a moving dot on the PSX but it a full fledged reflection on the DC.

very fun, and chalenging, for those who like challenges

I love this game, people complain about the controls a lot, but I think that they're fine. The game is very interesting and the graphics are awesome. It will keep you playing for awhile. The puzzles and the enviroment you are in and deal with are fun and creative. I can't stop playing this game. I suggest that you go and buy it right now. Great game!

This is one of EIDOS best games! It is a really fun game but the training level is really hard. Once done with the traning level it gets much better!! the worst part is dying, but once you start the game its hard to put down!!! This is a great game

The 4th addition (or fifth if you count The Lost Artifact) is one of the better ones and comes in second to the fantastic Tomb Raider 2. The gameplay is interesting.

In this game, you are in Egypt and going through tombs and pyramids and such. The first level is a training level when Lara is like 16 or something of that nature. Features:

The most intriguing thing about this game is the ability to pass between the same stages more than once in order to get to another stage. The game offers a great challenge and the graphics are very good. There are minimal glitches. The storyline is incredible. The ending is a great one, also.

Best Storyline of all Tomb Raiders, falls short on controls

Tomb Raider 4 was enjoyable to play, AFTER you got past the first "learn the controls" level. It was frustrating to play because you can just use the Analog to move. You push forward and back to move, and left and right to turn with the Analog, but with the D-pad forward and back are walk and left and right are side step. Thas just wack to me. Above all, the storyline was INCREDIBLE! When you buy a Tomb Raider game, you know you're gonna get somethin' awesome, but this was, like I said, INCREDIBLE! A good buy!

The Best Tomb Raider!

If you enjoy the Tomb Raider series and you own a Dreamcast this game is a excelent option because it is much better than the PC and Play Station counterparts in graphics, sound and everything... In fact a good and enjoyable game!

this game is very fun. The plot is excellent and the training level is fun too. My main problem though is that, expecially in the training level, there are so many little things like when he is giving you instructions, you can't skip it, you can't move yourself while he is talking. It's fine the first time, but if you play it again, you still have to watch it over and over. This can be especially annoying for those who have played Tomb Raider games on other platforms before. I still think it's worth the money and I advise buying it. But expect some boring time while he's instructing after your first run through.

Worth The Money, But Not Lara's Best

The plot and storyline of this game is great. The contols are VERY annoying. It is the most frustrating part of the game. The graphics are better on the PC versions of Tomb Raider. The movies seem like they were a half-done, rush job, get them done in time to put them in the game kind of movies. Either that or the wasn't enought space on the CD. I gave the game a 4 for graphics, a 4 for sound (it wasn't bad but it wasn't great), a 1 for conrols (I really hate the controls), a 4 for the storyline and a 3 for the overall game play coming out to 3 stars. The game, if you want something else to do to take up your time, is great.
