Great racing fun

GT5:Prologue does a great jog whetting the racing enthusiasts' appetite in preparation for the full game release next year (hopefully). With unparalleled graphics, a wide variety of cars, and some very challenging courses, GT5:P will keep you busy and entertained. Buckle-up though, as this racing simulation will stress precision and accuracy at every turn.

The best way to play is with a quality racing wheel. A regular controller does not do this game justice. I recommend the Logitech Pro GT, which was specifically designed for GT5:P. However, it has worked on nearly every PS3 racing game I've tried it with too.

Overall, GT5:P may not be a "full" game and is not without some flaws (no car damage modeling for example). But for true racing game fans as well as those interested in trying out the genre, this game makes for an excellent buy for the racing simulation experience.

This is a really fun game. I've been playing the GT series since its inception on the psone. I especially love the cockpit view. I think that this game appeals to a lot of people because it is easy to pick up. My "casual gamer" (read: almost never plays videogames) wife would even power up the ps3 to play. I recommend this game to everyone.

Great Graphics Needs More

I was waiting for this game for quite some time and have to say while I love the graphics the whole content was not what I expected. The detail of the tracks and cars are stunning. The game play dynamics of the cars is improved over GT4, but still there are some inaccuracy. An example of this it seems some cars such as the Type R RSX seems to handle and accelerate much better than cars that should be better. I guess you can chalk that up to programer biasis. What disappointed me is the lack of tracks and cars. This game been through so many delays I would have thought it was to get an improved version of GT4, while they did improve graphic and some game dynamics they could not do it for all of the car and tracks in GT4. I still recomend this game for the driving enthusist, but you might be disappointed in the lack of variety.

No damage

Ever since I've played the demo I was looking forward to this game, hoping that they would eventually add in a feature that would show realistic damage. The cars are beautiful, the backdrops for the tracks are breath taking and the handling of the cars are pretty good. The only thing that hurts the game in my opinion is when you smack into guardrails at 75+ mph and have zero damage done to your car. Or say you're driving and knock your opponent in the rear. You receive no damage, and it barely affects your driving.

The tracks are pretty fun to play, and a little frustrating at times.

the other reviews do a great job, but i didn't see the Ferrari F2007 mentioned. it's a bit of a chore to pass your s class events, but once you do, it's an absolute blast to get to drive the formula one car. as of may 1, you can race against other players online with the formula one cars. great game, can't wait for the full release.

this game is incredible. you can feel the sensation of a real car driving.
you need to drive like on your car, because it is not a game, it is a simulator.
it is diferent than the NFS ( who i am fan )
are diferent sensation of playing.

if you have a logitech G25, you added the topping of the ice cream.
what i mean you need to drive it with this racing wheel to feel what i said.
if you can, buy it both.

bravo for the makers.

Realistic Racing

Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue is the first racing game I purchased for my PS 3. The graphics and colors are extremely realistic. Using the controller for steering, braking, and accelerating takes some getting use to. The wheel might be easier. All the tracks have an arcade version were you can do time trials to build skills before actually racing. The cars you race in events never crash so you have to run a near perfect race to beat them. You have a wide selection of cars to choose from. You start out with enough to buy a low powered car to race with other lower powered cars. As you win races you win cash to purchase faster and more exotic race cars. Overall, you experience what it is like to drive at high rates of speed on several famous race courses. It is well worth purchasing before the full version comes out

Gran Tursimo 5

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is as they say a large demo of Gran Turismo 5 that is yet to come. Having played all 4 previous titles this new addition has some greater enhancements but also lacks a whole lot. The online mode is a bonus and it has it's rewards, but lacks many other features other online racing games have. Graphically the game is top notch, controls superb, and authenticity of each vehicle is outstanding. I recommend this game only for real car enthusiasts.

great game. only issue with it is the resale of your cars are less than that of used chewing gum. Game play and graphics are top notch. I play this on a 46" Samsung A550 and it is out of this world. Enjoy!
