This game is not bad at all

When I started this game I went in with a bad attitude from the beginning due to all the bad reviews. The game starts off a little slow but as you go on it gets better and better. I'm done with the game and I liked it a lot. Make your own decision about the game.

Too much going on to have any fun

Although I haven't finished it yet, I'm well into the game (no idea how close to the end, but with some exceptions PS3 games tend to be on the short side) and have been through several sections when your magical abilities come into play.

They ruin the game, frankly. It's a great idea - each member of the team has unique weapons and magic. It ruins the game for one simple reason - in almost every situation where you'd like to make use of magic (basically, every fight), things are happening so fast you don't have time to switch characters and cast. Also, most of the time half of them are knocked out before you even have the chance. With one character's arm-mounted minigun, which should be a butt-kicking weapon, it takes 700,000 rounds to kill an enemy. And that's just the non-bosses. Playing on easy.

It does look good. Some complain the surroundings are a bit repetitive, but you are in a desolate ruin, not some nearly pristine relic site like in a Tomb Raider game, so to me it fits. The enemies look good and are genuinely mean, and the way a swarm of flies appears and whisks their corpses away was a pleasant surprise. It's great for fans of the gore factor, too.

If this had teammates that don't die at the drop of a hat, gave you a little more health to work with (you die a lot, and die, and die, and die, again and again and ag...), and paused when you bring up the character select, it would be a much better game. Maybe it would even be better without the magic, as a straight ahead shooter. In any case, it simply fails to deliver on its concept.

I'll definitely finish it (or try to), because it certainly does have its good points, but won't be keeping it. The team system is badly flawed and what magic they do have isn't all that fun to use anyway. Taken simply as a shooter, there's nothing special about it. I'd say rent or buy on the cheap.

Good concept yet to be perfected

I have been playing video games for about 20 years and can honestly say this is probable the second first person shooter I have really gotten into. I think the concept is great you die very early in the game only to realize your soul can enter your teams bodies and control them. Each charater has different abilites though your probable going to use some characters more then others. There are certain enemies that only have a weakness in there backs, so its kind of cool to jump back and forth between guys to be in range.
While other people seemed to dislike the whole reviving your guys, I kind of liked it, ultimatley it makes it so that you can never die if you keep guys alive. There were many times in the game, were I would be running to revive a guy before I got killed, only to get killed just as I revived the guy and had to do it again. I could see how it could annoy people but I actually enjoyed it.
I thought the story and graphics were very good. Theres an overall creepy feel to the game and I did like that each character has different abilites. One can astral project, one can move objects, one can summom a spirt to attack your enemy. I would definantly understand what they do before really getting into the game. I played about 75% of the game before I realized how useful some were and made things way to hard to the point were I wasn't having as much fun as I could have.
At the same time I felt this game could have been better then it was and could see a Jericho 2 being outstanding. For the most part you will probable use only a couple of characters.

*I also figured I would mentioned one part in the game that will make you pull your hair out. Don't remember the level but at one part enemies just keep coming and coming. I read online that you just have to keep killing them but I played it for 2 hours wanting to bash my head in and didn't clear it. But an really simple way to clear this is use delgado and jump down to the gate and use your dragon thingy R1 special move and you will attach a guy on the other side and door will open. Your going to thank me for that.

the game is good graphics cool,
althought a multiplayer mode would have made it better.

Can it be that bad?

Totally unimpressed with this game. One of the worst PS3 games I played. As others have stated you spend more of your time healing your team than you do fighting. Actually you can watch you team during parts of the game and they'll be shooting off in different directions or facing the wall. Blew chunks is an understatment.

Bloody, gory, and lots of fun (edited)

I wanted to get this game since I played the demo and it's a lot of fun. The graphics and voice acting are above average, the story is entertaining, and dialogue is a little cheesy, but it's bearable. The best thing about the game is the different supernatural powers that the team members have. Some are more efficient to use than others, and you'll probably use your favorite 2-3 members for most of the game (most likely Church, who uses a one-hit kill sword, and Delgado who uses fire and a minigun). The weapons are usual FPS machine guns, pistols, snipers, etc. Each member has their own personality, which helps keep the game fresh. The ultimate rental. I don't suggest buying it due to lack of multiplayer and a short campaign. Squeamish people, STAY AWAY!

Edited- I haven't been able to play this game in a while, but I picked it up again recently. I haven't gotten too far into the game when I reviewed it, but having played it furthur, I have found many faults that I didn't notice before. The main and most frustrating one is the lack of any sort of intelligence whatsoever from your teammates. They rarely use cover, and when they do they use it incredibly poorly. They usually stand in the same spot all clumped together in a group firing at the same enemy while ignoring the other ones. They never back away from enemies that are charging at them, not even the ones who explode when they get near you. As a result, they are CONSTANTLY dieing, making you revive them constantly. This becomes even more frustrating when the squad gets split up since you have to pay extra attention to make sure that those guys don't die. One part of the game is so excruciatingly difficult that I have almost given up on beating the game. Which is a darn shame since I'm loving the wacky storyline.

The story involves the 7 member Team Jericho--a supernatural-based special forces squad that goes to the desert to stop the evil lurking within it. It's a solid story with decent graphics that's badly hampered by poor game development. I spent most of the time bringing my fallen comrades back to life and this really drags it down. It quickly grows very repetitive and tiresome. The visuals are pretty good, but the backgrounds are mostly unimpressive--lots of bland tunnels and stone corridors. Although I read the bad reviews I like Barker's writing quite a bit and wanted to give it a chance. It wasn't worth it. If you're interested and just have to play it, do yourself a favor, rent it... and then go buy one of the many much better games out there.

Jericho: Lots of Potential, Bad Development

Well, at first it was a nice concept for a Video game, but in the end the game it's too damn linear and the history doesn't make it up, bad ending that leaves you with more questions than answers, could have been a lot better.
Good Eye Candy and Sound, but as i wrote before the lack of freedom and development of the history as a whole just made the game worse, it does have some replay value to get unlockables but those are just some kind of files on the characters and im not sure if it worths the effort, at least for me it doesn't.

is this what i paid 500 buck for?? the worst game yet

this is the worst game I've play on the PS3 yet. the AI for your squad is the worst I've seen in a long time since they rush to die so easily its ridiculous and they suck at killing enemies i spend more time saving these idiots than fighting. if i could give this thing negative stars I would
Totally Sux is a better rating!!
