Ready to Rumble is a great Boxing game especcially for the Dreamcast.

Gameplay
The gameplay is fun...Kina Cartoony especially the characters.
The combos are sweet. 4/5

Graphics
The graphics for the Dreamcast are great....Very smooth especially Afro Thunder and Buther brown...My two favorite Boxers in the game

Sound
The sound is great. The crowd the music...It's all good...Nd' I meaaannn It's ALL GOOD! 5/5

Ready 2 Rumble also has Championship mode which is fun.
You can name your gym and buy equipment to train yourself. And title shots are cool to...But the Prize fights are for the money...

Overall The game is pretty entertaining...It's my favorite Boxing game for the Sega Dreamcast.

Get this game if you have a sega Dreamcast....It's just pure fun!

Later...

My preference is games that have a simple learning curve and have lasting entertainment value. This game has both. You can play well minutes after opening the box and with something like 20 characters, there are always challenges to master each character. My only criticism is of the Championship mode where you train boxers and take them through title fights. The mini-games to train the boxers are pretty weak and the whole process is somewhat tedious. Otherwise, it's a solid game.

Now THIS is a cool game. The graphics are very impressive on the Dreamcast. The boxers rule! A cool example is Afro Thunder, who sounds like a combination of Chris Rock and James Brown. My absolute favorite boxer, and one of my favorie video game characters has got to be Damien Black. First, the guy is 7,3", and is {get this} 500 years old. He is huge, his skin is that zombie-grey type of color, and has quite alot of horns on his head {8 to be exact}. What I'm trying to say is: He's the devil, folks. Also, there is this old british guy from the 1800s. Hes actually quite amusing. There is also this Mike Tyson clone, an ancient Indian {one of the only ones who put up a fight against Damien}, and the Russian guy from Rocky 4. Anyway, this game is really cool, especially on the Dreamcast. My rating: Get it!

but there are better games. This is practacly a two player only because it's much more fun that way. On one player, it's easy to beat the computer with just pushing the same button over and over and over and over and over and over and over. The price amazon is selling it at is worth it though. Purchase this only if you have a friend to play it with you.

Fun Fighting!

Ready 2 Rumble is what Mike Tyson's Punchout was 13 years ago. And it has been that long since the last truely fun boxing game. Pairing today's great graphics(at least on Dreamcast)with yesterdays fun equals a great game.

The game has two modes, an Arcade mode and a Championship mode. The Arcade mode is fun when played against another "human" opponent. The 2 player game will give the user more opportunities to taunt, set up for a combo, and go all out. Most people enjoy this type of fighting, infact everyone should. The Championship mode is for the die-hard player who likes to win, win, win. Going into championship mode requires a memory cartridge, and most importantly patience. The road to gold is a long, frustrating, and often dull experience. It is true when you work your way up to Gold status, strategies have to be used. The user finds out more about fighting the computer, really it's just like real boxing(jab, cut the ring off, win by decision). While few have the patience to test their skills against the computer, the die-hard player never really gets that much better especially against a "human" opponent who fights a whole lot different from the computer.

The game has various characters, with interesting backgrounds. We have a retired 21 year old cab driver going up against the Devil himself. Each fighter have different attributes, and using them to their right potential is key. Maybe the only bad thing about the game is the music(endless). But Ready 2 Rumble wins by TKO over any other boxing games.

Great Game

This game has a lot of pluses to it. First off the arcade game is cool but the real fun is in the championship mode. You get to train your boxer until he is the champ of various circuits. The graphics are great too, every facial expression is clearly seen due to the power of the dreamcast.

A super knockout to a new level

The characters are the best part of this game with great color and facial expression design. The combinations are very cool and when you get ready to rumble the combinations are extreme. My favorite character is Jet Iron Chin. After getting to champ class the game starts to get less fun fighting buy yourself but with a couple of friends the fun never ends. The only thing Ready 2 to Rumble is missing is a create a player mode.Other than that this is a complete game and is a must buy.If you already have this game here are some codes Pod5 ! gets you all the secret characters and everybody on champclass Mosma gets you all the secret characters except Damien black and everybody on gold class If you press X+Y at the character select screen to get alternative costumes Thats it Peaceout

4.5 actually

all in all, this is a very good game. I like the variety of characters, each with his/her own characteristics. Gameplay is super easy though. For the price Amazon.com is selling it for though, go and buy it, you will not regret it.

THIS IS PUNCHOUT TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Although, I have this game for the Playstation, but the Dreamcast version is much better, I can really feel the realness of the boxing ring, much more fluid. My favorite character on there is Jimmy Blood, he's just off the hook. Though it gets boring fighting the same opponents, but its really fun. I'm looking forward to another Ready 2 Rumble series.
