Well this game is pretty much a totally linear shooter. It's all First person. The goldeneye is kool you get upgrades as you get further into the the game. You can see through walls, you can disable enemy weapons, and control out of reach switches, and you can have a shield which absorbs all bullets and is resistent to all guns but the OMEN Rifle. And finally you can use magnetic force to throw an enemy or pull him to you, which instantly kills him. A total of 4 goldeneye upgrades. The only negative about the eye is it's power drains very, very quickly. You have to crouch and wait for it to recharge ,which takes too long to recharge.I wish the charge lasted longer .I rented this game and beat it in 3 days on Normal setting. The first levels are pretty easy .But as soon as the OMEN rifle appears it gets harder and harder. This rifle can take you out in one shot even with your goldeneye shield activated. This game is a straight forward shoot everything that moves, totally linear,no vehicles to drive,no bond gadget type things, except for your eye.The Goldeneye. It's kool to use your eye to see through walls and use your rail gun to take out a hiding enemy. Also you can double weild weapons, there's many good combinations that work very well. The story line is pretty kool, but no real big plot twists. The graphics are bright and colorful.I like the fire dragon level ,pretty kool. This is just a basic no brainer shooter ,with the additon of the goldeneye.Which is kool but quickly drains of power and slow to recharge. But this game is still fun and exciting shooter, with some nice graphics, although the wall designs are old school blockyfeel. Remember first doom game wall style. But some levels are very colorful sometimes I wanted to take a minute to look around and take in the eye candy ,but enemies were coming at me all the time. Most of the weapons work well if combined right. Some weapons freeze an enemy then you can walk up to him and use him as a brief shield. The A.I. seemed a little smarter than most games I've played they would say things like he's reloading ,advance to his position,or he's taking cover,or he's using his shield. And I played it on NORMAL mode. There's also ONE LIFE mode after you beat it on HARD mode. All in all a solid shooter thats just straight one way to go linear FPS.

Golden Eye Rogue Agent is a first-person-shooter(fps), where you play an agent that was fired from MI6. First, you DO NOT play James Bond. Secondly this is not the sequel to the old N64 game Golden Eye. As long as you accept those facts you might actually enjoy this game. You'll have your standard selection of weapons found in most FPS, like pistols, machine guns, grenades and rocket launcher. Your character has the abililty to pistol whip enemies with melee attacks, better yet you can take them hostage, better yet you can use them as human shields and have their own teammates shoot at the hostage. And the finishing touch is that you can toss enemies over rooftops or against a wall. All this adds fun and chaos to the destructible levels and objects. Your character also has a rechargable shield similar to the one from (Halo's Master Chief). If you get damage, just hide somewhere so your shield can recharge; it only takes a few seconds then you can come out again with guns blazing! Over the course of the game you will gain the ability to see enemies through walls, make their guns malfunction and even have a small bullet shield around you. The only complaints I have against Rogue Agent is that it fails to convey the fact that you are rogue or evil agent. I miss driving vehicles also, there are no vehicles to drive here and I wish they had included other game modes like single player and multiplayer BOTS to play against. Rogue Agent tries to copy Halo. I still had a lot of fun playing it regardless.
Pros:
+lots of weapons
+excellent controls
+excellent reload animations
+excellent level design
+excellent music
+excellent action
+excellent voice acting
+melee combat
+take enemies hostage
+destructible levels
+good A.I.
+XBOX Live
Cons:
-weak sound effects
-no BOTS or deathmatches
-levels are 100% linear
-lacks sense of being evil
-no vehicles to drive
beautiful game

This is the latest bond game from EA games and maybe one of the best when it comes to graphics and game play, Though I wish you could drive a tank or a car in the game. The game starts out really easy than in the middle you start to die a few times. The weapons are really cool and there are some strange ones as well. AI is done very well, you can hear enemies talk about what guns you have and your current position. It gets kinda scary when enemies shoot rocket launchers at you. You have to shoot down too many helicopters throughout the game, it isn't too bad though. Also, there are weapons laying around everywhere, and your standard pistol never runs out of ammo which is kinda cheap. I like throwing people off buildings and taking people hostage. Overall, it's an excellent game with superb graphics. full out shoot-em-up game. The game also has a really cool sniper rifle, which is my fav. weapon.
People hate that it takes a few seconds to reload, but when you think about it, its more realistic. And when you have a gun that requires 2 hands, you cannot throw a grenade or use your other hand which is more realistic as well.
Very cool game, buy it!
if this game had vehicles it would be almost halo2 calibur

i am a 21 year old male and i loved halo2, that being said...
i don't understand the problems people have with this game.
reloading.
the way you reload in this game makes you feel like a bada**.
you're not james bond.
unlike the movies, finally some creativity, i thought it was awesome, the tagline to this game is why i bought it, "why save the world when you can rule it" i mean, come on, that's awesome.
they tried to include too many famous bond villans in the game, and the story is a little rushed, but who cares, the videos are amazing.
the guns are cool, and the sheild and xray abilities are excellent
the game has a cool program to where the guys you are fighting are programed to fight differently every time, it's pretty sweet
i hate the position of the black and white buttons in relation to their function in this game
this game is really a 4, 4 and half star game, but i felt the need to give it more props due to other people's lack of vision
buy this game
Very satisfying

Great first person shooter awsome weapons the duel weapons, one in each hand works alot better than it does in halo 2.I like the health recharge as in halo. The enemy inteligents is great they charge when reload, duck or roll when you throw grenades and lots of other intresting stuff. You will never find yourself short on weapons or ammo you get them early and often.Bottom line I had a heck of lot better time playing this than the over rated Halo 2(i did love halo 1 and still do).If your a shooter fan ya better get this one!

I just recently bought this title for about $20, and i did enjoy the game while playing through most of it up to the end.The few things that pose some frustration is the fact the enemies, even on easy, are impossible, this new standard of AI is a good thing, and i like a challenge every once in a while, but there is a certain taser weapon that comes into play close to the end of the game that kills enemies in one shot, which means, since were all human here, you can die in one shot. Im explaining this for the fact that you can shoot one shot out of this perticular gun, but for some reason they fire in three shot bursts. This will become extremely furstrating towards the end of the game, as constant deaths will move your interest elsewhere. The levels in Rogue Agent are substandard at best, however, the main course of each mission seems to be the same, Go through level, kill baddies, go down levels to "a main control room or explosive of some kind" and destroy the entire complex. You will notice this repetative objective. The enemies are smart, but when they have simple bullet weapons, it wont be too difficult to take alot of them down, at least without a few tries, use of your "Golden Eye" is imperative at times.
Multiplayer: Through Xbox Live, Goldeneye: Rogue Agent can be enjoyied as a small short lived enjoyment. The most appealing part of the multiplay is not the play at all, but more the multiplay locals, based on important scenes in our favorite James Bond movies such as Goldeneye or You only Live Twice and others. Unfortunately you dont have the characters to those levels to enjoy the full experience, but oh well. Some secrets within the levels, such as buttons to activate something, or trap doors to open and create a deadly fall are thrown throughout the multiplay levels. Once you get used to the controls of Goleneye: RA through Single player, you will have a more enjoyied experience in multiplayer, if single player hasnt frustrated you to the point of not playing it.
I suggest, by any means, you rent this title before deciding to purchase it, if spending 20 or 18 bucks is no problem, then go right ahead, but i suggest you experience what ive said here first, thought expericne from person to person may vary.

It is fun for a while, but then it is repetitive. The weapons are good, and so is dual wielding.
By the way, the person who said Bond dies is wrong. If he would have watched the cutscene after the level, he would have seen that Bond is fine, they were just in a simulator.
Rogue Agent leaves much to be desired!!

Ok one of my fraternity brothers bought this game and I had asked for it for christmas. I played a few levels in first player and it seemed promising. Then some of the guys brought their controllers in to play multiplayer. This is where the game really let me down. The levels are choppy and the controls are very delayed.... not the fast action of Halo. There are some neat traps within the multiplayer levels but doesn't make up for the terrible game play. Main idea of this review is to let the other people know that they should stick to Halo or better yet Halo 2....
Massive dissapointment

This game has poor graphics, poor movement, poor gameplay, and is just plain blah. I would much rather play the original Goldeneye for my N64 than play this load of uhg. I was expecting it to be a great game and bought it right away before renting it because I enjoyed the original so much. Don't make my mistake, this game isn't even worth renting, but do it anyway just to show yourself it isn't worth buying. Trust me, it may have the name, but it's absolutely nothing like the original. Kinda like Unreal Tournament and Unreal II The Awakening...
Could have been much better.

This game is more like an arcade game, it could have been better, if it wasn't rushed.
