I wasn't ever crazy about the Star Fox game on Super Nintendo, so when "Star Fox 64" first came out, I wasn't really dieing to play it at first. I went to the store one day and saw it on display where anybody could play it. Once I started playing it, I found out I was wrong about this new and vastly improved Star Fox. It's not anything like the original Star Fox, and in almost every way, it's a great game. The graphics were some of the best I had seen at the time, and the sound and controls were as good as they could've possibly been, and best of all, the game was a lot of fun.
After I played it for awhile, it was so good I couldn't put the controller down. There was a line of people behind me waiting to play it, but I didn't pay them any attention. I played it almost a couple of hours and did something I had never done before, I beat the game while I was playing it in the store. That's the only bad thing about this game, it can be too easy. You can choose one of a few paths to take in the game, which will take you to different levels, but they all end up at the same place in the end. The one I took was too easy, but the other paths are a lot harder. Most of the flying levels have a pretty good challenge to them, but not all that much. The hardest levels in the game other than the bosses are the levels where you guide a tank that can hover for a few seconds and do barrel rolls across some awesome-looking territories while you have to avoid huge boulders from crushing you.
Along the way, there are several ways to defeat your enemies. You can get bombs and make them lock on to your target before you shoot them, and you can use your regular lasers, among other weapons. You can also do barrel rolls with your ship that will deflect a lot of the enemies' lasers. There are also other moves that will come in handy during the game such as one that will make your ship change directions. All the while, some of your cadets who are on your side, will give you pointers about playing the game, and they will watch your back. Overall, if you like space shooting games, I definitely recommend getting "Star Fox 64," it's a great game.

I didn't ever like the original Starfox game, so when this one came out I wasn't dying to play it at first. I went to the store one day to check out some cd's and video games and they had it there at the display. I started playing it and found out that it was nothing like the original and that in almost every way, it was a great game. The graphics were awesome, the sound and control weren't bad, and it was fun.
Once I played it for awhile, I couldn't put the controller down because it was so good. There were other people waiting in line to play, but I didn't pay them any attention. I played it for about an hour and a half and did something I had never done before. I beat Starfox 64 just playing it in the store. That's really the only weakpoint about the game is that it's real easy. However, if one path is too easy, there are different paths you can take which lead you to different and somewhat more challenging levels. The only levels that offered a major challenge were the tank levels where you have to control the tank and avoid huge boulders.
Overall, if you like space shooters, you should like this game. It's worth getting and it has good replay value.
So what if it's out of stock? Get this game at all costs.

Let me start by saying that Starfox 64 is one of my all time favorite games, especially because just about every aspect is near-perfect, including Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, Replay Value,....let's get right down to it. First of all, the graphics are sharply defined, and make good use of the N64's tendancy to produce blurry graphics. The animation is very fluid, and there'e no slowdown--ever. The visuals also succeed in producing a wide variety of emotions; isolation, confusion, awe, terror, grandeur, joy, anything. Which goes right along with the music, since it achieves the same thing. The heroic tunes are just about the best I've ever heard on the Fun Machine, and the sound effects, such as large explosions and laser beams tearing up the ground, are pretty nice. Some people may be deterred my Slippy yelling "Fox, get this guy off me!", but trust me, the rest of the voice samples and in flight chatter really just add to the experience, and only a few people suffer severe hemorrhages from Slippy's antics. Now, to the gameplay we go, which is absolutely top-notch. You're mostly on rails going either left or right paths in some situations, or in the excellent all-range mode sections. You'll be piloting a tank once per game, the rest of the missions being in your Arwing, unless you get to Aquas, where you pilot a submarine with unlimited torpedos! Missions in general are similar, but some offer a lot of variety, like destroying missles heading towards the Great Fox before they damage it, getting into epic dogfights with the Star Wolf team, or activating a series of switches to set a train off course, crashing straight into Andross's supply depot! Multiplayer is all right, but most people don't care about it, or hate it. For me, at least, replay value is as high as it ever could be; there's just something about this game that will have me still playing years from now (though beating it is a bit easy).

... i've had this game for several years. i have played it and mastered it, beaten 1000 times, gotten every secret, and still find it is one of best gamesi have ever played. plotline is original, the ships, levels and end-levelbosses each take time and effort to master, not to mention each can be playedin two different modes (giving the game humongous replay value), the cinema is incredible, and it's a japanese fighter pilot game. those games not only are better than most others, but starfox is one of the best of those games. with it's ecrets, originality in levels, vehicles, and plotline, it's wonderful graphics, and it's rumble pack capabilities, you feel like it's reality. this will be one of the best games you ever buy, so you might as welltake advantage of it ...- TRUST ME!

The game plot is simple: Destroy the bad guys, destroy the boss, goto next level. But, there is more. You can choose your course direction by taking certain actions on a level. You can alter your path, by pleasing certain goals. But, most of all, it's really simple and fun, fun, FUN! The fact that the characters interact with others, is awsome, and the fact that you can save them, or let them fry, is an option I leave open to me. For Slippy ;). Also, there is a great variety of challanges and levels, so you'll be occupied for awhile. This game is very higly suggested. Get some friends, and play some fun multi-player games.

The one player mode is excellent. The controls are easy to master and the game itself is easy. The graphics are excellent and the music is sweet! The characters actually talk (Unlike on the SNES). This is a game that will last a long time.
Too bad multiplayer isn't the same. The mode is fun, but suffers from lack of options. The character you play has depends as to what port your controller is plugged into. And the only four characters are the starfox team (Fox, Slippy, Peppy and Falco). There are only three levels and two powerups. However, by beating the game on higher difficulties, you can unlock the tank and the ablitly to play the characters outside of the vehicles to supplement the Ar-Wing. The multiplayer mode is fun, but only with at least one other person. For better multiplayer mayhem, get goldeneye or Super Smash Brothers. Mario Kart isn't bad either.
All in all, starfox delivers with a spectacular single player mode. However, it fails to hit that same mark with it's multiplayer mode. Let's hope Nintendo fixes that with a sequel.

Star Fox Is Very cool. It's always fun no matter how many times you've beaten it. Plus there's many different paths to beat the game. You must beat 7 levals to beat the game yet there is a total of 16 different levals to face.
Much better than the snes Starfox

Star Fox for the SNES was a testament to gaming. Featuring a chip that allowed full polygonal rendering, Star Fox went where no game had gone before. Due to the following it had built, its popularity had gotten quite high. The N64 release was highly anticipated, and no one was disapointed. From graphics to music, nothing is wrong with this game. As Fox McCloud, you must pilot your Arwing squadron against the forces of Andross. As you follow your path of planets, you can dictate how you progress depending on several circumstances, such as the number of enemies you shoot down. Star Fox 64 achieved a success that not many other games can even hope to reach. This fantastic game even includes a great multi-player dog fight feature so that you and up to three friends can take each other on. You've got to love this game, it's fantastic fun.

StarFox is a very fun, very beatable game. The graphics are great and the multi-player battle mode is lots of fun, the chatter between characters is fun too! One level is very similar to ID4 which makes it kind of cheesy. Over all a very fun game.
