This is a game stands up to shaq-fu and superman 64 as the worst game ever created in history. This game is way too childish. The graphics are an insult, you can easily see the polygons, it's too easy, and it has hideous music, sound effects, and the animals(I don't know why) sound retarted. This is just as bad as the original on the SNES.

I decided to rent this game after learning about the not-so-cute-anymore Fox McCloud (Star Fox) from Super Smash Brothers. Starfox 64 turned out to be the worst game I've ever played in my life! There is basically no plot to the game, it's like Star Wars with animals. The small amount of storyline makes no sense what so ever (Lylat System, G-Diffusers, mechanical flying apes, silver rings in the asteroid belt; I DON'T GET IT)!!! Even the technical aspects of the game stunk. The graphics were TERRIBLE (I've never played on a SNES before, but from what I've heard, this game looks like it should have been for SNES). The gameplay its self is extremely hard! I could never get past the third level! Sometimes I almost ended up bending the game in frustration. And some of the aspects of this game (especially the villans) were disturbing and downright terrifying. After playing this game for only two days (I couldn't bring myself to tolerate it any longer) I had nightmares for a week! If you're even considering buying or renting this game, DON'T!!! But if you must know what this game is like, watch a Star Wars movie. If you don't like the movie, you definitely won't like this game.

Star Fox 64 is a game that leaves much to be desired, this is partly because it is such an old game, but even at that, it still isnt so great; the gameplay is okay, but the replay value isn't so hot, after a few runs through the game, you get so good at it that it isn't really fun anymore, the sound isn't so great, and the graphics are horrible. My advice is don't waste your money
Um, no.

I think it's too late to give a review on this game, but here goes. This is the most perverted game ever made. When you think about it, it's pretty disgusting. "Aim for the open spot!", "I'll do you fast, Peppy old pal.", "Fox, get this guy off me!" "I've got a present for ya!" EEEEEEEEEUUU! Should kids be playing these games?
Anyway, the gameplay is fun...for 15 minutes. Then it's bothersome, annoying, and dull. Your team mates have the worst A.I. ever, and they don't get power-ups. The game is horribly easy and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY too short. Like, 30 minutes short. Also, the voice acting sucks.
I hope Starfox Adventures will be good. This game shouldn't have started the whole Starfox thing. If so, it needed work.

This game is pretty entertaining for the first couple weeks that you have it. After that is doesn't really have much to offer. The game just gets really easy to beat and extremely repetitive with all the says of the various characters. Although the characters, with names like Slippy and Peppy, give some extra flavor to this boring game. Multiplayer mode is just plain bad. All of the escape moves make it too easy to dodge your opponents fire, so the game takes forever, and the multiplayer levels themselves offer you nothing interesting. This game does have it's value for a little while so if you want to try it then rent it, don't waste your money buying it.
Is this the 1997 version?

My son likes starfox64, but the one he has is 1997 version. This one (Star Fox without Rumble Pak) was copyrighted by Gamesport for 1999... I am wondering if it is a newer version or not. The box, however, looks pretty much like the old one. Any tip is appreciated.

StarFox is a very fun, very beatable game. The graphics are great and the multi-player battle mode is lots of fun, the chatter between characters is fun too! One level is very similar to ID4 which makes it kind of cheesy. Over all a very fun game.

The one player mode is excellent. The controls are easy to master and the game itself is easy. The graphics are excellent and the music is sweet! The characters actually talk (Unlike on the SNES). This is a game that will last a long time.
Too bad multiplayer isn't the same. The mode is fun, but suffers from lack of options. The character you play has depends as to what port your controller is plugged into. And the only four characters are the starfox team (Fox, Slippy, Peppy and Falco). There are only three levels and two powerups. However, by beating the game on higher difficulties, you can unlock the tank and the ablitly to play the characters outside of the vehicles to supplement the Ar-Wing. The multiplayer mode is fun, but only with at least one other person. For better multiplayer mayhem, get goldeneye or Super Smash Brothers. Mario Kart isn't bad either.
All in all, starfox delivers with a spectacular single player mode. However, it fails to hit that same mark with it's multiplayer mode. Let's hope Nintendo fixes that with a sequel.
