The X-Files Game is a ground-breaking achievement in video game production. The technology responsible for the realistic effect experienced in the X-Files Game is the first of its kind to be used in video gaming. You will be astounded by the full motion video and how it draws you into the story. It feels as though every action you take is crucial to the development of the story...as if every thing you do might have repercussions. The entire game has that creepy X-Files feel, inducing that familiar shiver as you explore the dark, ominous corners that permeate every scene in the X-Files Game. My one and only problem with the game is the sparcity of Mulder and Scully appearances throughout. They don't show up until disk five, and after that they have little involvement. Despite this, they are rarely missed; a testament to how entertaining this game is. I applaud Jordan Lee(Agent Willmore) and Paige White (Agent Astadourian) for their superb acting. They hold the story together, while not being overwhelmed by the amazing graphics of this game. Those of you who purchase this, prepare for a wild ride. The white-knuckle finale will leave you begging for more.
Great X-Files game!

I just got this a couple weeks ago for my birthday. It was sentlate, but got there that night, I was told I got it, so I came here toread the reviews about it and everything. I did not think it was boring at all. Except for one point when I could not figure out what to do, because I was not going into the right room. Besides that, it was very enteraining. The night scenes were even a bit scary. I liked interviewing the suspects and witnesses, and talking to Skinner, Moulder, and Scully. Oh yeah, and 'X' too. Along with the new characters that are in the game. I hope they make a sequal too it, from how the game ended there should be one. Trust no one, play the game yourself and find the truth about it. END
When I grow up I want to be just like Agent Wilmore! LOL

Since I am a fan of the show I decided I needed to try out the game as well. The concept was wonderful although a bit trying at times when your character is wondering around bumping into walls. I did however, think it was great to find out what you can make your character do. As I wondered around through the first couple of disks I wanted to find out what the creators thought a gamer might try. When I shot the big boss, Shanks, I thought the "booking" sequence was hilarious. It actually starled me because it was such a surprise. I also loved a couple of the other ending before completing the actual goal. Maybe I'm biased but even though the story could have been a little strong the game was left open for X Files II. Well if X is telling the truth then I'll be in line to own the next game.
No game is perfect!

I may not be the best judge of this game, considering I'm a fan of the show, and a sucker for X - Files merchandise, but I thought it was a great game. But before I get too caught up in praising the game, I wish to point out a few minor design flaws. The game takes place over about a week, and in this time, we don't see our character eat, bathe, or even get a fresh change of clothes! All he does is wake up, go straight to work, finish working by nightfall, come home, fall asleep, you get the picture! Also, on the firsy disc, you need to discover your character's computer password. He should know it! It should be in the manual! Now, let's get to the praising. In the game, you play agent Craig Willmore, of the FBI Seattle Washington Base. Mulder and Scully are missing, and your only lead is a travel requisition for a cheap motel in Everett. The cast includes some colorful characters, and some of the show's cast as well. A fan's must have! (Even if your character isn't always the brightest!) Also, the storyline is very intruiging, and you can manipulate it with your actions. Finally, if you want to learn some fone cheat codes, check out Yahoo! If you search for them, you'll get some to send you on the floor laughing!

Okay, you're NOT Fox or Scully, BUT they make their little appearances throughout the game as does Skinner. This was one of the first adventure games I ever played so at the time it seemed pretty difficult. In retrospect, it might seem a bit easier but still the same engrossing game. Lots and lots of investigating, searching for hotspots and all that.
Good things:
1. lengthy with strong story the whole way
2. good brain challenge
3. excellent visually and fab soundtrack
4. it ran great on win98
5. you get second chances, and thirds, fourths, fifths......
Not so good things:
1. not enought fox and dana
2. there's a shootem' up part and I'm not a fan
3. no follow-up game? what gives chris carter?
Overall, worth the effort as long as you have patience and LOVE to explore.
Best game ever

I love this game. It is almost impossable to find games that DON'T have CGI in them. I don't want to play pixelated characters from a computer screen. I want to see live action actors that you can manipulate and have talk to people. This game really is a great deal of fun.
The best Game of the year with out a doubt!

I thought this game would be great; I'm a big X-Files fan. But it was really boring. It was just a matter of finding the right place to be at the right time; no puzzles, no actions that would affect the flow of the game. You just wander from one place to the other. It was cool to be able to interact with Mulder and Scully, but other than that, this game was a waste of time.
Pretty good game.

This was a pretty good game, but not a great game. I'd probably rate this closer to 3 1/2 stars. You are agent Craig Wilmore. Scully & Mulder have disappered and it's your job to find them. You have several locations to go to and many people to talk to in your search. A couple of the features I really like was you actually have a shoot out that you control in one location and in another location, you have to do a real time search to catch the "bad" guys towards the end. Most of the cast members from the show are here (Skinner, The Cigarette Smoking Man, & The Lone Gunmen), but they weren't used nearly enough. There were some cool explosions and the story was pretty good, but they could have made this a little harder in some aspects and a little easier (like being able to get a password for your own computer. Why was this so hard?). Overall, a good game, but just a few more additions and changes and this could have been a great game.
