My son got this for Christmas - the disc didn't work - comes up unreadable. Amazon quickly sent a replacement with the same results. I am left confused if there are lots of corrupt discs or is there something wrong with the gamecube. All of his other games work with his gamecube. Have others seen a problem with thses disc?

When I ordered the seller said that it would take 4 weeks to receive. I got it in 3 days. Other than the order speed, I liked the changes in skills that X-men ledgends one doesn't provide. However, the story line is lacking. Players that don't know the X-men story should not get lost in the game, but I think that knowing the story makes the game just a little better. I gave it 4 out of 5 star for the overall rating because the bosses throughout the game were too easy while some of the other enemies were harder.

You'd do well to avoid the gamecube version of this game, if you have a choice. The graphics are overly compressed so that everything looks blurry, and to make things worse, there is no contrast between your tiny character models and the admittedly detailed background. This can result in you sitting right in front of your TV to tell what's going on. That might be worth it if the game were a little more FUN. The levels and enemies are pretty bland and cheesy. My girlfriend and I were bored by the second level. There are at times weird text formatting bugs in the written dialogue, and some of the spoken dialogue sounds like it comes straight out of a backstage professional wrestling argument. Imagine Macho Man as Sabretooth and you're close. I don't recommend this game if you're over 13 years of age, you'll probably find it dull and sophomoric.

X-men legends 2 still a legend in my book

why I give this four it's like the same thing. Why I still love it so much well now people you get to use way more characters, attacks, and two kinds of extreme powers let me talk. Well last time it was just the x-men as we all know, but now you got the brother hood like scarletwitch, magneto, juggernaut, and more even. Beast isn't in this one I know very sad the list is still very varied though. Plus some additional characters who I don't know about some people, but gave me much more replay value. Like one unlockable character who isn't that good, but feels like a mixture of bishop and nightcrawler is deadpool who is very useful, but that's all I'm saying. Well like I said not musch else to say except bigger levels more hours of play time and the new characters I say rent it then decide if you want it I just got it cause I loved loved number one so much it's still a good game though.

Like the 2nd movie, the 2nd Legends game disappoints...

X-men Legends was a, pardon the cliched pun, x-cellent surprise in the 2004 holiday rush. It featured an interesting storyline that was a take off the X-men comics, all out action and brawling, a deep customization system to develop your characters, challenging yet thankfully and a great selection of characters, which also involved using strategy to keep up a well balanced team suitable for each mission.

The sequel features some new improvements. First off, there's some slightly improved graphics. Second, we have deeper customization. Finally, there's a whole new roster of characters, some new, some old, and some bad, such as Magento or Juggernaut. With these features, it definitely seems like the sequel would be an improvement.

Unfortunately, there's a big detractor in this game. It's easy. Over-the-top incredibly easy. I am not joking when I say that it takes about 5 hours to beat this game, even when you make sure to explore every area.

Enemies(particularly bosses) that were challenging foes in combat from the original now can all be dispatched with a few simple blows. Areas that made use of specific powers(such as say, having Iceman build a bridge for the others to cross) can now be passed easily via an extra route or a switch, which pretty much kills having to switch for other members. Extra items to fulfill sidequests can now be found along the main path. With the game only coming out a year after the first, it seems like the developers made all the stuff for the game up, then rushed to put it all in without adding any difficulty whatsoever.

The game is still worth a rental just to check it out, but overall, the original Legends game is just far more satisfying and fun. Hopefully if there's another sequel, it won't be rushed out as quickly.
