By today's standards, the graphics to this game aren't the best, but this game is still as fun as the best fighting games out there. The thing about this game is that you don't have to be a fan of Godzilla to enjoy it. I have been a fan, however, of Godzilla for many years. But, who doesn't like being monsters and destroying the city in an all out brawl? The story pokes fun at itself by having weird looking aliens that have comedy to them as they threaten to take over the world using the monsters from Monster Island. Like I said, it is funny (intentionally) and a nice homage to the Godzilla films of the 60s and 70s. Compared to the more recent release of "Save the Earth", the selection of monsters seems limited, but I argue the fact that perhaps the monsters look better on this game during gameplay than they do in its sequel. Overall, this is a fun game to have but the exact same game as "Godzilla: Save the Earth. The only difference is that this game has less monster selections to choose from and less cities to destroy with no mini games at all compared to the other. So, if you have the other game already, you basically have a better version of this when it comes to quantity. If you are a fan of classic Gamecube games or don't have the other game, then is will be fun to have in your collection.

although godzilla destroy all monsters melee (GDAMM for short) may not compare to SSBM's fast paced gameplay and items and list of playable characters, godzilla makes it up with the awesome graphics (all the cities look so realistic!) and added elements and modes (destruction mode is where you destroy as much of the city as possible, that has to be cool)(BTY, do you think i use too many parentheses?)(i do).so anyway, godzilla is more complicated than standard beat em up (such as with a few added elements such as stages and items)....

Awesome Fun!!

I don't actually own a Gamecube, but I have loved Godzilla all my life. So I played it over at my friends's house, and we spent two hour laughing our butts off! Not because it's unintentionally funny; the humor IS intentional! You can throw trains and buildings at your opponent, or pick 'em up, spin 'em 'round, and slam him into buildings! Never have I had such a gleefully destructive time. But one thing I found most intriguing about the game is how loyal it is to the original movies; trademark roars and attacks are ever-present, which is a major plus for a fan like me. And thank heavens they didn't just create some new characters, like lots of movie tie-in games do. Heck, they even threw in Megalon! If I had to make one complaint about the game, it is that the controls are downright confusing sometimes. But it easily makes up for that with the mere sight of Anguirus being hit in the head with an office building, or Godzilla hurtling Megalon hundreds of feet into the air.

Now I must confess, I don't know crud about games, but I DO know when I'm having fun. And GODZILLA: DESTROY ALL MONSTERS MELEE is some of the all-time greatest fun I've ever spent in front of a game console!

This would be a good boxing style game but the save function did not work on my copy. Until the software manufacturer works the bugs out I say avoid this product.

Fun all the way!!!

DC here. This game got me hooked and to this day I still play it. The monsters are cool and the controls are easy to get used to but the game is more fun when you play multiplayer mode. The story wasn't all that great but hey, most games are like that. I recommend this to all G fans out there. Thanks to all the people who made this excellent and addictive game.
