TOO SHORT

The gameplay of it is amazing. The plot is too. It is cool how they thought of using Kastor, son of Arkantos to continue as a sequel to Age of Mythology. The Titans were fun to play, so as the new myth units. But I used only 2 myth units during the whole Titans campaign! This is only 12 scenarios while the first one kept you entertained long enough as 32 scenarios! I just got this game yesterday, and I'm already finished with it! This game is easy, and if you know the cheats, it's a lot easier. It is sooooooooooooooo short! I thought I would actually use all of the myth units, but NO, i used only 2! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! SHORT!
If you want fun for maybe 2 days or 3, than I recommend you get the Titans, but if you really want to play long, than get the first Age of Mythology.

Nicely done, Ensemble

Age of Mythology: The Titans is an extremely well put together game. An entirely new race, new units, tech, god powers, buildings, and of course, the Titans.

The Titans are these enormous things that take quite a while to build, but once they go up, they're not coming down!
Almost like the superweapons in Command & Conquer: Generals,
you can terrorize the enemy 'till your heart's content.

There is simply so much in this game, it's hard to remember it all.
The new campaign is interesting and has a better story then most full games.

The voice acting is great, but that was to be expected.

Every single unit in the game has been balanced against the other, so there is as equal chance of winning and losing.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what a good game should be.

Ups:

Nice and entertaining
Good unit balancing
The game is pretty
The Titans make you feel powerful

Downs:

Titans seem unbalanced
Rock-scissors-paper units may turn some players off
The game ends.

Best computer game i've played on mac!!!!!!

this game is great if you have a fast computer. but this game is just like Ensemble studios said it would be.There is a populationn limit though. The only way you would hate this game is if you hate strategy games,or for some reason you just don't like Mythology.I think it is What the age of empires series wasn't,And with Gods!to control

Age of Mythology is by far the best game I have played in months. It combines the Empire Building of the first 2, AOE and AOK, with gods and myths, which makes it all the more interesting. The graphics are vastly improved from the earlier editions, with an nice new 3D engine. The campaigns were a highlight also. 35 levels and 65 cutscenes, and only 2 of the 110 were bad! Leading the Atlanteans was great. However, the best parts of the game was using the god powers. These could change a game in a second, and really made it interesting. This is a great game that I strongly recommend, even if you have not played the first 2 games.

Great game.. but extremly unstable

I have to say, the game in itself is just great. I first bought it because of the reviews I had read right here, and I absolutely do not regret the purchase. I'm having a great time going through the campaign - I actually just finished the main campaign, and downloaded the little extra (free!!) one from the AOM website.

That being said, I do have to say that there is something wrong with it. From day 1, the game has quit (unexpectedly, as worded on the MS support website). I have spent over 2 1/2 hours on the phone with MS tech support reps, and all they could do was to walk me through the exact same steps that are listed on the website under that particular issue - that wasn't much of an help. They acutally still call me once in a while to know if my issue was resolved (it still quit "unexpectedly"). needless to say, the issue remains. I don't think I am the only person with that problem, and I think MS doesn't really know what causes it.
I love the game, and I put up with it closing on its own, but it's really frutrating. I almost spend more time saving it then actually playing!!

Good, but... that's it

First of all, I must say that Age of Empires 2 is almost impossible to top. And Ensemble was not able to top it. Age of Mythology is a good game. It has wonderful graphics. Godpowers are fun, over all, it is good. However, there are only 9 civs, and broken into closely related groups of three. AoK had more.
Bad: ESO is not for friends. It is good in the fact you can quickly find a game and play... but it is much harder to interact with others. AoK was played on the zone with an instant messenger and chat rooms in every game area. ESO has just a chat area that all messages go to, even friends, and they are hard to distinguish from other clutter. A small chime goes off, but it just isn't good enough. The community in AoK is awesome, but AoM just doesn't have it.
There is something about AoK that draws you back to play. Something that makes it the greatest computer game yet created. AoM is fun... but just doesn't have that... thing. You will enjoy it, but you will tire quickly and move on. I still can't move on from AoK.

All around very good. The graphics are high quality. They are much better than that of a seemingly stunning Warcraft 3. The units are good. They are similliar to those of Age of empires. However when you get your myth units you can get some very cool things. The god powers are very unique. There is a good amount of choices so each time you play it can be different. The story is great. All around I think that it is better than Warcraft three.

Pretty Sweet Stuff!

I'm a huge fan of the AoE series, and when I heard that Microsoft was comming out with AoM I was excited. The game itself is very cool. Basically it is AoE with some interesting mythology mixed in and some different civs. There were a few problems, such as slow peons and little control over them, but theyre worth putting up with! The game graphics are very awesome for an RTS! AoE fans will most likely love AoM.

Great game, but......

I think that this game is really good. However, I'm averaging one freeze or so a night. It gets frustrating. Also, every so often when I run scandisk it's telling me about dates/times being recorded wrong and has to change them to the correct ones. I also get a message having something to do with my boot values are messing up. I didn't have a problem before I got this game. I downloaded the patch, but it didn't stop the game from freezing. I hope that they fix it soon. In the meantime I'll just save often and become better aquainted with scandisk!! My system is an AMD 900mhz 256k ram 64meg nvida4 accelerator running win me. Problems notwithstanding, the game is very fun to play. The myth units are pretty nice as well. As an Egyptian you can mass an army of Anubites and swarm enemy units and cut them to shreads. They are my favorite unit against infantry. The Greek Colossesses are real tough. You can get a half dozen and level ememy buildings like crazy. I wish that it was easier to heal units though. I miss having priests to heal on demand, but I guess it's more realistic this way. This game will give you hours and hours of fun. There are a lot of simularities between AOM and AOK.
