THE Best Pet Game EVER!!!!

I'm 11 and have been a Petz fan since I was in kindergarten. I got Catz 3 and loved it!!! Much later on, I bought Catz 5. Ther newest computer we own,which we have had for a few years, came with Dogz 5. I loved it! I had not played with it in a year and recently re-discovered it. I have so many cool playscenes I made myself,and so many cool breeds and Petz I have downloaded online.

Cons:
-For some reason my game crashes A LOT! When it does this, I have to re-do whatever I just did(like turning off power without saving in a video game)
- Petz run away when you do not play the game! When I came back after not playing it for a year, almost ALL of my Petz and my sister's(who's almost 9 years old)ran away! You can get your Petz to return by opening your 'Runaway Petz' file and your 'Adopted Petz' file in two different screens and drag and drop runaways to adopted Petz. When you start your Petz 5 game, either A) Some of the Petz have come back B) Some are in your list but say 'Runaway'. Check to see if you can re-adopt them at the Adoption Center. If not, click on your Runaway Petz in your pet list and try the process again. It works for me!
- The Playscene Editor has some minor glitches in it.
-If you take out the present box and put the bottom half away without putting the bubble machine in it and lid on top, they'll be stuck in that scene permanently! I think you can fix this,but I don't know how.Same thing if you put the paint can away without the brush.

Pros:
-MUCH,MUCH,MUCH BETTER than Nintendogs or the DS Petz games!!!!!!
-Very addicting; you can never run out of things to do!
-You can make your own playscenes very easily.
-Your Petz can have litters of puppies or kittens, which you(and the mother,of course) raise them from newborn to adult, instead of just puppy/kitten to adult.
-Educational,but not too much like a real pet(no shedding,poop-scooping,etc.)
This is an all-around awesome game, anyone ages 5 and up(yes, that means teens and adults) can enjoy it! Buy it!

I remembered playing Petz3 years ago...
I'd been pining for a puppy and, rather than battle my mother once more, opted to take the path of least resistance, and got Petz5.
....
It's fun for the first day or so, but eventually they start to really grate on your nerves.

The pets get jealous when you scritch another pet and will attack one another, they steal each other's food (even when you have multiple bowls out), and will sometimes hiss or bark and growl at the cursor (granted, I had just given them a bath, but come on!).

Parents: if your kid wants a pet, get them this software.
It will either change theirs minds, or enchant them!

I loved it when I was a little girl, and it's amusing for a while.
The long-term value is minimal, but I still somehow find myself wanting to play it a few times a year.
There's an itch it scratches, for sure and certain.

So.. Go for it.
Just... don't expect to be blown away.
on the upside for parents: no foul or explicit language, (aside from tussles over squeaky toys) no fighting, no shooting, no monsters, no blood, yes cuteness, yes puppies and yes kittens (with no shedding or allergies), and the kids get to learn a little bit about what comes with having a pet.

Absolutely fun!

This is perhaps the best game for those who can't have an animal in the house. The sounds are wonderful and I just can't seem to get enough of it. They run away when you use the spray a few times when they are being naughty since they know what's coming. There are some glitches like the cat's bowl moving when they're eating and some small things. Looking past all that, this is one game you have to get for those who wish to have a cat, or a dog or both since the cats and dogs behave like real ones.

This game is the best game i have ever gotten! I've had this game for a while now but it's still so much fun! I think it's the best game out of all the petz games. You get to have dogz and catz! There is lots of great items in this game too. The newborns that you can breed are sooo cute! You should definately get this game! I don't know why those other people who rated it one star don't like. It's fantastic! You should definately get this game!

This is the best petz game ever! You can get both dogz and catz! They both can play together. They fall in love and make the most adorable puppies or kittens! You should definatly get this game! It's GREAT!

It's a real fun game for my 12 year old and my 4 year old. They can have as many virtual pets as they want and they love choosing between cats and dogs. Several months after first playing it they're still finding new surprises and enjoying watching their pets learn and change. Every once in a while the game crashes though... I've yet to discover why, though. It never happens when I'm watching and the kids can't seem to tell me what they were doing with the game at the time it crashes so trouble-shooting it has been tricky where that's concerned. Could be a game glitch, could be something my kids are doing (too many pets moving around at once or something?). But in all this game's worth the price. Loads of fun.

I got Petz 5 for Christmas and it is by far my favorite game so far! I think the reason for the computer problems for others is they need better computers (not that the computers are bad, just they need updated ones) or their files are full, the reason for the disappearing Petz. For those of you who say it's boring, I can give you a whole list of things to do, but that would take up too much time! Oh, and what do some of you mean bad graphics? It's a style of graphics (the name has lost my mind-really!) and I do think they look alot like the breeds they reperesent!

Pros

-Having your petz fall in love!
-you can download new breedz and individual petz from many websites- but beware what sites you get them from!
-they actually remember how you treated them in the past!
-they are all unique-from different markings and eye colors to different favorite toys and personalities!
-Unlike Tamagotchi and Nintendogs, your petz won't starve, hate you, or die if you ignore them for a few days, like real dogs, they'll be overwhelmed with joy!
-I, personally, like to read the quotes about dogs and cats when the game is loading. I love the one that says dogs are the only living thing that loves something else more than itsself (you can tell I'm a dog lover!)

Cons
-I think they should add more breedz, I'm looking forward to a beagle, but again, they're are many sites to get them from!
-yes, I have experienct many glitches, only a few petz-threatning!

PS, Oh, yes, I must say how much I disagree with those who dislike the fact your patz can run away. Without this small threat each day, the game wouldn't be fun! Besides, you have a couple of chances to get them back! The fun of the game is taking care of them!

I had fun playing this game. I think the dogz and catz are cute and fun to play with. I would highly recamend this game to any one.

OMG! This is possibly one of the best pc pet games EVER! I am 12 yrs old and love animals. I was recently looking for a new virtual pet game; Nintendogs lost its charm, Tamagotchi didn't offer enough, and all those other GBA and DS games weren't satisfing.So, i install the game, easy as pie! Tada! I pick a cute lil'kitty and name it Sailor. I bathe it, give it treatz, and dress it up. Then we visit tons of cool places like Arabia, The beach, and a snowscape scene! There are tons of minigames like tic-ta-toe and rock,paper,siccors. I earn new toys for Sailor by playing the minigames and feed him kibble and milk. Yum! Sailor looks loney so I buy him a friend: Sushi! Together they play around and look happy. But whats this? Awwww, Sailor and Sushi are in love! sushi gives birth to 3 healthy kits named Serpent, Scarab, and Spirit. Cute! They are so small. Now what? Ohhh, you can adopt dogs, too! The fun never ends with this computer game, now does it Sailor? Meeeoww!!

Popular is not the word....

My daughters, aged 8 and 10, cannot get enough of this game. It is definitely THE favorite. I didn't know it existed until I searched amazon for a similar game and this one popped up with a higher rating. Now I know why. Highly recommend it!
