Just the main menu titled "The Wheel of Loogies" describes the game in general. I have had the game for three weeks now and cannot find a point to it, but because we have all been waiting for THUG 2, I'll give the pros to u before we get to the cons...
I'll begin with the create-a modes, one of the only fun aspects to the game. They have added create-a-graphic (your spray paint logo) that can be seen when you graphiti tag something in all modes, and on your shirt. The create-a-trick has been refined, making more options, but condensing them into simpler, more explanatory options. The create-a-park has also been improved, adding a lot more playable space to the park. Some of the new pieces include speed boost ramps and ground pieces. One thing I must conplain about is the removed create-a-deck which, in the last game, allowed you to design your skateboard. The create-a-skater is also improved, now allowing you to pick your skater's voice. However, it's not all that special because there are only 4 voices to choose from.
Story mode is hilarious, I'll give the designers that (but how could you possibly go wrong with Bam anyways) but is not sequential nor does it make sense. Honestly, I liked trying to be the best skater and skate with the pros over destroying things for points (and that's all story mode is in this game).
Activision, I think being desperate, even stole some physics from Spiderman 2 and stuck them in this game. If you've played the game before, you know that you have a slo-mo feature when ever you kill enough enemies. This is the same in THUG 2 except you can only get it when you have full special. The slo-mo feature is cool because you can view your created trick in a farther-away slow motion view. It is also easier to ollie, do tricks and balance while in slow motion. The only problem with it is is that it eats up your special really fast, and when you run out of special slow motion instantly stops, making it extremely hard to balance for a while.
Other than that, the game is a downfall to the Tony Hawk name (not that THUG 1 gave Tony Hawk a better name but what ever). For starters, the goals that you have to complete are sometimes not asked of you from citizens. That means that you have to roam the level trying to locate that excact spot from a small picture, because you can not click on the goal to do it as in THUG 1. Even the citizen avoked goals are unclear because they mostly never tell you excatly how to do what they want you to do.
Also, you cannot hijack cars anymore (I know the driving physics in THUG 1 weren't great, but it's a skateboarding game)nor can you do any goals that have to do with cars.
In addition, you have to find 3 different players hidden in sometimes impossible spots to advance to the next level. I will admit, some of the characters are cool (Jesse James, Bigfoot ect.) but they can only do a set number of tricks because they are on a vehicle and cannot get off. There are 3 characters that know all of your moves, and then 1 that has a seperate set of tricks, so little of them I could tell you now if I wanted to.
Although Bam is cool, you can only play as his team for 1 level, and that level, honestly, isn't that good. The levels, except for Barcelona, are all shrunken down from THUG 1.
They have added a way to make the game seem more real, but it really didn't work. When ever you don't land a move, you have to wait for someone that you can't see, throw, roll, or flip the board back to you. This is so antaganizing because it it impossible to speed the recovering process up, making anyone extremely inpatient.

unfortunately it is too short and easy along with the lack of depth to the game. and the story mode is a bit weak, however they make up in that with the classic mode. and what else is great about this game is that its still highly addicting even after a year of use, while most others are forgettable a month or two after purchase. i reccomend you buy this rather than THUG1 or THAW. I garantee you will enjoy this game for a while.
awsome

i love this game. i can't see why people don't like it. i couldn't list all the good things about this game. the best thing is you can switch characters during the game. i think the only bad thing about it is you can't drive cars like in THUG. all you people that think this game sucks are crazy.
THIS GAME IS AWESOME

I didn't even like sports games until i saw this one. This was the first tony hawk game I've ever played at the time. I absolutely loved it. The levels were large and you could grind on anything that you could in real life!(anything.) There's also a creat a level mode where you could make a park and if you go to premade parks theres dozens of new levels you can play! Also the storyline is hilarious. The way they made Bam Margera ( who i think the game should be named after) is just like the real him. Also there is alot of character creation and you can create your own spraypaint tag.
One thing I didn't like was the limited number of some things.Such as skateboards. Their the main thing in the game and there's only a few sk8boards. Luckily you can design your own but the design is only a box in the middle of the sk8board.
Overall this game has good multiplayer and awesoem value. If you like any Tony Hawk game pick this up.
antisocial behavior is not really that much fun

If I ever acted like this in real life I would be dead. It's not really fun wrecking stuff. My dad had his tires slashed one time by a thug and he coundn't get to work and we lost a lot of money because we couldn't afford to buy new tires because it was just Christmas and we spent all our money. It's not fun to think about that. Why did Tony Hawk make this game? Doesn't he have kids or care about kids thinking this is fun?
This game is a must buy...

The only problem that I had with this game is the fact that you can't choose which team your going to skate for but I guess since its a story mode they had to do it like this. The backflips and rolls are a definite plus and the extra skaters are either really cool or really funny. I didn't understand why Shrek is an extra skater though....whats the point of having him in the game? Other than this....if you liked all the other THPS's.....you'll love this one.
Not intriguing, but still good

I bought this recently and I like it, for thee most part. It's fun to try to beat the levels and stuff, but it's not that kinda of game that intrigues you or draws you in. it's still fun, but I suggest to rent it before you buy.

Now I'm new to the Tony Hawks's series; in fact the only time I've played it before THUG was in a demo which I enjoyed but not so much the tasks of collecting the letters and stuff like that, (even though for those who love that type of stuff they have a "classic version" of the original Tony Hawks in THUG 2). These games offer the ever insightful approach of exploring your world on and off the skateboard. Especially THUG 2, since THUG I returned it on the same day I got it for Christmas merely because I felt dizzy, until I got the same feeling for THUG 2 but then I realised you got all songs not just rock, but hip-hop as well as few others. Anyways the story is intriguing and you travel the world doing various tasks such as breaking pipes and skating combos in a church. The possibilities are endless, plus for you alien-lovers out there you can unlock an outer-space world plus many others.
In short, not the best review you've seen true, but the game is much more to than just skating which is great, (did I mention you can switch characters from Tony himself to Bigfoot?!)
