This game is extremely bad. The only good sim games are the awesome "The Sims" games. In SimCity, th only way to build homes, hospitals, airports etc... is to use the urban renewal kit! If you build a city useing the regular game it does not build buildings at all! If you choose to make an area of land residential, it does not build homes, it colors the land green! This game is horrible! When you look at your finished city, it is a huge color coded land mass!

According to a lot of Sim City hard core players Sim City 2000 is better than the New Sim City 4 minus graphics. So I'll have wait and see if they are right.

Irritating Game

I see some people love this game. I on the other hand, dislike it very much. Mostly because in order to make your city happy, you need money to make the city better. But you run out of money to soon and try to make some adjustments in the taxes and everything, which makes the city unhappy. And while your trying to do all that, the roads keep getting messed up and needing repairs, you have to add more police stations to keep the crime at bay, ect. Plus, if your playing with the crisis', you'll have aliens burning your hard work down, earthquakes, ect. It's just not worth the time. Now if you love a tough challenge and have nothing else you can think of to do, then go right ahead and get it. Otherwise, don't waste your time or money. This is unlike the regular Sims game, which is the best PC game ever. I really can't wait for The Sims 2! Save your money for that one! It will be so much better than the first!

I'll write this review and we'll forget that I just sold it in a family yard sale.

First off, the sims that live in your city are not the brightest of people. Why the newspaper screams: "No Industry! City of Joblessness!", You load the place with commercial and industrial zones. Secondly, the newspapers use the same articles and just change some words, giving you headlines like: "Ferret Sqaushings!". Aw,well, I guess there really isn't a perfect game out is there?

I did like game overall though. (Sorry, this part may not be so long as the first because I don't want to start feeling sorry about selling it.) It is fun to see how much zoning, roads, power lines, education, ect., with your limited amount of money. Don't worry, if you keep your ratings up you can buy bonds when you lose that precious money.

If you get tired of starting from scratch, you can do a scenario. A scenario is where a problem has happened in a ready made town and you have to make entertainment, jobs, education, ect.. Never did well on the scenarios, in fact, I don't know if I did a blowing job on the normal play either! lol.

Like I said in the title, you'll have to make an exeption with the graphics as it is ancient.

Speeking of ancient, the reason I sold this game is because I want to save up and buy ZUES, Pharoah, CEASER 3, or something like that.

Great game but not alot of control!

Sim city 2000 is a great game. It shows you the basics of building a city. You have to keep your spending in control wich is very hard to do. I think it's a great game for kids 6 to 10. But an adult would enjoy this game too. Sim city 3000 is better if you looking to buy it for a teenager or adult. in Sim city 2000 it's seems that ounce you get into one bond you never come out of the hole. I realy recomend sim city 3000 more.

A classic game!!!!!!

Wow, I played this way back when it first came out and loved it to pieces. Upgraded my computer, my disc vanished and I mourned. Then today I was just cruising around idly punching in search features and found it again, SO HAPPY!

For all those who are saying how terrible this game is, how it is boring and don't buy it, well, all I can is foo on you. Sure it doesn't have 3D graphics, but I tried SC3k and it was just awful compared to this one. As someone posted earlier, it felt cartoonish and kind of clunky compared to this version.
