The Great Escape will be a great success

I have not played it,but ive seen the 1963 film starring Steve Mcqueen,and it was great.i just hope its not a plot to make money by naming it after a movie, like Minority Report.This review is dedicated to the 50.This game is based on movie based on a real escape from a nazi(left intentially lower case)prison camp that was "perfect" and no one could escape.Wrong!!!!!great game though

Who hasn't dreamed of being Steve Mcqueen in the great escape! This game has his image and voice, yes his actual voice from the movie. The demo looks and feels great. Gameplay should be wonderfully involving. Making that bike ride and clearing that wire on the Swiss border will make this worth buying alone.

Man, I started with the demo and I was instantly hooked. The graphics and realism were astounding! The sounds were pure and not choppy, along with the graphics. The plot (after watching the movie) was very accurate. This is truly one game that will rise to the top!

Played for 30 min got bored took it back to the video store.
Who ever came up with this idea for a game must have been on Geritol.

The Great Escape is a great game and I think everyone should play it.It might not have the best graphics but hey what game does! The story is great and takes you into the world of The Great Escape.The likeness of the characters is great,and the enemy A.I is superb.The missions are fun and each character has a special ability.For Example Macdonald can pick pockets,Hilts can pick locks,Hendly can speak German,and Sedgewick can Repair machinary.
The game includes strategy and stealth.It will be considered to me a masterpiece.So what are you waiting for go out and buy this game.

Admit it; if you've seen the classic movie, you were always kind of hoping Steve Mcqueen would really escape. Well here's your opportunity. I was 10 years old when the movie came out in 1965 and playing this game made me feel 10 years old again. Which really worked out perfect since I was taking turns alongside my army-game-loving six year-old (except for the times I wanted to grab the controls away and say, "Hey, it's MY turn again).
The graphics are not as good as Medal of Honor Frontine, but the variety and challenge of play is better and some levels are frustratingly hard (even set on Easy). Use your four saves throughout each level to save progress or you will scream in despair. It took us 12 days at an hour each day to beat the game. The shooter level (third to last) "Ambush" was my personal nemesis (and high mark when I finally beat it), but my son blew through the last two motorcycle driving escape levels in less than two attempts. Personally, my own Steve Mcqueen hasn't jumped the fence and escaped yet, but I will continue to have a blast trying. If only my kid will give me back the damn controller.

I rented this game a few days ago and am so far very pleased with the gameplay. To sum it all up, the game is just plain fun. It's not a mindless shooter game where you kill with out a cause, but instead a fun, stealthy, and sneaky game where you are required to use your brain, and stealth pays. I'm not sure why this game is not selling that well, but it is definitely a very solid game indeed.

I just rented this game, and have to say that it is simply awesome. Every bit as good as Medal of Honor Possibly even better. Each character has a diffrent skill. The stealth requirement makes it much harder than The Medal of Honor Series. The Graphics are great. And this game is a challenge even on the easy setting. I strongly recommend this game to anybody that enjoyed Medal of Honor, Syphon Filter, and Medal Gear. Yes in my humble opinion it is that good.

I have to tell you, the great escape is pur and simple fun.
Having purchased this game and played it many times and if you loved the movie you will truly enjoy the game. Being interrested in World War 2 history just goes to show how hard it must have been to escape from the prison camps. If you are wondering if you should buy it, i recommend it. The graphics are beautiful and the sound is great. 5 stars for THE GREAT ESCAPE.
