Great Esape - Great Game

Excellent Stealth-Action game. Good Graphics. Gameplay is actually quite similar to Splinter Cell. Same type of sneaking around. They're very similar games, but completely different story and setting. Kinda like how Bond and Medal of Honor have the same type of gameplay but different story and setting. For instance, in Splinter Cell you use an optic cable to peek under doors; in The Great Escape you peek through keyholes. Great Game to Play 8 hours strait on a rainy day, watch a football game, then play it for a few more hours.

I hired this game and it's good. The graphics were not polished just before it was released because they were working on Conflict Desert Storm 2...was well. You get the great bits from the movie when they were going through that man made tunnel to escape(it's tense if you watched the movie)and the infamous bike cene and when the guy guides the person that was blind in the train and many more.

I have to tell you, the great escape is pur and simple fun.
Having purchased this game and played it many times and if you loved the movie you will truly enjoy the game. Being interrested in World War 2 history just goes to show how hard it must have been to escape from the prison camps. If you are wondering if you should buy it, i recommend it. The graphics are beautiful and the sound is great. 5 stars for THE GREAT ESCAPE.

if you are looking for a game that is similar to MOH of Socom (I or II) or kill switch this is not the one. It is boring and you dont get to shoot things like the other two. Its a bad game thats should have never been sold.

You know, i am kinda confused by all the positive reviews. i couldnt' get into it from the start because of the awkward controlling scheme. The alternate patters for the controls also were awkward, so that alone hindered it. the graphics are also a little odd, and as hard as i tried, i couldn't get into the story, even though i loved the movie. great idea, just not executed well.

i love the movie and the game is great and exciting except i wish it would be more of a shooter instead of just stealth and boring objuctives. i also wish you'd have more freedom in the levels not just doing objectives and moving on; the game goes really fast. Besides that the game is just what i expected. I'd give it a try if you like/are familiar with the movie otherwise don't beacuse you'd get confussed.

The Great Escape is nearly as good as MGS3,to me this game is better than any Splinter Cell game-I ain`t a SC series fan anyway,its better than Mission:Impossible:Operation SURMA-a SC clone.Its just about nearly as good as MGS and Hitman.Its based on the early 60`s movie-The Great Escape.The movie is mentioned in Snake Eater ironically as the Major,Major Tom(i won`t spoil MGS3) names himself after one of the tunnels,anyone who watched the movie would know that "TOM" was one of the unlucky tunnels.
It weird that some of the movies mentioned in MGS3 have a game,as well as TGE also 007 From Russia With Love is mentioned,.and there is a 007 FRWL game now.Next there will be "It" Came From Outta Space game!

Played for 30 min got bored took it back to the video store.
Who ever came up with this idea for a game must have been on Geritol.

I love this game!!! It rocks!!!! As soon as i played it i had to buy it!! It's loaded whith stelth action and violence! it has it's downsides too. like you only get guns in a few levels. the guns you can get are:mp40,p08luger,sniper rifle,stengun,mg42,stickgrenade,panzerfaust,and an anti aircraft.also use your saves wisely.on easy mode you get 4 saves,medium, 3 and hard,2.also be carefull with guard towers.you get to be 4 characters. they each have there own skills. Basically if you like WW2,stelth,blood,guns,violence you'll like this game!!!

I have not played it,but ive seen the 1963 film starring Steve Mcqueen,and it was great.i just hope its not a plot to make money by naming it after a movie, like Minority Report.This review is dedicated to the 50.This game is based on movie based on a real escape from a nazi(left intentially lower case)prison camp that was "perfect" and no one could escape.Wrong!!!!!great game though
