What A Rush!

YDKJ: The Ride breaks the mold of its predecessors with a whole new goth/techno look! New games like Roadkill (which is almost too similar to Jack Attack) and Jack Bingo are great. All of the hosts are back, but Buzz is only limited to a few cameos. The Elevator Lady also stars in the game, messing with your name and commenting on the time, day, etc. While some may not like the new look or the loss of choosing the category, YDKJ: The Ride is the best the series has had so far!

The best JACK yet.

JACK 4 is by far the best JACK made to date. Instead of picking a category, you have to quickly pick the highest dollar amount you can, then they tell you the category. Screwing has never been better. Instead of just forcing someone to answer the question, you force someone to answer after you blast the screen with screws and cover up the question. Roadkill is very similar to the Jack Attack - but a lot more fun and more difficult. Jack Bingo is great; you have to pick the first letter of the word they're giving you the clue to. And they still have 2 classics: Gibberish Question and Dis-or-Dat. I HATE GIBBERISH QUESTIONS, and JACK 4 didn't make me like them anymore. I love Dis-or-Dat, though. And Dis-or-Dat is really sweet when you get over $10,000 per question (I'm not joking). JACK 4 is more intense and way more competitive. And having only 13 questions is great because those 21 question games can feel like they're dragging on sometimes. Also, in JACK 1, 2, & 3, you kind of knew who was gonna win by the time you got to question 16 or 17. Not so in Jack 4. I was playing with my sister, and she racked up more points in one question then I did in the entire game. If you love JACK, you must get JACK 4.

I love this game! It's funny, up-to-date, and top-of-the-line. Only 13 questions as opposed to the previous versions' 21, but still a must-have!

Man, this is the best YDKJ game ever! I own vols. 1-3, YDKJ TV, Movies, and YDKJ Netshow and needless to say, The Ride beats em' all! I love the new features such as "Roadkill" and "Bingo." Hosts Cookie and Schmitty are my faves! The game's hilarity ensues further when Buzz (host of YDKJ vol.2) tries to make his way to the top to host the show. I'm looking forward to more YDKJ products in the future.

YDKJ, Revemped.

Some people thought that this would be the same Jack Game as all the others, one host and categories. But they were dead wrong. This YDKJ changed the entire universe of the game forever. New Question types include Roadkill, Jack Bingo, and a new way to screw your neighbor called FlakJack. Nate, Guy, Cookie, and Schmitty all host it at some point. Buzz is limited to being sent to the bottom countless times. Every game starts off with a Moral Dilemma question that whisked you to different episode "floors" in some Jack-topian high-rise. It's about as tall as the Empire State Building. The Jack Trivia Buiding, who ever thought of that?

Instead of just choosing a category, you now choose the VALUE, that's right, you heard correctly, of the question. It's the best jack ever! Ever!

This game, I cannot tell you how much joy it has brought to my life. I started off with YDKJ TV because I am a TV buff (I'd like to think) and then as soon as I did every possible question in that series I saw they came out with a You Don't Know Jack THE RIDE, and I said to myself..random trivia could be interesting. I did not KNOW what I had in store for myself. This game is nothing compared to Vol. 1, 2, 3, Sports, TV, Movies, Offline, Louder! Faster! Funnier! (I've played them all), the nice people over at Jellyvision seemed to have hit a high note on this one. The RIDE is the epitome of what all the Jack games should represent; Funny, inventive, and different from the previous Volumes. I would buy this game for anyone who loves to laugh and be challenged with great trivia. I already bought THE RIDE for a friend and he hasn't stopped thanking me! This game is wonderful.

JACK Supreme, no other JACK game is better.

The Ride is without a doubt, the best game in the YDKJ game cannon. With a new gritty look, an almost completely revamped and terrific soundtrack, and jokes and hidden soundbites GALORE, this game puts a new, fresh face on the YDKJ trivia games with style and panache. Old question types make return apperances, my favorite question, the impossible question is gone, but there are new ones to take it's place. The Roadkill question for example gives you a pair of items that have a certain relation, ring in when the joining item shows up on screen to collect the money. There is also JACK Bingo and a new way to screw opponents! (For non JACK players, this means making your opponent answer a difficult question when they don't want to.) Ring in, hit the S key repeatedly to blast the screen with screws and force a fateless player to answer the question with a screw covered screen! By the way, instead of a fixed dollar amount each question, you can earn as much as say $229 to even $12,699 on some of the quesitons! This definetely helps keep the game interesting and more fun. Looping questions are dealt with by having you answer the moral dilemma at the begining of the game. Your choice determines the path of questions you recieve for trivia glory. All five of the hosts from the previous games are present, Buzz-the surfer dude host-is thankfully limited to cameos. You even get to see glimpses of them when you reach the very end. THE RIDE is without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played and has earned a permanent spot on my hard drive. Good Fun!

YDKJ games are very fun to play, and the feuding of the hosts makes it more interesting. It's like a soap opera with the hosts.

You seem to learn something new everytime you play this game, whether it's about Shakepeare or the Brady Bunch.

So if you you love trivia games, and have a sense of humor buy this game.

This game also works on the Windows XP operating system.

Better than watching TV

You Don't Know Jack: The Ride is, to anyone familiar with the others, both similar and different. Similar in that the same slightly off-humor-yet-intellectually-stimulating manner continues, different because of the game setup. Thirteen-question "shows" of a (loosely) related topic make up each game, and references to questions answered before are common, giving it a strange sense of continuity. Not every topic is a hit, but it's still pretty good. And while the humor is definately "adult," that's not necessarily the same as "obscene." In fact, the fine line between sarcasm and hostility is danced upon so often it makes for a fresh dose of comedy each play. New games--"Bingo" and "Roadkill" are also surprisingly fresh. (Though I liked the Threeways from Jack 3, which are not included; apparently the only person who enjoyed them was me.) I also miss the fiber optic field trips, which are also missing. But these might only clog up the game, which is smooth and clear. The graphics and sound are simple yet pleasing, and the cycling-host concept was played up to an enjoyable level. About the only gripe i have is the score selection process, where different values and categories flip quickly pass, and its two shades away from random what you end up with. I enjoyed picking my own topic in the old games. To veterans, The Ride offers something different, not necessarily better or worse. If you enjoyed the other games, you'll enjoy this. Even if you felt like the formula was getting tired by YDKJ3, this might pick you up again. For those who have never played this before, it's worth buying to find out, though picking up a cheap copy of YDKJ1 in the bargain bins first might save you some cash. I doubt it, though; it's an addictive franchise.

Great for anyone who loves 'Jack'

I've liked Jack ever since the first one. Recently (last Easter) I got the Irreverent Collection for my birthday and this was included in it. I could tell it was a different Jack from the moment I saw the cover with the upside down Jack. Since I got and installed it on Easter, I was in for a surprise- when I started playing the game, it wished me a happy Easter and informed me that that was one of the many cookies the programmers had put into the game. I thought that was pretty damn cool. It's more fast paced, gritty and lots and lots of fun.
