Addictive...I love it!

This game is so much fun (maybe because I know all the cheat codes, maybe not). I have played lots of games like this, and this collection includes some of the best. It's a lot like the Caesar series from Sierra, just with more civilizations. You still get to build your own "city." In these games, you create villagers, monks, armies, and whatever else you need to collect enough food, gold, wood, and rock to build the buildings of your "city." You also have to fight to defend it. You can play some of the historical campaign scenarios, create your own scenarios, or play with other players via the Internet. Great games. I always get antsy when my brother is playing because I want a turn! :)

I own alot of game packs like Starcraft,Warcraft,Age of empires, and Diablo etc. and Age of empires is the best game I ever played. The computer players are smart unlike in Warcraft, and the game has alot more types of people than in Starcraft.For newbies it's a great game because it doesnt cost as much as the Starcraft pack I bought and it doesnt get boring if you play it 24/7 like Warcraft does.I think it's one of the best games in the world and they should make a movie for it somehow. My favorite feature is that you can pick what type of civilation you like like roman,chinese,vikings etc. My favorite in Age of empires one is the Romans.You get them in the rise of rome expansion pack.I like there gold armor.In Age of empires 2 I like the Chinese because of those archers that can shoot there arrows VERY fast.theyre real powerful in groups.

I like Age Of Empires PC game a lot cause this is the only best game that allows you play strategy game on a PC and still can learn a little bit of history(just kidding).....I have spend a lot of time (I should say lot of my life).

It is really good on a big/fast processor..with a good video card...

I have been playing Age of Empires for more than a decade now. I have always been a fan and even now I find some time to commit to this game. I remember AOE... how basic of a strategy game it was, but in its period, Warcraft was terrible compared to this game. Rise of Rome expansion was a decent upgrade to newer range of units, I loved the Legions and the Centurions... even though they did not fight in formation, they were killer infantry units. Upgradewise, AOE 2 was undoubtedly the best. It was better than any real time strategy game and still reigns this genre. It made the game so much more easier to play. The graphics very much more appealing than the AOE I's uneven size relations. Ensemble Studios introduced unique units for each civilization. Conqueror's expansion just seemed to complete what the original one lacked.. it made the game more efficient to play. AOE II was just so good that when I lost my first one I bought another one to cause I could not resist. The 2 games with their expansion packs original total price is over $50, and 10 bucks is a steal. This is a great game for children who hate history. The campaigns in both games are pretty close to history and the developers definitely did their research pretty good. Just to add, Age of Mythology and AOE 3 is awesome too!

It came in the mail BRAND NEW 4 games for only 10 Dollars unlike the store price of 30 dollars

This collectors edition has all of the Age of Empire games ever made. Even teh old one is good. You will never get tired of it. You can play it on what I think is teh best onlne gaming site in the world, The Zone. There are lots of different civilizations Plus about 50 different types of units. The only bad thing is that the cut scenes are just the game with voices and characters that you controlled a second ago. Like the the music? It come with a 17 track CD of it. This game is definitly worth your money.

Well, at least the Age of Kings game works...

You all should know about the game play of these games from other reviews. I'll focus just on this package.

I bought this for the Age of Kings and the AOK expansion pack -- I already have the Age of Empires: Gold Edition. So, it shouldn't matter that the version of AOE doesn't load on my computer (it freezes just as the load is about finished). I mean, I did get an AOK: Gold for a good price. But, I'm kind of sorry all the games included don't work.

I like this game cause it has action. And it also teaches how it was like to build a village during the Romen times, and the challenges that comes along with building a village, such as:shortage of food, wood, and stone, and also worry about intruders that try to destroy your village. But to keep a live you must build a big village with great military and defeat the other villages.

not good for young children

this game is not good for young children or people that get panic attacks. this game is very intense at certain parts.
