first off I would like to say I'm the biggest capcom fan out there, and thats the main reason that anniversary collection got 3 stars if any.
I am not bashing the games or gameplay ,they're awesome but with so many great games out there is a bit dissapointing to see that capcom is not making forth the effort to please the fans.the game has been compress into a 1 disc, instead of the 2 disc japanesse realease with a third dvd packed with goodies , which means that the graphics have been toned down greatly making it look like a bootleg dvd.the anime movie is there as well, sadly is the US version with understandable cut of Chun li shower scened but the fighting aswell? come on they are all pretty mild compare to todays standars they should have rather sacrifice the movie instead of the game graphics so unless you have ps2 only and are longing for third strike,or you are casual gamer go for it.Otherwise stick to sf collection for ps one with alpha2 gold included and third strike for dreamcast, your best bet.believe me I already did the shoping for you

The summary says it is 6 games in one. Really, it's only 2 games in one. Street Fighter III is a blast and one of the most fun games in the series. Loads of characters, new moves, and new locations. This game alone would've gotten a 5.
Then there's supposedly 5 Street Fighter games: Street Fighter II, Championship, Turbo, Super Turbo ... and one other I can't remember because in truth it's not there.
It's hard to explain, but instead of choosing one of the five games to play, you play one game but choose from which game your opponents come from. The game menus are the same, the world map that flies back and forth is the same, everything except what characters you fight.
Also, I still have Street Fighter II for super nintendo. The game is incredibly easy on level 0. So easy that it can be beaten with straight perfects. Level 5 is a challenge. In the Anniversy edition, the "easiest" difficulty level is the same as difficulty 5 on the super nintendo. Which is very annoying.
On top of all that, I bought the game hoping to have Street Fighter Alpha included. Then I thought maybe I remembered wrong and Alpha was really Turbo. Nope, Alpha not included.
But 3rd Strike makes the game worth it. Easily.

My son loves this game. I ordered it at a very good price. It was recieved in a very timely manner after a lot of people told me that they could not find it anywhere.

Street fighter has always been one of my most favorite fighting games.
And 3rd Strike is, in my opinion, the BEST Street Fighter that has ever been made. Also having the original Street Fighter 2 in the package is a plus. But after getting used to playing 3rd Strike, trying to play SF2 is kinda hard. Of course this is my humble opinion.
if you are a street fighter fan this is a MUST HAVE for your collection

The Street Fighter Anniversary Collection collects Hyper Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, of which the often underrated Street Fighter III is worth the price of admission here alone. The game features great animation and a great fighting roster (of which Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, and Akuma are the only familiar characters), as well as a wonderfully fluid and accessable fighting system. Hyper Street Fighter II is an amalgamation of every form of Street Fighter II that ever saw the light of day, from Hyper Fighting to Super Street Fighter II: Turbo. This mish-mash has it's hits and misses, but still delivers the goods regardless. The PG-13 rated version of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is included as a bonus feature, which is a little disappointing. Considering Street Fighter's rich history in video games, one may think that there would be a good deal of supplemental material to be had. But there isn't, and that's a shame. Other than that though, this is still a great collection, and for every 2-D fighting and/or Street Fighter fan, this collection is an essential pick-up.
Great classic fun that still pleases

In the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection you get to play both Street Fighter II - Turbo and Street Fighter III - Third Strike.
First, realize that this set lets you play OLD versions of Street Fighter. So you have to expect lower quality graphics and sound than modern games have. It's a way to let you see the origins of this series, and to see how far the game has come in only a few years.
That being said, it is actually quite fun to play these games. Street Fighter II Turbo has a cartoony feel to the characters, who only move left and right against stationary backgrounds. You might get an elephant trunk to curl occasionally, but that's about it. The characters are reasonably detailed, and most are white males with an occasional girl or monster thrown in.
The moves are fun but have very basic animations. There are only a few voices that all characters share.
With Street Fighter III, you get a pretty impressive upgrade in graphics. The characters are much more anime-like with smooth attacks. The characters in general are fluid, with moving belts and fabric. The backgrounds are more detailed, with flying birds and moving people. It is still a left-right fighter but gameplay is much more enjoyable.
The sound in the levels is themed to each level and gets you in the mood. I do get annoyed by the entry screen music which is loud and rappy, but luckily you don't have to listen to that for long. There are more women available on this version, and the characters in general are ones you can feel a connection with instead of looking at them as random pixel people. There are bonus stages and grading to enhance replayability. In one bonus stage, you beat up on a SUV!
While I only play Street Fighter II occasionally for historical interest, Street Fighter III is quite fun even in modern times and is great either alone to beat your previous scores or against a friend for head to head fun. And you can't beat the low price!
PERFECT

This is the best game ever. No other game is as fun as this one. By taking SF2 - SSF2T and putting them together was a great idea. If you don't like it, you suck. Buy it today! It only costs 25 bucks here. Why spend that money on a game you know will suck? Just invest it in this game and you won't be disappointed. Straight out of Shadaloo.
Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III, plus the movie....

The game lets you select SF2 or SF3. If you select SF2 you can select what character versions you want (Standaard, Championship, Turbo, Super, Super Turbo, etc..). All the character are included. From the best I can tell all backgrounds are in as well. Overall not bad... untill you start a single player game and that leads to the one unforgivable problem here, there's a bug in SF2 (all versions) that makes the game always play on HARDEST. Making it near impossible to win against the computer (at least for most of us). You can go into options and set it ot EASY, nothing changes.
This bug doesn't effect SF3. On SF3 the difficulty setting seems to work as expected. SF3 is pretty awesome! I've played the Playstation (PSOne) port of the game a long time ago and remember how poor it was compared to the arcade version. On this version Capcom got it right. If you think of this compilation as Street Fighter III with bonus features you'll be happy.
The included SF2 Movie is kind of hidden (you have to go into the gallery on SF2 and you'll find it) the quality isn't as good as the stand alone DVD release, as expected it is the edited version.
Good value. If they would have included the original Street Fighter, the three Alpha series games, and corrected the difficulty problem with SF2 I would have given this *****
Needs a little polishing!

I am a HUGE SFII fan and was SO excited about this release. First off I can't believe so many people are complaining that the original characters aren't here??!?!?! They are ALL here! What some people dont remember is that mostly the differences between say Normal SFII and SFII Turbo etc is just the speed and a few moves. the graphics only changed at the title screen when selecting your character. The big difference in graphics were really from SFII to the champion series or the new game Third Strike. Third strike is AWESOME on this game and almost perfect! The controls are RIGHT on and tight! The only thing Im disappointed with is the controls on the older games like turbo/champion etc. The controls are a bit sloppy. Its almost near impossible to pull of a dragon punch with Ken or Ryu in this game but simply easy in Third Strike. Now, I played SFII on my SNES to death and was able to pull off all of the moves with ease then but here its a bit on the sloppy side. I mostly got this for Third Strike anyway but hoped the original was tight and it isnt. Its quite a let down but is still neat to see all the games on one disc. Im sure if I had a joystick I might be able to play the originals better but third strike is the masterpiece here! If youre a fan of SFII this is a MUST own game it also comes with the original animated film which is a great bonus! Im sure with more patience and time I can get used to the sloppy controls with the older games here but in the meantime it goes down with a rating of 4 out of 5 due to this quirk. It's too bad the controls werent tighter this could have been the ULTIMATE SFII game collection!
