The Journeyman Project Turbo

Ok, I have The Journeyman Project Turbo (Which is included in the trilogy) It is probably one of the best, most intriguing games i have ever played. It has an awesome storyline as well as great graphics. It has a great way of unfolding all of the events that happen in the past.

But, beware- If youdo any slightly wrong movements, you will get an error message- and belive me, it is annoying! But overall, this is one of the best games you will ever play. On a 10 point rating, Iwould give it an eleven!

Fun but.....

I have played this game before I bought it and I liked it so much I decided to buy it. However once I had the game I was a little disapointed especially in the third installment: Legacy of Time, which was my favorate. After one time through beating it, it loses its fun. Also, the first two games: Journeyman Project and Buried in Time don't work well on more modern computers, I would keep that in mind.

Lots of humor, and nicely made

The Journeyman Project 3 (TJP3) is a nice game overall, and certainly worth the money. Ok, the graphics are a bit outdated, but having said that, it is certainly a game worth buying and playing. The storyline is not all that orginal - you have to go back in the past to find clues to a mystery in present day or future. In short, it's up to you to save the earth. For those who played the (very disappointing) `Schizm', yes, it must have been a inspiration to the Schizm-makers.... TJP3 has lots of humor, more than any other adventuregame I've played. It provides you with hints and nudges if you want to. The suuroundings, especcially the Tibetan region, is stunning, and very true to life (I've been in Tibet...). So, long story short: this game is a good buy. Note that the first two installments of this game, TJP1 and TJP2, will encounter frequent problems on newer computers. TJP1 might not run at all, TJP might experience difficulties in reading some of the cd's. TJP2, by the way, is in the same class as TJP3 - great story.

Great Sci-Fi Action

Being very ahead of it's time, the Journey Man Project series delivers a great challenge to both amateur and expert players. Above average.

The best series ever

I had some compatability problems with the first game in the series. The graphics and game play were what you would expect from a mid 80s game.

The last two games in the series made up for what the first one lacked. The game storyline was it's biggest strength. The graphics on the last two games was quite good and their game play much better than the first game. The third game was the best in terms of game play. It was cool to be able to scroll around with the mouse and look all around.

After playing the second game, I was so excited to see that there was a third Journeyman Project being released. The third one was just as good if not better than the second.

My favorite part was the wise cracking computerized lifeform named Arthur that got downloaded into my time travel suit. Arthur kept me in stitches throughout the last two games.

I enjoyed these games so much I hated to see them come to an end.

Maybe someday the software companies will do modern day remakes of these classic adventure games. I can only imagine how cool this game would be if it were remade using modern 3d game engines. (I guess I'm just dreaming.) Hmmm. I just realized how big of a geek I am. I really should get a life. Maybe even a girlfriend.

I recommend this game series whole heartedly.

When I got the Box, I opened it up and discovered Cd's all mixed up and out of their little holding slits. the packaging was so cheap that during shipping the cd's were severly scratched by the other CD's! So much that none of the games will work.

DO Not Buy!!!

Excellent game during it's time.

I have had Journeyman Project Turbo for a long time, and I've always enjoyed playing it.

-This game also works on Windows 2000 with service pack 3!

I've tried it on Windows 2000 and still works with no flaws.

Journeyman Project 3-Legacy of Time

I've only played number 3, and I was thoroughly impressed. The graphics, sound, plot, environments and puzzles were amazing. You play as Agent Blackwood, an agent of the TSA. Agent 3 is a criminal and a traitor, but she knows something so astounding that she'd turn herself in. A legacy of knowledge hidden on earth. 3 highly advanced ancient cities-Atlantis, El Dorado and Shangri-La, destroyed. But who destroyed them? Why? What secrets lay inside....
Graphics-Incredibly detailed.

Sound-High quality.
Plot-Wonderful-complex, detailed, and amazing.
Puzzles-Creative, but a little chalenging. You have to think hard.
Environments-Amazing. It's incredible to see what someone imagined Atlantis, El Dorado and Shangri La could have been. Fun to explore.

All around-5 stars. Worth every penny!

The bugs might as well be a puzzle...

From the title, it probably sounds like I hate these game, but that's not true. I got the Journeyman Project Turbo with my old computer, and loved all the puzzles. When I saw this collection, I knew that it was my only chance to grab the Journeyman 2, and 3 has become harder to find.

However, JP2 would not run, giving me an error that I was missing a CD, even though it was the RIGHT CD. Using all my resourcefullness, I managed to use a demo, save on another disk, and then play the game that way. However, I encountered more problems. I STILL couldn't get back to the apartment, which made the Farnstein's lab puzzles impossible. In Chateau Galliard, the wall wouldn't be crushed properly (Yes in my desperation I consulted a walkthrough), so I could not get down from the wall. Finally, DaVinci's workshop would cause my computer to crash or not show up at all unless I ran it in low graphics mode.

So I went on to JP3, with no errors until I hit the fourth CD. In Shangri-La the game would lock up when I tried to gain access to the steam tunnels, denying me that part of the game.

Ultimatly, these games are fun, but be aware that they may not work perfectly, and Technical support will NOT help (I know from experience.)

Don't expect to play them all

The title and rating may be a bit confusing, so let me explain. After purchasing the trilogy, my husband and I were only able to play the 1st and 3rd games. We had a few minor problems getting the first one to run, but once we got it going we found the game to be fun and interesting. Definitely impressive considering the time it was published. After installing the second game (Buried in Time) we were unable to start because of an error. When prompted to insert the 2nd CD "nothing happened". We were unable to solve this problem, so we exchanged the game twice. The two replacement games had the same problem. Technical support was no help at all. We tried to contact the manufacturer, but that was a dead end. So we gave up. In any case, the third game was excellent. Legacy of Time made up for the other problems. We figure the third game alone was worth the [money]. Maybe this is a common problem and that is why three games for the price seems like such a good deal. We hope to find a way to play Buried in Time eventually. Let me just end by saying, we are still very disappointed about not being able to play the second game - but Legacy of Time was great. ...
