First off, this game won't be relesed for almost a year, so ever wrote "unbelievable" is making a lots of stuff up. By the time this game is released, this game may be way behind the pack, or way ahead; no one knows because it is almost a year from now. Don't listen to him. Besides, who would beleive "some guy from Bonerland"?
To the guy who hates jedi knight

You have the magazine with the review, that automatically makes you an authority on games? Sure, the Quake III engine is far from perfect, but when did games become only about the graphics? It's all about story, characters and GAMEPLAY!!! Graphics are secondary, they should only be used to enhance gameplay.
I, for one am looking forward to the release of Jedi Outcast. I hope it's as good as Jedi Knight. If it is, we've got another hit on our hands.
Wow!!!

I just finished beating Jedi Outcast a couple days ago and I'm ready to play it again at Jedi Master level! The graphics are great, the storyline kicks [buttox], and your arsenal of weapons and force powers are outstanding! LucasArts/Raven has done an excellent job with the force powers and lightsaber maneuvers, not to mention the flips in the air and the walk-on-the-wall trick. There is so much thought that was put into this game it's incredible. I'm usually the one who buys a game and makes copies for friends but not this time. I told all my friends to buy a copy since it was so awesome. Even if you are not a Star Wars fan, you will definitely enjoy the game and be in awe because of it. Those of you who think the graphics aren't the best doesn't make the game worse. The most important part of a game is the gameplay and the storyline. Max Payne has incredible graphics, but I was bored after a couple days of game play. Games like Deus Ex and the Jedi Knight series, well, I could play them forever.
(Insert corny Star Wars pun here)

My firend bought this game two weeks ago. As his computer was in the shop for upgrades, he came over to my place to use my computer.
We chose to put the game on my laptop because my sister was on the desktop at the time.
What we installed on my laptop was a really, really top-notch Star Wars game that completely lives up to previous titles.
The graphics are smooth and stable (even on my 16mb Mobile Radeon pushed through a P3 866, 256mb RAM), including cut scenes. Sound is very good and conveys the magic of the Star Wars universe perfectly (Lucas Arts got the swooshing sound of the light saber and the chatter between Storm Troopers dead accurate.)
Gameplay does a good job of combining shooting with solving puzzles and trying not to get yourself killed. Game design is downright genious at times. The solution to a puzzle can be right smack in front of my face, and I won't see it. I'll take 1/2 an hour to find it, and when I do, that "D'oh!" feeling of discovery is GREAT.
So far (I have yet to actually finish the game- I've been working on American McGee's Alice) the story line is pretty good, although further explination of some plot themes for the people (like me) who never saw the kiddy fest that was Star Wars: Episode I would be nice.
My two chief complaints are (as with a LOT of ames) there's no SKIP button for the FMV sequences, ( <---- NOTE TO DEVELOPERS READING REVIEWS OF THEIR NEW PRODUCT- THIS IS A REALLY GOOD IDEA. PLEASE USE IT IN THE FUTURE!) and the long-ish load times.
All in all, this a great game, faithful to the series.
I don't know how they did it, but Amazon.com's got this game for a lot less than you'll find if for at brick-and-mortar stores, so I strongly suggest you buy from them.

I too had great fun with the PC version. The only low-score I give it is in the cut-scenes, they are very poor. However, I hear they improved it on the Mac version.
The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is I wish I could have stolen a TIE fighter or do some kind of piloting. I also wish that I could have gone through the game with 2 or 3 other players-- Minor qualms.
You will find yourself spending more time just looking around at all the beautiful "Star Wars-esque" locations. All levels are excellent, except for the mining area, which is very poor.
I cannot say enough how fun the game becomes once you get your lightsaber, that is the most excellent weapon in your arsenal!

This game is okay. There are some cool things and some things that suck. The story is that you're a new republic mercenary and you and your girlfriend are going to investigate this imperial outpost that appears to be abandoned. From here the plot develops. Now, down to the game.
Pros
OK Graphics
Some hilarious physics (you can open some airlocks and set 20 stormtroopers flying out into space hehehehe)
Cool force powers
A nice amount of weapons
Cool multiplayer mode with tons of maps and bots
Nice cutscenes
Stormtroopers and officers talk casually about really funny things
Low system requirements
Medium size levels (plenty of them too, there are 25 in all)
Cons
The shadows are crappy
Some really confusing puzzles
Unrealistic payload
Useless texturing
You are way to strong
First level is hard even on easy mode
When you have 17 players playing on multiplayer it can get pretty jerky
Many missions where you have keep other goodguys alive (AARGH!)
Mushy scenes with your girlfriend
Verdict
All in all this is a pretty good game. The levels are fun and big. The enemies are plenty (the more the merrier). LucasArts could have down a better job with the graphics and the puzzles are to hard the first time. However, multiplayer is a hugely reedeeming quality. Also, here at amazon, the price is great. You are getting a lot of bang for your buck.
Great Game! Super Addictive!

I just got this game! The Graphics are pretty good. They aren't Max Payne level of Graphics, but they are certainly better than Quake3 which is the graphics engine this game uses. The Developers definitely took great advantage of the Quake3 engine with this game!
The Game play is fun with plenty of action. The E11 blaster is not very accurate, but adds to the challenge, becuase the storm troopers' are really stupid! They are smart enough to try and surround you but too stupid to react to you shooting them until they see you! lol! No wonder Luke Skywalker and Han Solo always made mince meat of them! They're bumble heads! The other game enemies however do put up a better challenge. Thankfully it seems that their weapons aren't much more accurate than yours!
The secret area's aren't to hard to find but if you rush through a level you'll miss them. It makes for a good balance..not impossible to find them if you take your time, but it keeps the replay value high! And you'll need the replay value, if you are like me and die a lot and always forget to save! I haven't even gotten my Light Saber yet, but I'm still addicted! I can't wait for the light Saber!
The sound is excellent as well. The soundtrack is straight from the films, and all the weopons and characters sound just how they should! The Sound completely makes you feel like your in a star wars movie!
Go Buy this game, you won't regret it! If you love star wars, this is a must buy. If you don't love star wars, but love a great first person shooter with an actual storyline! Go get this game! The Single Player game is completely fun and addictive! I haven't even played this online yet! I'm so addicted to the single player part right now, I haven't even tried the multiplayer, and I have broadband and play Unreal, Quake3, and Counter Strike all the time. Infact this game has caused me to go a week with out any Counter Strike! That's a new record for me! GET THIS GAME!
Best Star Wars game ever

I waited almost 5 years from the release of the original Jedi Knight to play this game, and I must say I am quite pleased with LucasArts and Raven Software's new game Jedi Outcast.
Pluses: Great single player storyline, use of lightsaber and Force powers to thwart enemies, replayability is good. Graphical environment is stunning and sound design is awesome. Thriving multiplayer community - you can download maps, skins and other enhancements to the game (for instance, a Darth Vader, Aurra Sing or Darth Maul skin and play online as the character)
Minuses: needs a really high end system to make it run well, some irritating bugs in multiplayer (such as Dark side powers dominating games) and in single player (can't kill enemies when shooting at point blank range), inexplicable lockups especially with Athlon PCs and NVIDIA cards. Also, multiplayer is a little uninspiring, though you can try Force and Saber only matches or one on one duels for variety.
Fortunately at least one patch has been released so far to fix certain issues.
Great Game!

This game *will* having you looking on the net for a cheat codes unless your a hardcode gamer, maybe even then. Even on the lowest difficulty setting you'll find yourself getting beat up pretty bad at times. As mentioned in other reviews you go the first two levels without your lightsaber or jedi forces, after that you get to do some neat things with the lightsaber and your jedi powers. One of the funniest things you can do is sneak up on a sniper near a ledge and force-push him over the side, yes thats silly, but it makes me laugh, what can I tell ya, I'm easily amused.
This is the best game based in the star wars universe so far, if your a dork like me you'll enjoy this one.
