In short, if you ever wanted to be a jedi, this is the best way to experiance that. The easiest level still feels in the very least challenging. And the multiplayer owns. Its worth a buy, even for a not-so avid fan.

single player...so so...multiplayer is the way to go

umm no rhyme intented but it's true, the multi-player is so much fun!! the best arena is the streets level... all bridges no ground... u fight with your custom character that u created and use ur trickest tactics to defeat them. my favorite move is to put my light saber away, wait for someone to charge at me, and then use the the force ability and throw them off the bridge, hoping they missed any platforms off the side. this can back-fire though if they are standing still with full energy. you can even join the dark side and choke ur opponent to death. but nothing beats a good duel one on one. the characters move so fluidly and the controls are easy to master.
so buy this game!! maybe a 3v3 duel sometime?

This is going to be a must buy!!!

This game rocks! It has great graphics, good control, and is tons of fun! The best part is the multiplayer mode. It is really fun in Jedi Master mode, because when you become the master, you have both light and dark force powers.

Excellent game...

This game is excellent - the story, graphics, sound, effects, reality, playability and everything else you want in a game are great. Make sure you have a decent video card though. This game requires a very good video card for maximum satisfaction. I began playing with my onboard card and enjoyed the game but wanted to enjoy it at its full potential so I went out and bought a good 64MB video card for... It was well worth it and I would recommend that anyone who buys this game should do the same. All in all this game was great and everyone should enjoy it!

JEDI KNIGHT 2 RULES (and it is comin to mac!!!!!)

jedi knight 2 jedi outcast is REALLY COOL!!!! The graphics are exelant and the force powers are rad!! The forces are force speed, force push, pull, mind trick, heal(this is really handy),strangle(my fav u can pick someone up and use them 4 a shield or strangle them to death or if you wanna have alot of fun drop them over an edge!!!), force jump, and last but not least force lightning( it can hit multiple targets) This could be good or bad but the levels are long and complex with alot of dubbling back to go get someone or flip a switch. there are also online games and just multi player with computer generated charecters. The down side to this game is u dont get force or light saber until about the 5th level but that can be fixed by a cheat look it up on cheatcc.com. oh ya u can also level up your force powers and mix it up with the bad jedi dudes!! my point is the game is really SWEET!!!!!!!!!!

very sweet

I just want to say Lucas' Arts,Activision, and Raven did a awesome job on this game. The graphics are sharp, the sound is great, and the plot is good. I especially enjoyed the saber combos and the imperials' conversations. I also enjoyed the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: DF2. They were games almost ahead of their time.
Jedi Outcast places you in the role of former Jedi Knight Kyle Katarn, who is now a mercinary for the republic. Along with his partner Jan Ors, they are virtually unstoppable. When Kyle and Jan are assigned to check out a small "abandoned" imperial outpost, they find out that the remnant are trying to regain their empire. After they return from the supposed "blue milk run" they are assigned to check out the small mining world of Arctus Prime. As Kyle evaluates the situation, Jan calls in the New Republic Troops. Once the mining operation has been crippled, Kyle makes his way to his ship. He finds out Jan has been kidnapped by a dark Jedi named Desann and his partner, another Dark Jedi named Tavion. He tries to fight Desann, but fails. As Desann tells him he's "not worth the effort it would take" Desann decides to kill Jan instead. Having lost the one thing he cared for more than himself, Kyle decides to reclaim his title as a Jedi Knight and get back his lightsaber.
With an arsonal of over 6 weapons, including the lightsaber, you can fight your way through the amazing levels that really give the game a Star Wars touch. With your weapons at your disposal, you can fight some classic enemies (stormtroopers, imperial officers, probe droids, etc.) and some new enemies (reborn, shadowtroopers just to name a few). If you are just the run-of-the-mill Star Wars fan, or you like 1st person shooters this game is for you.

Kyle Katarn is AWESOME

Few games are able to combine a great story with great fighting. The computer version (the only good version) of Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast acheives this. With that in mind I will give u what I beleive are the pros and cons of Jedi Outcast.

PROS:
Awesome Story
Great Lightsaber Action
Awesome Weapons
Nice long engaging levels
Kyle Katarn ROCKS
Sweet Soundtrack
Awesome Graphics
Lives up to Jedi Knight and Dark Forces

CONS:
Only 3 Bosses (and only 2 are Jedi)
Enemies are a little bit too easy to kill

So that sums it up... soooo... BUY THE GAME WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, IT ROCKS (well the computer version does) all of the other versions suck.

....

How does it stack up to the console versions?

Jedi Outcast is, beyond any doubt, one of the greatest games in the Star Wars saga I have ever played. Which says a lot, since many aren't that great and lack the "immersement" feel that is so vital to a good Star Wars game.

But what's this? You can buy this game for Xbox and Gamcube too?
Let's compare.

So, how are the graphics? It depends on the computer you're looking at now. I have JKII for my GCN (Nintendo Gamecube) and my PC. The PC wins in the graphics department. The Xbox has better graphics than a Cube, but a decently-equipped PC blows them out of the water.

Sound? Depends on the computer, but most should have great sound. It's a tie here between the console and the PC.

Multiplayer options? The PC, with its online capabilities, is better as well.

Cheats? The PC wins with a vast amount more cheats than the console versions. Invisiblity, God mode, passing through walls, all force powers anywhere....the consoles have none of these fun goodies.

Replay? The consoles have the standard levels, and not much else.
The PC can download new maps and character models with relative ease.

Modding? For those not familiar, Mods are modifications to a game. They typically replace an aspect of the game to enhance or alter it. Sort of like removable patches. Since the console versions do not have these, the PC wins here too.

Control: This is where the PC gets sticky. Keyboard controls are very cumbersome to those not used to them. The mouse can be used, but it doesn't help much. Fortunately, if one has a few bucks to spend, one can buy a controller for the PC.
However, consoles come already equipped with controllers, so the Consoles win here.

I recommend: Try the free demo. Decide if you like it, and buy it if you do. You won't regret it.
