The weapons are cooler the missions are longer(and harder). This is not your tpyical first person shooter of "Blow stuff up". Stratagy plays a large part and most of the missions are quite challenging. The enemy is smarter and more ruthless and smarter then in the previous games. Although they sometimes still manage to do dumb stuff that baffles the mind. There was one incident where I only had 20 helth left and the 6 guys behind this one door came at me 1 at a time. Now only a computer would ever think that was clever. You ca preety much have a lot of fun with this game The force powers are wonderful and the movements precise (this was not the case in DF 2) you have force speed, force jump, force heal Force Lightning and epic lightsaber Duels(in fact this is pretty mucha ll you do in the multiplayer modes because if you go after 16 other guys armed with lightsabers with a blaster rifle you will die.) I mean you just wouldn't die the other players will mop the floor with you.My impression - I liked this game a whole lot but it seemed to me that that the game was really scripted at some points too focused on a linear completion of the mission. The most striking example of this is the first mission where (with the learning curve) I wandered around for almost 2 hours looking for the stupid code keys. Then having found the code keys a door was opened. Even though the mission technicallly ended at that point you were still only halfway through.Conclusion-Don't let peety compliants such as this keep you from buying the game it was stil very fun

Super Duper SW Game.

If you liked the original / SW / Half-Life, you'll love this game. So basically that accounts for 98% of the people reading this. As for the other 2%, let me convince you:
You get to use a lightsaber.
Luke and Lando are both big parts of the game.
One of the best 1st/3rd person shooter/action/exploring games I've ever played.
Go buy now.

Awesome game!

I love this game! I got it last march when it came out and am still playing it. The graphics are great, the weapons rock, and the storyline is awesome. This is by far the best game I have played. I have not tested the full power of multiplayer because for one, I have a slow internet connection and two, I don't like to play on ... Microsoft's zone site.(I am a Linux user.) Buy this game!!! It ROCKS!!!

Star Wars Fans must have.

Ever wanted to be a Jedi, wield a light saber, and use the force, well here you go. This game is a FPS (First Person Shooter) which means you play this game from the perspective of being the character in a 3D world. It's probably one of the best concepts for a FPS put out. With so many games giving you a gun and letting you blast your way thru each level, this one makes it a little more difficult and is a very nice change. The bonus is that you get to play thru a Star Wars Movie. Can't wait for Jedi Academy to come out.

Excellent Game

I have to admit the first time I played it I wasn't sure how I felt about it mainly because I had to do a good bit of tweaking on my computer to get it to work right, but I am currently replaying it and loving every second of it. The single player is most impressive with top notch graphics, and a kick [rear] and totally engrossing storyline. The lightsaber matches are the best part to me, the moves you can do make it thrilling and incredibly fun to do. The multiplayer is excellent as well. I hope there is a another game in the works as I want more of this to play.
Hats off to Lucasarts and Raven software for an excellent game

This game has features like no other game

We've all seen the Star Wars movies and many of us know what a lightsaber is, but how many of us have played the role of a Jedi on a computer game? This game is actually "Dark Forces 3", with familiar characters Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors once again as the heroes of the story (I actually like it when game sequels keep the main characters). Kyle does not start out with any force powers, but gets them later in the game. My favorite thing to do in the game is use force jump & then use force pull to pull your enemies way into the air and then watch them fall to the earth. I also use the force grip & use force push to push them into the air or off ledges. The game uses the Quake III Arena engine and the graphics are even better than Q3A. The facial expressions of the characters are almost cute and quite convincing. The sound is superb and the music is from the Star Wars soundtracks. With plenty of levels, weapons, characters, force abilities and a very good storyline, this game is one of my most favorites of all time. I've literally lost track of how many times I've played it in sp mode. At least a dozen over the past year.

Excellent gameplay

I really enjoyed this game. It is rather difficult on even the easier settings, but it was worth it. There are definitely some areas where runnning in with the calvary will get you smoked, you have to use your head. The force powers and a realistic lightsaber is what makes the combat very intense in this game. I though the plot of the game was pretty good as well. There are also enough levels to make it worth the money too.

I finished this game without any source book or by using the cheats. I went back through a second time and used the cheats and even then it was still tough. One thing that is considered a cheat, but really isn't is turning on the realistic lightsaber combat. With this one you basically chop them to peices if you lay into them. When thrown it usually lops off their hands or head.

Great Game

I've had this game for about two months now, and I really like it. I've been a fan of the Dark Forces series for years, and this is probably the best game yet. The force powers are very cool and well done (I loved throwing stormtroopers off cliffs especially.) The single player rivals Half-life as one of the best yet. I'm very impressed with the graphics of the game also. The lightsaber duels are amazing, as opposed to Jedi Knight 1, where they were kind of poorly done (but still good.) I highly recommend this game, so far it is the best new game I've played this year.

Greatest Star Wars Game Ever, but some faults

Simply put, this is the best star wars game made to date and a very good fps all around. The graphics (especially with a good graphics and/or video card) are exellent, and the gameplay is a lot of fun. The levels are a nice size of a Quake III engine, and the NPC's (Non-Player Characters) are done in good detail (although sometimes they look like their eyes are about to pop out of their heads). But the best part is the lightsaber combat, which is a ton of fun. The third-person view really makes you feel like you are in a SW movie, and the elagant fighting style is great. In fact, it may be a good reason to buy the game, just for the saber combat, it is that good. When you turn on model dismemberment, it is very realistic, as the stormtrooper will even grasp the hand that you just cut off. Really cool.

My only problems with the game are the loooong load times and the other weapons. Some (such as the DEMP 2 or the Bryar Pistol) of the weapons are just plain bad and are useless. There are a lot of charge up shot weapons in the game which are fine, but not good for firefights, when timing is critical. The ones that do fire fast are weak, inaccurate, and run out of ammo real fast. The best weapon is actually the E-11, that ..... looking black rifle stormtroopers use. But despite these problems, this is still a great game and I reccomend it to any SW fan and reccomend it more to anyone who really likes a quality first person shooter.

The best Star Wars game I've played!

This game just ROCKS!! If you've played Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of The Sith (which I haven't played, but I will), then you'll know what it's like to be Kyle Katarn! But, it's more fun with cheats. I use cheats all the time! Honestly though, this game will rock your world just as it did mine!
