I enjoyed this game alot. Now 4 some reason alot of reviewers here have been TRASHING this game with negative ratings. This is not an RPG game. I personally wasnt into the other Dragon Ball Z games because they were all Street Fighter type games. I enjoy fighting games but i enjoy an action adventure beat em up game even more cause they last longer. This is a great game. Now you wont find any ground breaking graphics here but i enjoy the overall animation and character design alot and i like the cell type shading the game has added in. Nice clips from the TV show are also thrown in. You either start with 1 player or 2 and theres an objective in each stage. Once you get to the end of the stage you fight a boss like Raditz, Napp etc. Now the games story takes place in the Saiyan saga so it starts with Raditz arriving on earth, kidnapping Gohan, and killing Goku. Its up to the Z fighter gang to get the 7 Dragon Balls to wish Goku back to life before the other 2 Saiyan's Vegeta and Nappa arrive. This game is 2 players and i kinda wish i had someone to join me in the fun.
Very cool

I like this game from the beginning. I don't like most of the DBZ games because they are common clieches of street fighter sort of games. I like this one coz it's different. The game has scenes from the cartoon that are thoughtfully interwoven with the game play. Very cool action adventure! I like to recommend this game to all action fans.
get any other dbz game but this

ok,first off, they move WAY TOO SLOW.the graphics,my gosh, its like a 2nd rate n64 game i swear.fun, not really, maybe if this were on a game boy i would say 4 stars but a ps2 surely not.as far as i can tell very few characters, they are no where near as powerful as the other games.i would not get this if i were you.i bought it from here for ten bucks.it might have been worth five.get budokai one two or three they are all better than this.

This game is Horribly made, bad graphics, bad camera angle, and in some battles they wont let you pass becouse of a forcefield, and the game dosnt explain what to do next. And Its was a bad idea bringin DBZ to the Gamecube. Its a Rental type game but dont recomended not even for rental.

who ever hates this games is crazy!!! This game is one of our personal favs.First of all its one of the only games that u can acctuly walk around places. The grafics are mind blowing it seems like reality. The story follows the show perfectly and all the carrecters all the things u can do that u can do that are not in the other games.the only down side is that it only go's up to the cell sega
we would reccomened yhis game to any gamer
Not exceptional.

To be honest, I was expecting some rare DBZ 'coolness' when I bought this for my little brother to play. Together we took turns playing, and before we knew it: the game was over.
Yes, you get to (almost) freely travel. Yes, the graphics are fairly plausable.
But for what reason did they produce this game, when they didn't make it exceptional? Sometimes I think that the DBZ franchise is all about currancy, and for nothing else.
This game was alright: but just buy Tenkaichi, instead.

Keep in mind, I've been a Dragonball/Dragonball Z fan for quite some time.
While I have to hand it to Avalanche(makers of the the Tak games) for trying their hand at the DBZ license and trying to offer something new in this action adventure game; I'm quite disappointed in this Dragonball Z game. Sure, it does a good job at recreating the character models and environments from the show and even summoning up the storyline to the game(told in under a minute from old cartoon footage shown from the series ages ago) but it comes up lacking seriously in the feel and spirit of the series. Instead of adding some innovation and variety into its' gameplay(like Devil May Cry, God of War, or Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks), it comes across as an old and tired beat-em-up that's boring and repetitve. You spend 99% of your time on the levels fighting saibamen and generic enemies before fighting characters you actually recognize from the DBZ universe. Then, you fight ridiculously long and challenging battles that seem completely unbalanced. Overall, It just isn't that fun or engaging to play.
Another thing I dislike about Dragonball Z Sagas is that the game is just too short and feels like it was rushed out too quickly for the masses.
For a bargain bin title and a quick diversion when there's nothing else to play...Dragonball Z Sagas might warrant a purchase. But, for full price of admission, don't bother. It's not worth it.
Good stuff and Bad stuff

All Right, this game is fun. You don't have to agree with me but this game is like a DBZ version of Kingdom hearts, you walk around kill people. It is easy though, it took me a day to beat it. It starts out with Raditz and ends with the Gohan vs Cell fight. In a way its like budokai one. The two player action makes it even better. I give the grafics a 3.5 out of five for effort, their not TOO bad but they could have done better. So if your a DBZ fan, get this game, if you don't like DBZ but like VG's still buy this game. If you hate DBZ and everything about or don't like VG's, dont get this game.
An adventure worthless of saiyan proportions.

Let me just say i know what you are thinking, yes this games is bad everyone says its bad but you know you know what? they don't have this game is what i say. First thing this games graphics are soooooo awesome have you ever played dbz budokai 3 and kept doing side steps so the camera is right behind them? yeah that was cool eh? Well Sagas does that with a bit of an air plane view if you don't like the camera you can change it the sound was i geuss one of the best parts all the music is from the actuall show! i know thats soo cool the game play was the best part with two player coo-op mode it's gotta be the best game yet it may just go to cell saga but you can unlock brolly saga too cool huh? ummm yeah just to tell you this whole review was on oppisite day so everything i said is the oppisite (except the part about the cell saga and the two player co-op mode) first i'm sorry for people who read this and said "nuh-ah this game sucks nothing you said is true" your right second the sound sux and when u fight cell with gohan you might as well trade this game in cuz its gotta be the hardest thing in the world if you ask your kid brother to do this level i swear he's gonna cry cuz of the diffulty and also its on easy cell is undoubtfully fast that he wont give you a chance to chearge your ki and also i really don't know why brolly is in this game it's weird but it makes every thing easy .
overall : this game suxxxxxx i could keep putting x's on the sux but i don't wanna waste my time so don't buy it don't rent it just stay with budokai 3 and be happy. :-)
