You cant go wrong with this game, Dragonball Z fan or not. any person who just likes video games would like this game. This is the first action/adventure game in the Dragonball series. All the other games were just 1 person on left side of screen other person on right side of screen but in this game the graphics are better, the gameplay is better, and there are more charecters to choose from.
Get the game its awesome

First I love the DBZ series but their games are a joke. This one is the worst. This game is about as fun as a Reg. Nintendo game just better Graphics. If you want to play this game put in a DVD on one TV and play another game on another. You would probably have more fun and still know what is going on with the cartoon. DBZ needs to make their games original. All they do is follow the series to the detail. I have seen every single episode. I dont want to play the exact same thing. I am giving two stars I guess to be nice.
It had sooo much potential...

Ok. I'm a big DBZ fan. Have every single episode and what not and know nearly everything about it. I believe DBZ Legends (Import) for PS one is the best DBZ game ever made. It's near perfection. DBZ Budokai 3 is in a close second to best DBZ game. Now this. This is pretty much down there with those ultimate battle games... When I heard it would be an rpg, I was thinking "uh oh, if they don't do this right, it'll be a disaster...". Well Ladies and Gentleman, they BARELY got it to not! be a total flop...
The graphics are not that great... The animation in the ki charge and background explosions look nice but the hero's and villans look like a souped up N64 game.
The music is real serious, and follows the dreary battle aspects of the series, I guess... Doesn't really hype you up to fight in the game. We need some of that good ol' "We Gotta Power!" music back. :(
The storyline follows the shows pretty much perfectly. BUT with changes... like new lesser villans (like purple Saibamen). The game seems old and it was just released...
Gameplay. Ah, gameplay. NOT what you would expect, even from a DBZ game. If you've played Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu, it's almost just! like that, except worse. You go through fixed levels pixing up items that are always in the same location and then you buy upgrades for your characters. It all seems so fun but it's not. Blocking is hard to time, the teleport move when your locked on a characters doesn't always put you in the direction you want to go because of the characters line of sight, and reaction time to certain moves is ULTRA slow (even though I think you can buy an upgrade for that).
Like I said before, this game had! so much potential. You find yourself running around to much, trying! to control your character perfectly and it seems like Bah at times... I paid full price for it (which the game is not worth) and then saw it for cheaper elsewhere. I'm happy I reserved it though because I got a free Devil May Cry 3 screen for my apartment, lol. The plus' for the game is that it IS DBZ, the cut scenes (which show parts of the series and you can add to your library) look nice while the game loads, upgrading characters is always fun, and most of all, it's a 2-player game.
If your a fan and you find it for $40's and under, get it. I've played it on and off since I got it and I've liked it a taaaaad more each time. (I guess it's because I've gotten used to the controls a bit more.) If your looking for a really good DBZ game buy DBZ Budokai 3, that! wont disappoint you. Sagas should have delivered so much more for being a PS2 game.
Hell No!

Trully this game does not live up to the name Sagas. It skips pretty much all the details the sagas really should have. The game is fun.It really is.BUT i beat the whole dame game within 2 hours.Pak man gave me more of a challenge. The graphic are alright.I didnt expect them to be great.Over all i regret paying what i did for the game. It's best to get the game used so the most you have to pay is ten bucks.Thats how much i sold mine.
Waste of the DBZ Name

This game is horrible. It is not even fun. It could have been a great game but it seems like no effort was put it. It was probably already a game and they just put the DBZ characters into it. I just expected so much more out of a DBZ title after the Budokai games.
disappointing

I had very high hopes for this game. After Budokai 3 i thought this would be just as good except that it would give you a more RPG feel. there are 3 things that I don't like about this game. One is that the graphics could have been way better, the second is that the camera angles can get very annoying, and the third and worst is that there are lot's of invisible walls. they take away the freedom. another annoying thing is that you can't fly as high as you want. you can jump and then fly but if you want to fly up higher you have to find a tall rock to stand on then jump and fly and then you will get higher. it also only goes up to cell, why not spend a little more time and make it go to buu. this game seems like it was very rushed and i'm glad i rented it first. i would have given it 3 stars but i still have the urge to go and play it somemore and beat it. only get this game if you love DBZ and if you do get it, don't expect Budokai quality. the game also has some cool parts too so that also makes it get 4 stars.
Uhhhh... yeah....

Well, when I saw the first screens of it, I knew it would have mediocore gameplay. Then, 3 months later came the commercial. Gameplay, looked hot!!! I read a few reviews. Sucks, sucks, sucks, sucks, sucks, good game, sucks. I heed their warnings, but RENT the game anyway. It's 50% good, the other % sucks. To get around, you have to use the SAME combo, while also trying to buy upgrades. (Kinda like a mediocore Metal Gear Solid mission) Punch, Punch, Kick, Kick, Kick. Oh look a giant boulder blocking my way from continutioning. Kamehameha, masenko, galick gun, etc. Now, the bosses. I was being kind to give it 3 stars. I rate games MOSTLY on bosses. The bosses in this game are challenging in mediocrity. But, they ABSOLUTELY have no intelligence whatsoever. But, in some way, they are fun to fight.
I'm not saying to avoid this game, but I'm not saying to play it either. If you really want to try it, rent it at best. You'll get bored sure... But then, for some... unexplained reason, after 30 minutes, you'll pick up the controller again... then put it back down... and then the cycle keeps repeating itself.
Hey give Atari some slack

I found this game to be OK. It's one of the few attempts at a console DBZ RPG, and to tell you the truth, it's pretty creative. For one thing, it's real-time battles, and I've had experience at such games, like Phantasy Star Online (which is amazingly good even offline). You have your basic Kamehamehas and Galick Guns and Masenkos, etc. Like I expected, you have to buy those kinds of skills. You have to buy combos as well (what the h#!!) and you gather capsules to increase your health and energy. The game is challenging with the AI, especially the bosses (it took me a good deal of time to beat him). If you are a DBZ fan, a definite buy to add to your collection or to have fun playing. Non-DBZ fans, beware. Real-Time RPG fans, rent (maybe...).
